I Have A 2001 S40 T Sport And My Wife Has The 2001
I have a 2001 S40 T sport and my wife has the 2001 V40 T sport... I have had Mercs and BMWs in the past but nothing comes close to these cars for reliability and out and out value for money ...particularly second hand.I only paid £5000 for the two of them and have had them both converted to LPG...Which suits them very well. They are wolfs in sheeps clothing that you can guarantee will start first time eveytime and will get you from Ato B in comfort. They are easy to work on and parts are easily available at a good price... I know these cars have a slating from people but for the life of me I do not know why. I will be replacing them soon and yes it will be with another Volvo.A very under rated car in Turbo form and the best kept secret I know ...until I told you............

Overall I would recommend the Volvo S40 car to most people but it would be a little small for tall people.

This Is My Third Volvo Having Owned An S40 2.0 An
This is my third Volvo having owned an s40 2.0 an s40 1.8 and now the v40 2.0t I can state that the handling pack on 2.0 and 2.0t not on 1.8 is a must if you do a lot of country road work and there is a marked difference in performance when you go to the 1.8 provided you service them they can give back big mileages first car went to 217'000 gave it to my mate and he used it for another year and second went to 177'000 before the gear box broke the mechanic I gave it to uses it as a spare and though it is busted and due to seize any day it does seem to keep rolling along the 2.0t is just as comfortable as the s40's and has a baby mileage of 77'000 I expect it to go to 200'000 miles ish before I bin it, that's about 5 years of my hard driving my old works vans never gave me that and they weren't as comfy
My recommendation, buy it with a full service history and keep on servicing it. Anything less than 150'000 will (probably) have some life still to give you.

Bought New In Late 2000, The 2001 Volvo S40 2.0 Tu
Bought new in late 2000, the 2001 Volvo S40 2.0 Turbo specification has been a very satisfactory purchase and a joy to own and drive.
The S40 has never had a good time from the motoring press in the UK but it is an under rated car. Those who own them seem to like them and keep them for some time.
Super safety ratings and equipment, which led the way in Europe. This car is comfortable and a good drive for the average motorist, if not the drving enthusiast. A lot cheaper than its over rated, German, 'prestige' rivals.

The Volvo S40 2.0 Turbo Has One Of The Best Specs
The volvo S40 2.0 Turbo has one of the best specs I have known. The seats are very comfortable and the car is not thirsty. It is easy to park and the steering is excellent. I think when it comes to racing this car it looks fantastic on the road. I fancy being the second person 2 review this car. IT IS A GREAT CAR TO RUN!
