Lunar Lexon caravan

We went to Beechwood following a recommendation and poor service elsewhere. Although they were busy (always a good sign) they took time to allow us to look at various caravans. They acknowledged my mobility problems and assisted without fuss. We chose a caravan and the General Manager and his staff made it an easy transaction. Whilst in the process of buying they were very aware of Data Protection issues. The caravan developed a few issues which were repaired under warranty with no problems. They even gave us a free Starter kit although this was our 3rd van.! Our breakaway cable activated (our fault) but they gave us a free new replacement.

If any employer wants to train their statff in customer service skills, send them to spend a day or 2 with these guys. Whatever it costs it will be an excellent investment.

Don't go anywhere else if you're looking for a caravan and are in that part of the country. In fact, travel there anyway. You won't regret it.

We found BWL on line, we visited their site just outside Thirsk and were impressed with the standard of presentation of the caravans and their prices.

When we enquired about a caravan they told us what came with it for the price we would pay, I.e a starter pack plus an awning.

We bought one and when we came to pick in up we had the tour around the caravan and shown how everything worked.

I would recommend any one who is after a caravan to try BWL at Thirsk.

In a nutshell the team were great

No hard sell no pressure ....

They just sat back gave support , advice and let us make our own choices

For us they were pretty much perfect and we would definetaly highly recommend to friends family or anyone else for that matter

The sales area is set in a neat and tidy environment they have vans in stock to suit most pockets

A realistic deposit secures the one you want on collection day your caravan is set up and the guys talk you through and demonstrate every last detail

We left the sakes area satisfied with a smile on our faces

Three days ago we bought a caravan from Beechwood Leisure near Thirsk in North Yorkshire. It was our first purchase from a dealer and although they are not a main dealer or a franchised dealer, the level of service we received was far above what we might have expected.

No hard sell, no pressure, just friendly advice, a willingness to go the extra mile and honest to goodness value for money.

We received lots of extra items with the van (even a brand new full awning!) and a comprehensive handover from a very knowledgeable and friendly member of staff.

I would have no hesitation in recommending this company to any potential caravan purchaser!

Ignore the customer satisfaction blurb that the owners spill to you while they're giving you the "second hand car salesman act"

This company sold us a caravan that had a major fault which had been covered up, the first time it rained the fault became noticeable. We contacted Elddis and they stated that the caravan required as a re-skin and was not fit for purpose.

We informed Beechwood about this within 21 days and there response was that they thought in their expert opinion it was just cosmetic and as such they conducted a repair which can only be described as horrendous.

The caravan was now not only fit for purpose but looked an eyesore, decals were now missing and not replaced.

Please bare in mind this wasn't a cheap caravan £12000 and was in fact a dream caravan for us, so you can imagine our distress and discontent when after 6 months of the most unprofessional correspondence you have ever seen or heard, we had to sell the caravan back for £1000 less than we had paid (easy money for Beechwood). We couldn't afford to go to court and my partner became ill so this was our only option.

Upon arriving to pick the caravan from our premises, the employee of Beechwood showed a lot of empathy to our cause and stated he wouldn't have been happy having paid so much for the van.

He also stated that the owner had a personal "bee in his bonnet" about ourselves and our van, from receiving this information we can see from the correspondence that this rings true.

Beechwood staggeringly gave me permission to share my correspondence with whoever I liked and as such I'm sharing this with all social media, website reviews such as Thomson, yell, etc, friends, family and the many associated caravan rally's we have joined.

We have also instructed trading standards to look into this case, and practical caravan magazine and other caravan magazines have been given all correspondance.

No family should have to go through what we have endured over the last 6 months just because someone has a "bee in his bonnet". We hope this honest and accurate review will help people out as this nightmare episode could potentially be yours.
