Peugeot 206 2.0 GTi

Well just as most of you have said its a little rocket, cant find much wrong but if your going to fix anything yourself you better have small hands... its a little tight to work on.. as for fuel its great, a trip to work at a steady 40 mph ish without booting it i can get the trip miles up to 45 mpg !! and i got the gti 180 with piper cross air filter and janspeed cat back rear box so its better than my mazda 6 2.3 any day.. yeah its abit bumpy under foot but changing the front springs to ones from a 138 makes all the difference, it rides about 10mm higher but dont bother me and still handles great.. a real nice little car...

bought myself a pug 206 gti in silver on a 02 plate and i must say for a pug ,,,i love it ,its so responsive ,so bloody quick and u dont need to thrash the axxe of it to go anywhere ,i love the fact u get ,a/c half leather ,cd changer and all the loads of extras ,and to top it of i pretty much paid peanuts for mine and its soooo gorgeous ,love it ,love it ,louuuvvvv it,all u pug 206 gti owners i salute u ,,,

Look at the standard spec on it and you will realise how much you get for your money. Leather, cd changer, digital CC, auto wipers and headlights, aggressive yet pretty styling.

It packs a punch considering with its 2 litre engine considering it only weighs just over 1000kgs - compare this to a new BMW Mini that weighs around 1350kgs - thats like having an extra 4 people in the car with you.

Handling is very good with classic lift off steering but it comes alive on the twisty B roads.

The best thing is that a lot of people who try an race you do not realise you are pushing out 140bhp and so its even more sweet when you kill them at the lights.

The only thing that has gone wrong with mine in 4 years is a an injector fault that cost £90 to fix.

The guy that said get a golf?? Oh dear, a bulky old tractor?

Well.....Iv only had this car 2 weeks and the gearbox has gone on it, luckily have warranty and have sent it back.

The time its been ok before this though I have found it fabulous, handles well round corners etc, speedy respose and lovely un marked full leather interior.

I have the windscreen wipers on auto and they seem to have a mind of their own even when NOT raining, cant seem to turn them off but not major problem.

Not very practical at lifting stuff into the back seat but not something I do on a regular basis so its ok.

Overall.....a lovely looking and performing car......when I get it back from being repaired that is.

Had this Peugeot 206 2.0 GTi for over a year now and am really pleased with it . had no probs, only that now theres too many people on the road you can't let the enjoyment last .well worth the money though..very nice inside , climate control / a/c e/w . If you're thinking of getting one, I would recommend buying one .. Insurance can be a little steep.

But I need some one to tell me more about superships. Does it affect something in the car is it good for the money...?

I raced against a Mercedes 300ce 12v and beated him. From a none standing start! As well as 206 s16 with a group n exhaust. And a golf 2 GTi 2.0 16v.

I really don ' t trust the handling on my GTi. It maybe that it ' s just my car that is like this, but it just does not feel right when cornering. (I am an experienced driver) I ' ve had it into 4 garages trying to find out if there is a problem in the suspension somewhere, but each garage has said it has no issues so it makes me believe it must just be the car.. Thirsty on fuel, even if you nurse it around changing up at 2700rpm and driving below 55. Nothing seems to make it give your more miles for your money. That ' s all there is to dislike.... The positives far outweigh the negatives I think. Fast - - > From standing, from rolling, from 2000rpm in 5th this car will still pick up really well. It ' s made for booting really. I couldn ' t get over how quick it accelerates, and also how it just keeps going and going when you floor it. No hesitating around 80 or 90 mph and slowly crawling round the clock... It just carries on. The leather seats are attractive, and I think the entire interior in this car is better than what you will find in other hot hatches. A/C and digital climate control make sure it ' s always pleasant inside the cockpit. The standard speakers aren ' t amazing, but they ' re ok if you compliment them with a 12" subwoofer. Spacious in the front, not too bad in the back either I suppose... If you want something to drive around and just feel good about owning, safe in the knowledge its fast as hell and has plenty of power in reserve, get one of these!

Lush Car. Really pretty and good looking car, it's quick and dont hang around. It's got half leather.

Had my Peugeot 206 GTi for 2 months. When I picked car up over 70 miles away had to give it some on motorway and found it to be very responsive without realising ,so you need to watch the clock. Found it extremely comfy, as it hugs you into the seat. Does around 30 mpg which is OK for a 138 bhp 2 litre. Last car was Vauxhall Corsa sxi 1.2i 16v 90bhp so it is fast and nice in comparison.
