lol had 2 a rover engined 1.6 fantastic till head went as they do then the far superior honda engined 1.6 sold it for a bigger car and funnily enough an obscenely quick T5 but in reality as you say motorways aside the cabby would probably win on the twisty stuff anyway now buying another as a 3rd car cos I miss it so much (Ive tried the 205 & XR3i but poor by comparison true MX5 unbeatable but less practical and twice the price for a decent one)

I Got My '94 Cabriolet With 28,000 Miles On The Cl

I got my '94 cabriolet with 28,000 miles on the clock for £7000 in 2001. Mileage as of 2010 around 114,000 I have had to replace the hood which did crack and leak around 2005 (did that myself and it took an entire weekend but half the price of a specialist) and that has been the most expensive job done at about £500. This car has been super reliable and although it doesn't have the power or acceleration it once did, it still has enough power to compete happily on the motorway. It is surprisingly economical and I would have no hesitation in recommending this model to anyone - and have done.

I Love To Drive It With The Roof Of And Cant Wait

I love to drive it with the roof of and cant wait until the summer, I swapped my BMW 318i Touring 1990 with 160K for my 92 rover cabriolet 135k and there is not a lot of difference between them to drive for me. A very reliable car.

Change From A Grand, Green Metallic With Green Hoo

Change from a grand, green metallic with green hood in good nick, 80000 miles ~ 6 months decent driving so far and everyone remarks on how quick it is for a 1993 car. I like it a lot ~ been a Rover man for many years now and am sad to see the marque go.

love these cars had a few not sure where he lives but I know of about 40 locally (2011) back in 2008 when review posted they must have been lots more reckon more of these survive as the 205 and xr3 were bought and abused by boyracers the 216 had a bit of a grandad image but folk have realised its a great car and its fast and handles well although I prefer pottering along with the hood down just soaking up the rays great heater so as long as not p'ing down the hood can come down

Very happy with my purchase, would definitely recommend it to my friends if they found one in as good a condition as I did. Great looking car, really nice to drive, nippy and reliable. So far no bad points for me!

As You Can Tell I Love My Rover 216 Cabriolet. It

As you can tell I love my rover 216 Cabriolet. It is a pleasure to drive, I got change from a Grand on my one with less than 70k on the clock. The one I had before I paid £400 for in 2005 and it lasted me 2 years with absolutly no mechanical faults and towards the end of my ownership the clutch had started to slip at around the 110k miles mark. But Rovers are one of the cheapest cars to get clutch replaced. I cant fault it, really, I cant. It has everything, speed, looks, economy, handling, it ticks all the boxes.

The Rover Was A Replacement For An Aging Suzuki 4x

The Rover was a replacement for an aging Suzuki 4x4 but what a difference in comfort and performance! For less than £1000 we bought a 'poor man's' prestige vehicle. The interior is extremely comfortable with well supported leather bucket seats. The body work in metallic blue was complimented by wide alloy wheels. Hoods are rather shabby!
