Damp Tig

Owned my Tigra for 2 years.. After couple months water in boot and both footwells back at dealer, new seals.. no wet... A year on and I now have a wet boot and drivers footwell..I am at a loss as I love my 1.8exl but these problems really are unnecessary.. vauxhall really should recall and repair as it's a known fault..

Has anyone found the cause of the water ingress? As I am aware that I am far from alone with this problem... I have all new seals yet after a year of dryness, the water is back..

Now Contains More Water Than My Aquarium

Sealed around brake servo (mastic had dried out and leaking) , yet still leaks around drivers door seal. All drain holes are clear and speaker is sealed.. Looks as if the inner door lining is non-standard also (i guess been off before we bought it)

Not fit for purpose, a terrible smell, musty and no longer the joy to own as it was originally

Did you find a solution to this problem? Would be really interested to hear what you did... Thanks

This Is My 2nd Tigra. I Owned My Previous Tigra,a

This is my 2nd Tigra. I owned my previous Tigra,a 2006 model, for nearly 3 years and it was taken in to Vauxhall 8 times for a leak in the boot. The guys were baffled and couldn't find the cause of the problem. Eventually I was told that as I parked on a sloping drive, I should reverse on the drive to avoid rain getting in the boot! (This actually worked).

I then asked for a replacement car and was promised that my current car had belonged to a friend of the salesman who had never had a problem with a leak in the boot. I swapped the car, which cost me more than I had wanted to pay, but I really wanted to change the car before the winter. Unfortunately the first heavy rain caused a leak in the boot - when I asked Vauxhall for a refund, they agreed but said there would be some costs involved!

Any suggestions??

ps love this Tigra, it's much nippier than the last model.

They replaced the door trim , door rubbers, door membrain, door mirror gaskets, roof rubbers, boot rubber modification, speakers, carpets, don't get me wrong it seems to have fixed the problem but we hav'nt had much rain yet!!

We Bought Our 1.8 Sport Tigra In October 09 To Rep

we bought our 1.8 sport tigra in October 09 to replace our old tigra. We are really pleased with it and were very surprised at the size of the boot even when the roof is down.

The only problem we had was that it leaks on the drivers door - we were told that it was to do with the speakers not being fitted properly. On invistigation we have found that the top part of the door seal was not "tucked"into the bottom part -this is about eye level on the door frame. Hopefully we have now cured the problem.

In The Nearly Four Years I've Had The Car From New

In the nearly four years I've had the car from new I've had no faults at all. No mechanical problems, no leaks. Maybe I've been lucky. It isn't a sports car, but offers with the top down is fun to drive and looks good. With the top up I suppose it is just a less practical Corsa!

Having Owned The Tigra For Only A Couple Of Weeks,

Having owned the Tigra for only a couple of weeks, im having problems with the boot leaking. The boot matt is saturated every time i open it, also condensating in the cabin is occuring which is leading me to believe it is leaking in their too. Purchased from Vauxhall so will be phoning them now.

All of your reviews have been great help guys!

Q&A

Nadia281183

I got a Vauxhall Tigra 05 convertible a month ago. All is good, it's amazing little car, looks so smart with the roof down. However a week later I noticed after it's been raining, there was water dripping in the car. It seems it's coming from the rubber seals at top of the window. Anyway now there's a damp smell. Can anyone help me?
