A Brilliant Subtle Sports Car
I have so much to say about this car, I'll have to summarise to get it all in. I've tried to sound non-biased but it's hard because there aren't many cons.
Engine- Fairly economical but very thrashy when you want it to be. Because of the close ratio gearbox you can be in the 'wrong' gear and it pulls. Once you hit 6.4k RPM it takes off like a rocket, the short shift stick allows swift and satisfying gear changes, and allows you to stay in the cam lift rev range, so you're laughing all the way until you notice the speedo at 120mph.
Noise- The exhaust is subtle but gives a nice note, like a tiger cub roaring, and purring on overrun. The engine is very loud when flooring it but it's a nice thrashy/induction noise.
Brakes- Brilliant, the ABS seems to work perfectly in this car- never a judder nor a skid. As a general Toyota feature there is sometimes caliper scrub which is annoying but not problematic.
Handling- Awesome! You can carry so much speed through a corner because of the low center of gravity, weight distribution and grip. The steering is so solid and has perfect feedback- you can feel exactly how much grip you have and feel like you're part of the car. It gives you so much confidence when driving. If you happen to kick the rear end out from enthusiasm the car just seems to center itself again effortlessly like a gyro.
Interior- The plastics look semi-cheap but they're actually rather solid, the terrible state of British roads has caused a few rattles towards the back of mine but other than that everything has held together well. The leather seats are comfortable and stylish, and again, help you feel part of the car.
Body- It's sleek but not flashy so you won't have boy racers trying to race you all the time, but if you do and you have enough road to get cam lift to kick in, you'll be laughing in the faces of most 2.0, some 2.2L, and most probably be alot faster around corners too.
Space- The driver may touch the roof at 6'3

Great Car, Handling And Performance. Drive It Norm
Great car, handling and performance. Drive it normally and its great fun. Responsive and good mpg. Hit the 6,000 rpm and the thing takes off. Gearbox short shift a dream to use, driving position is very good with lots of adjustment. Build quality excellent. The thing goes round corners like its on rails. Take the stability control off and have some real fun. With all this fun, dont expect a smooth ride, it will pick up most of the bumps and hang on to the wheel if you hit some worn out road with a bad camber.. you have been warned! Other than than, i am not going to change this beauty until i rack up over 100k. Keep the oil changes regular and you will have no engine problems. If the dipstick shows you nice clean oil then its been looked after.

After Being Financial Crippled By My Rx8, The Toyo
After being financial crippled by my rx8, the Toyota Celica was a breath of fresh air. After 6k rpm the power is comparble with the 231bhp rx8; unlike the rx8 there are no annoying rattles. It has an almost van like reliability feel to it but that's not a bad thing when your able to strip the centre console down for some tinkering. It's discreet enough to remain unkeyed in the carpark. Mine does about 29mpg with mixed driving. Because of the weight you can really make it slide with the handbrake and with a heavy foot t/c on or off you can spin all over the place; or take it easy wearing a flat cap with perforated suade driving gloves whilst smoking a pipe.

A Very Good Compromise For Those Wanting A Good Lo
A very good compromise for those wanting a good looking, fast car with it still being practical (Four seats and a boot). The boot is a good size but a little shallow, however the rear seats do fold. You can fit 4 adults in the car as long as their not over 6 foot. Good reliable quick car, fast enough to be fun, with good handling. Relaxed and easy to manage car under 6k rpm, then the cam profile changes and 6k - 8k rpm, extra power, noise and fun. 0-60 in 7 seconds. Excellent GT car for two.
