Do Not Use Leisureworld Catterick !!

DO NOT USE LEISUREWORLD !!

Useless company who disregard the LAW !!

I purchased a brand new Motorhome from Leisureworld York on 2/9/24. They cleaned my vehicle prior to collection and scratched every window yes every one !!

We had just sold our house and planned to go travelling in our new Motorhome but so many faults and it clearly is not fit for purpose so l have asked for a refund under the 2015 section 22 Short Term Right to Reject which means as a consumer I am entitled to a full refund within the first 30 days as the Motorhome is not of satisfactory quality or fit for purpose.

COMPLETELY ignored this rule and refused to give me a refund .

I will now instruct solicitors and pursue through the courts unless common sense prevails. I will continue to put my experience on every social media platform available to me !!

Warranty Work

I wish I had read the reviews before dealing with this company. We had a leaking shower tray issue with a Burstner camper van we bought new from a dealer quite a distance from home. We contacted Catterick as they were the nearest Burstner dealer to see if they could do the warranty work. It involved them inspecting the van and then getting the claim verified by Burstner for them to proceed. Anyway, to cut a long story short after inspecting they declined to carry out the warranty work and directed us to our original dealer. However on returning our van they said our kitchen tap does not work ( absolutely nothing wrong with it when we dropped it off ). I’ve tried several emails just asking for an explanation and nothing back but radio silence! Think best you avoid this lot.

First Class Experience

Good experience from start the finish. This wasn't the only dealer we visited, so our view(s) can be balanced against the wider market.

We made contact via the website contact page, and he came back within the working day, ran through the caravans and deals available, and arranged a viewing for the next weekend.

No pressure sales approach, just a willingness to assist! We purchased a high spec caravan for a cracking price, and even took advantage of the £1000 accessories voucher.

Both are a credit to the company. Again, very knowledgeable, and took the time to walk through the features. I haven't towed for years, so the pointers were very welcome!

Highly recommended, thanks Gents (and the free cake & tea people)!

Repair

Wouldn’t trust to repair a shopping trolley, treated our van with total disrespect ,damaged more than they were supposed to repair, keeping customer informed was non existent.

Don’t Buy From This Company. Seriously, Don’t.

They couldn’t care less after the sale. When you spend cica £83k on something, it should do as it says on the tin. I haven’t the time or inclination to list everything that was wrong with our motor home, it would simply take too long. We’ve resorted to having things put right (at additional expense) ourselves. Some warranty parts are still not here 8 months after purchase (nothing they can do, supplier issues. (Yawn). Even though our service guy can get them within a few days BTW.

Buy from this Company at your peril. Absolutely not alone in this. Read the reviews. This really isn’t a one off, we’ll be ok scenario. You will be shafted.

If Auther Daley sold caravans or motor homes. He’d have worked for this outfit. In fact, he probably owns the place.

Motorhome Purchase

I bought a motorhome from this company in July 2022, I paid £52,995 for this vehicle, which was my life time savings. I part exchanged a caravan, I had an estimated valuation of £13,000. for my caravan from this company. When I took my caravan for the sales staff to explore, I was advised it had damp in the bathroom area and they did not fix damp, however they offered to contact a local tradesmen who offered me £12,500. I agreed to this, I was told by the sales man that my caravan would be collected the next day by a local trades person, however when I attended Catterick over the next few months my caravan remained on the forecourt. My caravan is now advertised on their website for the sum of £17,995. I have just contacted Cattrick sales and spoke to the manager, I have asked to be reimbursed of £500, he refused to give me any money. I would not recommend this company to anyone, completely untrustworthy.

Beware Of This Company

We had a warranty issue on our new van and were informed by the Tyneside branch that their staff had limited skills and we would have to go to another dealer which was a 500 mile round trip from our home. This was at a cost to ourselves and 3 days at a hotel while the repair was done, price of fuel, meals etc. The other dealer did do a excellent job but it was 5 days out our life with 2 full days of 250miles drive and mileage added to our vehicle. WE WERE REFUSED ANY COMPENSATION from this company. If you buy from this company they may send you anywhere in the uk for warranty work and even charge you to process the work like what happened to us. BEWARE

Hi I have added a review to Trust Pilot thanks

Hi sorry you also used catterick caravans. I can’t even begin to tell you haw bad they are. You should post on Google and trustpilot. The more bad reviews they get the better. Read my 2 reviews on trustpilot. They say that they will sit down and discuss it but they won’t. Disgusting company.

I also had a very negative experience with this company, at Catterick branch, I purchased a motorhome and part exchanged a caravan, they had estimated £13,000 for the part exchange, then told us our caravan had damp and they did not repair damp, they advised they had contacted a local trader who would give us £12.500. I agreed to this, sales man said the trader would collect the caravan the following day. The caravan remained on their forecourt for months following our purchase and is now advertised on their web sight for sale. This company is dishonest and untrustworthy. I have contacted the sales manager today and he has refused any reimbursement. comment date 05/12/22.

Shambles Of A Company

Quick to take your money until you find faults on a new caravan or motor home. Aftercare non existent. Customer service shockingly poor. Our service experience a disaster. Faults pointed out not found during service. Black oil marks from boots left on seats and caravan put back in storage compound without Alco locks put back on for security. Totally disinterested owner walked past me three times when i stood instore at catterick for over an hour attempting to get things resolved.

Avoid!

Very Poor On Trade In Deals

I visited their site and I was very interested in a motorhome they had in stock, enquired about part exchange and they said they were happy to take caravans, I asked for a quote which they duly supplied.

Prior to this I looked at a different van and was offered £17k part ex and another dealer offered £16k on the exact same vehicle as Catterick yet they came back at £12.5k and did not want to negotiate.

Just looking to make big profits on both ends of the deal if you ask me.

Fantastic

Went to Catterick caravans to take a look and ended up purchasing a Challenger 560. The sales staff went beyond duty to get it ready for BH weekend (3 days) Picked it up, got shown totally around caravan and how it worked. (this bit I was worried about) went away for weekend and had a great time. Faultless service, everything worked and lovely van. From the sales staff to the shop staff, faultless service. Would definately recommend to anyone shopping for a caravan or accessories.

Q&A

plangdon23

I am about to buy a £41,500 roller team motorhome from catterick caravans after what seems like a good deal at the camping and caravan show Feb 2017. I was told that finance of £20,000 is in place. However I do not have any paperwork to confirm this and the sales person tells me it has all been put in place and paperwork is not given out anymore and everything will be fine.

I have asked for her to confirm this in an email but so far nothing.

The only correspondence from the company only shows the full amount to be paid into a foriegn bank account.

I would like to know if anyone else has been offered finance only to find it is not in place when they arrive to collect their vehicle?
