The Car In Front Is A Toyota...!

I have had Fords Peugeot VW's but despite Japanese cars being regularly in Top 10 of JD survey this is my first

Japanese car. I always wanted a VVTI because of the classic lines it was designed with and the raised hood in the

Bonnet reminds me of a Pintiac Transam from my youth! Aside from good looks the first thing I noticed was the drive train is so smooth compared to other manufacturers. It sits well on the road, and I think the acceleration on my 140 bhp is great for a car of its class. The interior is functional if not too exciting but it works for me as the build quality is such that even on my '03 model everything works!!! I would thoroughly recommend ownership & would give an overall rating of 5*****

A Great All Rounder,a Little Cramped In The Rear T

A great all rounder,a little cramped in the rear though, but its a sports car afer all.

I have owned my VVTI for 7 years, and in all that time,i have only needed to replace the aux pulley, and rear silencer? Not bad for a 10 year old car.

There has been no other issues with it,it starts ist time, and i get 35-45 mpg.

I was thinking of trading up to the GT model, but i have changed my mind, due to the increasing cost of petrol.

I would think i will have this car for many years to come, barring accidents of course, best car i have ever owned, and i have had BMW'S Audi's in the past, and the Totota beats them all.

THE PAINT IS THIN AND LIKE ALL CELICA'S CHIPS EASILY,ALLOYS EAT THEM SELVES I'M GOING TO HAVE MINE REFURBISHED SOON. GEAR CHANGE IS GREAT, SEATS I FIND COMFORTABLE AND DRIVING POSITION GOOD.PERFORMANCE ON STANDARD ONES IS OK ( MY WIFES ASTRA DIESEL IS AS QUICK) THE ONE THING I DID DO WAS TO UP GRADE THE BRAKES EBC DISCS AND GREEN PADS, BETTER. My 03 Celica 1.8 Vvti In Black Is A Nice Re

My 03 celica 1.8 vvti in black is a nice reliable car and handles very well. It is classed as a sports car but has to be really revved quite hard to make it perform well.

The one main down side to ownership is you cant get a haynes type manual

for this car, and its difficult to even find out what the spark plug gaps

should be without one. The genuine toyota manuals are a rediculous price !

The Toyota Celica 1.8 Vvti Is Great. At First I W

The Toyota Celica 1.8 vvti is great. At first i was torn between the Hyundai Coupe and the Celica until I sat inside them. The hyundai was very plain and was not very pleasing to the eye, whereas the Celica inside was just as pleasing as to look at as the outside. On hind sight its good to have a good looking car that people look at whilst you're driving, but even better to be watching the people looking at your car from the great inside and feel what they're thinking as you pass. DONT BUY ONE, i like my semi uniqueness of owning one and if too many started appearing on the roads it wouldnt feel as special to me, but only by a percentage or so. Bonjour

I Bought My Celica When It Was Just Over Three Yea

I bought my Celica when it was just over three years of age, and have had it for over five years, to date it has been very reliable. As with others I discovered that the alloys suffer terrible corrosion, this is purley down to Toyota putting a thin coat of paint on them and not allowing for our winters.I had my alloys re-furbished four years ago and they still look good.I still think the Celica looks great despite the design being nine years old,it also has a cracking driving position, and handles aswell as it looks. The only downside is the lack of torque, its only got 125 Ib ft and that's above 6000rpm, so you always have to be in the right gear/powerband to get the best out of it. Having said this the pay off is good MPG,I always get between 35-40. Another good point is that the rear seats are usable, I often carry my two children in the back, not an option in say an Audi TT. In short the Toyota Celica is a good looking Coupe,is very reliable, cheap to run, has a degree of practicality for a Coupe, the only downside is that although it looks as if it's got a 200bhp + engine under the bonnet, it has'nt,but is redeemed a bit by it's excellent road holding.

I Have Had My 190vvti Toyota Celica In Red For 6 M

I have had my 190vvti Toyota Celica in red for 6 months now and I must admit I still get a buzz from driving it above 3000 revs when the valves kick in it is awesome. I do try to drive this car conservatively but you find when you have a chilli pepper red celica with sports pack and extras everyone from Cavaliers to Fiats will try to race you! Great on corners like it is on rails trust me chuck it into a bend and give it some! See what happens (you will be surprised).

I Have Just Got Rid After Just Over 6 Years From N

I have just got rid after just over 6 years from new. It was a very good car and I miss it. Handled superb, anything from just over 30mpg driving keen to 41mpg/400 miles per tank when I backed off.

The alloys corrode which is unsightly. Lots of stonechips at the front. Cabin let in small amounts of water, but I was damned if I could find out where. Seat springs had started to go, bach ache followed.

The engine has a timing chain, so no bills for a belt change. I had done 86000 miles and it was just starting to use the thin 5w30 oil in quite serious amounts.

Long loadspace meant it fits a mountain bike with the wheel on, but only 1 way to put it in due to shallow boot.

The reason I got rid of it was however the intermittent engine warning light and the resultant drop in performance/economy. Nobody could sort it out and it is a problem this engine is known for. I think it was the wiring loom to the no. 2 Lambda, which had been renewed, but there is only so much money to throw at a 6 year old car.

If you can sort this problem, recommended.

Looks And Feels Good To Drive. Great Handling And

Looks and feels good to drive. Great handling and the power is there when you need it. Car was designed 9 years ago and still looks better than the new cars out on the roads. Great driving position.

A major service cost me £305 from a Toyota dealer which I thought was a good. The same service on a Lexus cost my brother £600.
