Daihatsu Charade Gtti Has A Very Nice Design On Th

Daihatsu Charade GTTI has a very nice design on the outside and also in the inside..great performance, is not power steering so that's the only bad thing about it, and very affordable.

Overall rating about my car is 8. i love my car a lot cause it's very practical for me especially living in the mountain area.

I've Been Using My Gtti Daihatsu Charade. This Lit

I've been using my gtti Daihatsu Charade. This little monster do have a lot of kicks. I've beaten some 1.3 and 1.6 turbo charge with this monster and they wonder how the hell that this little engine can go faster than what they have right now.

Last but not least this engine is very hard to find nowadays.

I Proudly Owned A Daihatsu Charade And Ran It For

I proudly owned a Daihatsu Charade and ran it for 10 years, it brought a smile to my face every day.

I well remember the morning drive from Sutton to Dorking on a 40 mile hour stretch. Jags and Beamers used to chase me from the traffic lights but were no match for the GTti's initial acceleration, they inevitably got snapped by speed cameras when trying to catch up!

It was a sad day for my sons and me when I had to retire it.

I Think If You Find The Hd Demotoso Engine 92kw Sw

I think if you find the HD Demotoso engine 92Kw swap for it, it would make it a much better car. Or even the 1.6 Daihatsu applause engine with NA mods or turbo charging it. It would make it into a great sleeper.

I Have Just Bought A Jap Modified Gtti With 140 Bh

I have just bought a Jap modified GTti with 140 Bhp. I've boosted it up to 1.5 bar and it even wheel spins in fourth. Last night I blew away a 200bhp starlet Gt turbo!! Had it dynoded and it spat out 207hp @ the flywheel.

I own a Toyota Galanza V (newer model 1.3 starlet gt) it's running 231bhp and is very, very quick - It will leave evos etc. Once raced a Charade GTti in my Punto GT and it stuck next to me up to about 70mph - I couldn't believe it. Thought the geezers having a laugh. My Punto was standard 136bhp. Got home and went on the net to find out what this tiny car was that kept up with me. Very impressed for a 1.0 turbo pushing 99bhp. 0-60 what is the time for these. My Starlet is impressive standard 6.8sec with 133bhp. the GTtis are very rare and are very expensive I think. £3500 gets a good one. I've seen a few for £1500 but they look like sheds. Also has anyone driven the Micra Turbo Trxx thats a 650cc with 64bhp and 0-60 in 6.3secs or so, I know its around that. Yeah its very small and light but it sounds like fun to drive and will do 100mph+. Daihatsu make some good cars, its a shame a lot of people don't know this until they get beaten by one.

I Had A 'e' Reg Daihatsu Charade Gtti Back In 1990

I had a 'E' reg Daihatsu Charade GTti back in 1990, I paid about £3500 for it second hand with 37000 mile on the clock , it looked brand new and still looked brand new when i sold it 3 years later, proberly the best car i ever had, drove it all over france & spain with 3 passangers clocking up 1000's of miles with no trouble at all!

The GTti was well ahead of its time, it had the most powerful 1 litre engine (99BHP) in the world earning its entry in the guiness book of records. It looked better than some of the small sports hatchbacks of today.

Any one got one for sale ???

Had A 'j' 92 Reg A While Back Now And I Wish I'd N

Had a 'J' 92 reg a while back now and I wish I'd never got rid of it. I tuned it up to 135 BHP with just one modification - a trip to a local garage with a starchip conversion in hand. The best £400 I ever spent....WOW!!! I found it hard to find other tuning aids as there were very few sold in England so the tuning pro's did'nt seem that interested..Big Mistake. When I was about to sell it there seem to be a sudden craze in my area for them, I think it maybe had something to do with me tearing about everywhere plus the fact that this was one car that could actually blow a Renault 5 Turbo into the ground. Swapped it for a Carlton Gsi 24v which was a big mistake as it was actually slower up until about 120mph, was I sick!!!

I've been looking for another decent one for about 6 years now but unfortunately all the ones I've been to see were complete basket cases!!

If you ever see a good one for sale...BUY IT...you won't regret it, if you don't then e-mail me cos I'll have it!!!!!!!!!

I just bought J12LME - white gti from a fella in Scarbourough last week. You must have looked after it as its in mint condition inside and out. The engine is going strong and pulls on well, although I have had to replace the tubo as it was smoking slightly. I have a folder full of reciepts including an engine rebuild about 6 years ago. I dont plan on messing with it much other than maybee upping the boost a bit and fitting a radio.

Lindy,

Sorry, Only just got notification of your comment on the review of the Charade Gtti. If you still have the car and have anymore details, like photo's and general stuff like mileage, history condition etc and most importantly how much your looking for then send it to [email protected].

Cheers, Paul

I have a J reg. Daihatsu Charade Twin Cam 12 valve Turbo GTti (reg. no. J12 LME). The engine has failed us but we are loathe to dump it as it has 4 good tyres, is in clean, good condition and we love it! Any offers?
