Was Undecided Between A Volvo And The Vw. Glad I

Was undecided between a Volvo and the VW. Glad I went for the VW. It's a brilliant little car and it's an automatic. In today's current petrol prices I get 25 MPG around town. The previous owner had it from 1993 and when I got it it only had 70k on the clock.

I'd recommend a VW Golf to anyone.

Vw Golf Cl 96 1.8 8v 90hp Canadian Specs. I Have T

VW GOLF CL 96 1.8 8V 90Hp Canadian specs. I have this car since new and after 215000 Km, I must say it is very well built and runs great. Of course I've had some minor problems throughout the years such as ignition Coil, spark plug cable replacements, Coolant leak and others which are so minor that I don't even remember.

Performance is not that great, but that also contributes to its 6.6 L/100Km Highway fuel consumption, which is quite good.

Good preventive maintenance keeps this car going and frankly doesn't seem to wanna quit. Of course driving habits play a very important role in every vehicle's condition.

Great Car, But Spend A Little Extra On A Gl Or Gti

Great car, but spend a little extra on a GL or GTI, you will really want the extra power on highways!

VW's handle better than any car I have previously owned, a thrill to drive! (Previously owned a Civic and Corolla).

The Volkswagen Golf Mk3 1.8 Cl Offers Exceptional

The Volkswagen Golf Mk3 1.8 CL offers exceptional build quality, a comfortable ride and a large boot. It is a little underpowered, the gear change could be smoother, but it is a great car, and generally pleasant to drive, although the clutch is quite stiff and gear change is not too bad. Otherwise, it is a great practical and comfortable car that will run forever.

The Volkswagen Golf Mark Three 1.8 Cl Combines Tru

The Volkswagen Golf mark three 1.8 CL combines true reliability with smooth, relaxing motorway driving. The 1800 CL does however appear slightly underpowered with only 90 bhp, compared to other 1.8 hatchbacks. The build quality of the Golf is second to none and will go on for 200,000 miles or more. Personally, my Golf has undertaken 150,000 and is still running very well with the minimal amount of problems occuring. If you are looking to invest money in a car to save money and keep for a long time, then this would be my choice time after time. I do feel that there could be more toys within the car and may require a personalisation initiative.

After 9 years ownership I've just swapped mine for a Mk4 (2002 model) 1.6SE, which is a huge step up. But the Mk 3 gave faithful service for those 9 years - never, ever failed to start or broke down on the road - and if I'd looked after it better and not had to drive it over such rough ground it would be good for another 9 years! Really reliable, no-frills transportation - what more do you want? Oh, yeah, a Mk 4 1.6SE!
