Rover Coupe 216 1.6

Yeah yeah it`s an old rover your saying lol but really it`s a honda ( if you can find the honda engine model )and for a simple car to drive,handles great,starts quicker on a cold morning than any other car i`ve had , 35-39 miles per gallon ( on a run ) then what`s not to like ?Most of the running gear ( ie switches etc ) are honda parts and if anything ever needs replacing like drop links etc then your talking a mere £6.00 per arm and most other bits that can wear out are around the £20.00 mark so cheap happy motoring all around if you ask me !

If your after a cheap runabout that`s cheap to insure,service etc and handles very well indeed then find yourself a rover 216 coupe ( huge glass removable 2 x sunroof ) with the honda engine ( very important honda engine model ) and you`ll be pleasantly supprised just how much for your money you get for a few hundred quid .

Only main rust area`s are the outer door edge area and rear arches and sills so just check there ok or good enough to last a few more years .

ive had my rover for 2 months and what more can i say its a dream car ,acceleration great ,driving response great ,fuels not bad .its done 162,000 miles and drives like new for an n reg ,has been well looked after ,body condition and interior is good ,12 years of mot certificates given with the car and past every time with the smallest of advisorys .i would like to no how much these cars go for if any one can tell me that would be great .would like this dream car to go to a collector if he/her is out there could you contact me at [email protected] .proud to own this classic drive

hey just bought a 216 coupe with honda engine. put some 17" lowered new air filter and piper back box. i love it sounds and looks brill.

Just brought my first 216 coupe (95, 1.6), I had to buy a car for under a grand, and i'm really chuffed that i've brought a clean/well maintaned and low'ish milage car for only £740.

I only read these reviews after i bought the car, which to be honest i hadn't really heard much about. But you have all put my my mind at rest and thankfully lucks been on my side because it has a honda engine.

Can't wait to have a real play :)

Rover Coupe 216 1.6 is a great looking car, drives great, reasonable acceleration, best car ive ever bought.

Love the drive and feel with a bag of sand in the spare wheel but with back seats down its no use unless i want to fill car with sand

i've had my Rover Coupe 216 1.6 now for a year and they are prone for head gasket on the k engine. but mine has been mint. im a hard driver at leasts be honest but the car can take it. parts are cheap and easy to change. got full leathers so lovoin it. 23 n car costs me 500 on insurance wiv 4 yrs no claims. wa more u want lol. fun car that can stick to the road well.

I've had my rover 216 coupe for about 3 months now and i couldnt of wished for a better car, its the honda engined model and have put the full black leather in it from the turbo, lowered it 40 mill and got a air filter on it. This is car has been so much fun just a shame i have to sell it due to losing my licence. i would deff say to buy 1 if ur looking for a good bit of fun that is very reliable.

Looks great, better with newer dash and interior. Quite fun 2 drive mines like driving go cart quite nippy fun throwing it into corners. Great for internal acoustics music seems to bounce back off rear window into center of car.

Overall this cars just looks great and goes like stink, ok to mod under bonnet , bodywork mods forget these all the kits are useless.

Owned my rover 216 coupe (1994) for 3 years now and every MOT has cost pennies with very little needed. when I bought the car it had 65k on it and 1 owner from new, now with 89k on it only thing's needed were tyre's and a new back box. Noisy at high speed's (85mph +) but it's the only bad thing I can say about my little baby tomcat. Started every time summer or winter and very easy to service. I am 29yrs old and my wife is 22yrs and even with her age I only pay £465 a year fully comp with 5yrs no claim's and protection. Without doubt the best motor I have owned and believe me I have owned a few! Find that's been looked after and treasure it as it will love you back within your wallet.
