Brought this caravan in october email asking for all service report was told they would put in post never arrived , wrong keys to for wheel lock , had to buy a new one also had to buy a new tranformer on first outing , suround over skylight had fallen down a closer inspection it was soaked right through so had to change , skylight leaked still waiting for a reply happy to take your money only had caravan 3months so don't waste your money

Its difficult to know where to start with this review as it has taken me some time to consider if I should write it. However, morally i needed to. I have written anonymously to avoid come back. Not that I expect any. However what I'm writing is 100% factual. Please note we have only used the caravan for a total of 10 overnight stays all local to us.

We bought an expensive over 10K used caravan from Sherwood Oaks Leisure (SOL) after travelling some distance a few months ago and they were lovely at point of sale and collection. They assured us the caravan was fully checked over and supplied a service report including a damp check.

However, my point is this. They offer a 6 month warranty that means you have to return the caravan to them for repair. A short while before the warranty was due to expire we got a caravan club registered service centre to service the caravan and point out any work it may have needed doing. We were in for a significant shock! Recalling that the caravan had been checked over/serviced by SOL we were mortified to discover the following at the service.

The tyres were cracked and over 5 years old. The caravan club recommend they are replaced at 5 years. Ours were 7 years old. Why did SOL not pick this up?

The seal to the back of the fridge was damaged and could leak Carbon Monoxide. Why did SOL not pick this up?

The cooker had one gas ring that would not stay lit. Why did SOL not pick this up?

The damp report showed significant problems. The bathroom required over £800 worth of repairs due to damp. Why did SOL not pick this up?

There were significant cracks in the caravan panels that were allowing water ingress. This panel showed on a damp meter 100% damp! The cost of replacing a new panel and making good that area £3000! Why did SOL not pick this up?

There were other faults but they would identify me to the company which I dont want!

You may ask why I did not contact SOL and ask them to repair? My answer is simple. If they sell a caravan in this state would I trust them to make such significant damage good? Not at all! We have sold the caravan as is and lost thousands. I write this review in the hope that others are very cautious and get any caravan your buying from SOL independently checked. We may have been unlucky but i doubt it.

After looking at the major caravan dealers i found that the service at Sherwood Oaks was far superior when buying a caravan. The staff were extremely helpful, friendly and efficient. The price was very competitive and the van was presented beautifully.Upon collection the van was spotless, the staff took time to explain everything. When the van developed a fault, which was not the fault of Sherwood Oaks but poor manufacturing by Baileys, it was corrected without question and the finished job was better than original.

I can recommend Sherwood Oaks with no hesitation and will return if I decide to change the van in the future.

Had to call firstly for advise on an awning. They couldnt have been more helpful. Placed order and arrived within the week, well package. Great awning for what we needed and pleasure dealing with Sherwood Leisure. The awning was also a great price and couldnt find it cheaper anywhere else!
