2.0 Litre Gti-6 Engine (put This Engine In My 1.4) 306
I got this engine to go into my 1.4 306, to me this engine is brilliant im always modifying car etc but this is the best mod ive done totally worth the money. This engine can take some hammering never broke down on me when dragging on the strip to me when driving it you can feel wot the engine is doing plus its mostly mechanical not like these modern engines where its all electronic. down side to this engine some places stopped doing parts for it or parts really hard to get new bits I carnt talk about the car itself cause its a 1.4 I have not got the gti-6 its self but seem them and the are stunning I always wanted one but im only 19 so could never afford one so bought just the engine gearbox loom ecu etc to go in mine but ya stunning cars in. The petrol right some people say it can be betterya there are right but it is manageable I fill my tank fo brim and can get from leeds to Winchester (work) and still have just under half a tank and on the way down im racing folk so to me thats not bad the engine pulls from 1st gear to last it keeps up to most things on road audi s3, bmw (some lol), focus st, Honda s2000 and few other things. Love taking my mum out she craps herself innit bless her scared pretty much everyone whos got in the car with this engine but still got more stuff to do to like remaps, cams, pistons, some over bits but like again theres so much you can do to it its like lego or summit haha but even as standard brilliant engine I have never looked back love the gti-6

I Bought My 6 A Couple Of Months Ago. I Have Never
i bought my 6 a couple of months ago. i have never driven a better handling car than this, is in my opinion the best hot hatch of its day. it does everything a hot hatch should, looks good, subtle but good. very fast 167bhp 2 litre engine has plenty of torque and loves to rev. comfortable aswell, those half leather seats hold you in while driving quickly and are also comfortable on long journeys. bad points which are not many but the fuel situation is not ideal when you open the taps a little. the cam-belt also must have a mention here, must be replaced regularly or face the penalty of an engine rebuild. also the radiator's have a habit of perishing, not only the gti 6 but most 306's suffer this problem. but apart from these small issues this is a fantastic car and will give you many hours of truly great driving! i look forward to many more happy years with my gti 6.
i owed one of these from 2004-2006 and it was an awesome car!! gotta say though it had the worst turning circle of any car ive ever known, hence the reason i sold it.

What Can I Say, This Is A Really Good Hatchback.
What can I say, this is a really good hatchback.
I have owned mine for 2 days and it has changed my whole outlook on the conecpt of what speed is!
This car just pushed surges of power in every gear.
However the back end has jumped out on me a couple of times, which lowers my confidence when driving hard through corners. I used to own a lowerered Saxo VTR, which I could hammer through every corner, however the GTI-6 is a different ball game; you need to be awake to drive this thing otherwise "hello mr hedge, tree or wall, bye bye GTI-6" get it?
This car feels very sturdy and well built.
As far as looks and sound goes, I personally think the cars needs a few mods, ie. exhaust, induction kit, headlights and visible GTI-6 stickers (no body kits, neons or stuff like that).
It jumpd out on you coz you took your foot off the gas, inducing lift-off oversteer, that's part of the fun of this car, its easy to do that!

This Is My Third 306 Now, I've Previously Owned A
This is my third 306 now, I've previously owned a '97 D-turbo and an '01 1.8 XS, both of which were great cars but only boasted around 100bhp, give or take a few.
The Gti-6 is a completely different ball game! with almost 170bhp and a 6-speed 'close ratio' gearbox, it's still capable of biting the heels of newer performance cars such as the Civic TypeR and Golf Gti's! My most previous car was a mk4 Golf Gti 1.8T, chipped to 197 bhp by APR, but the Gti-6 seems a touch quicker. When driven hard, the Peugeot does enjoy a drink, but this is to be expected of a 140mph pocket rocket which will blast to 60 mph in less than 7secs!
If it's outright performance, race-track handling and excellent value you're after, buy a 306 Gti-6, or the maginally lighter 306 rallye!

I Really Struggled To Find A Really Good 90's Hot
I really struggled to find a really good 90's hot hatch after parting with both a Golf Vr6 and Astra GTe 16v. At first I was going to buy a Clio Williams but failed to find a good one. In the end I settled on the Peugeot 306 GTI6 and it turned out to be a really good car that did most things I asked of it. The understated looks of the car are both a good thing and a bad thing. I do normally like my hot hatches to look hot.
After 2.5 years and over 20,000 miles I've now sold the car but enjoyed my time with it. I did however hate the poor turning circle which sometimes made me look an idiot when parking and it didn't have anywhere to put anything. Otherwise a great car but like most French cars I sold it before anything much started to go wrong because I knew it would before too long.

Where Do I Start Since Owning This Car It Has Chan
Where do I start since owning this car it has changed the way I drive forever. The power starts from the moment you turn the key and the sound when your above 4000rpm is great.
If anyone is in the market for a hot hatch this has to be the one for you. It may not be the fasted anymore or one of the prettiest but it is by far one of the most enjoyable to drive.
There is more than enough power for the roads we drive on nowadays. 0-60 is around 7.2 seconds and top end is around 140mph.
