After Sales Service Atrocious
DO NOT USE WANDAHOME
We bought our Elddis Rambler from Knottingley
We were so excited with the new van from Wandahome they were really nice to us when we purchased the caravan
But the after sales service is diabolical if you can get past the rotweiller on reception
We we’re on holiday laid in bed and water started coming in we had a leak at the back of the caravan
We stuck this up with duck tape till we got back
We moved house out of the area about 2 hours journey away and had to take the caravan back in January to knottingley after waiting 3months for the part
We went on a 10 week tour of Scotland and I noticed the wardrobe at the back of the caravan the clothes were really damp and we had to move clothes into car
The damp bag were filling up really quick
When we came back we had our service locally and it was found the sealing of the leak had not been done properly it was still leaking we paid to get this done at our local service centre
I contacted wandahome who refused to pay us a refund for the bad workmanship that they had done
Disgusting !!!
We have also had to buy 2 pumps but again they refused to pay under warranty I don’t know how they get away with this after sales service the woman who answers the phone is really abrupt and unhelpful and rude
I noticed now all the bad reviews with wandahome can they keep getting away with taking our money
I will never buy anything from them ever again
Please please think very carefully from buying from this company
How can they get away with this all the time

Wheel Left Loose?
Having taken our caravan for a full service to Wandahome at Knottingley in October, I still cannot believe There so called approved Technician left the near side wheel nuts so loose the wheel was at an steep angle when brought round for collection.
Worst of all there technician ticked the box and signed it to confirm he had torque and checked the wheels?
My question is what else have they ticked and not done in the service? and also because of the wheel being at such a steep angle as it compromised the axle or threads and nuts?
We have not taken our caravan out since the service, we have waited patiently for a response from Wandahome and approvedworkshops which we have both emailed but no response from either? Obviously they do not care or interested?
If it was not for the workshop manager spotting it at the last minute, it could have been a total life threatening disaster not just for us but other people!
One would have thought for safety reasons they would have recalled it to recheck it?

Awnings
The buying of both the caravan and accessories have been trouble free. My problem was being guided by the awnings salesman and ending up with an awning that doesn't fit my caravan To rub salt into the wound I allowed him to erect the awning which, upon reflection, was another mistake. She provide clear instructions on how to erect an awning which the salesman didn't follow.
I now have a seasonal awning the is both too big and probably wouldn't last the winter without collapsing. I will be trying to fix these problems myself which is what I didn't want to do.

Awning Sales
Would highly recommend the agent if you want a awning, very knowledgeable nothing too much trouble went back twice and he made sure we got the correct product.
First class service.
Please Please Avoid
The after sales is so disgusting it’s hard to believe just how bad they really are . The so called technicians are just a bodge it team , that is when you eventually get any work done . They have no respect for your your caravan that you have just paid £25000 for . They just totally bodge jobs in the hope that you will accept it and when you don’t OMG look out !!!! I have emails and photos to prove exactly how bad wondahome really are ! Avoid at all cost !!!!!!’
Awful After Sales
Like all caravan sales they are wonderful and can't do enough for you when they are wanting your money. Our Elddis developed a leak in April unfortunately the front beds get wet even in mild wet conditions. Our local caravan sales Cattrick caravans wouldn't even look at it because we had not purchased the van from them even though we had tried, but they could
not supply the model we wanted at the time , we have purchased from them before that was the first dissappointment. In order to put a warranty claim in we then had to do a150miles round trip back to Wandahome knottingley for some one to look at the van and stick duck tape all round the front. While the warranty claim went in, I have contacted them several times since April to see how long this may take on a few occasions I was told some parts had arrived but they were still waiting for Elddis to supply the rest, then early August I contacted them again to see if they were not able to repair the van before the end of August would they hire a caravan because we were due to take our grandchildren away and I didn't want to disappoint them It was then I was informed that I had not supplied the written work for 2019 service they had proof that the book had been stamped but not the service history even though they had all the past and 2020 service history , it was at this point I was told that they hadn't even put in a claim for us, when I said I had been told on at leat two occasions that they had some parts and waiting for others the person in Aftersales told me that I wouldn't have been told that, I must say I felt as they were accusing me of lying, at that point I asked them to listen to previous telephone conversations as they recorded calls, later that afternoon Wandahome called back and said yes she accepted that I had been given that information unfortunately thay had two customers with the same name !! We are now coming into October I have just managed to get through to Elddis (Hymer) the receptionist told me that there still is no claim in for our van and they have hundred emails outstanding just from September . I am untterly appalled and very stressed with the Aftersales at Wandahome and the quality of caravans today , yes you get a 10 year warranty at this rate the warranty will have expired .

Awful Aftersales
On 22.06.2020 we parted with alot off hard earned cash and bought our very 1st brand new 2020 elddis rambler 22fb when we picked it up we felt we were rushed round the van when we got the van on site we discovered a big scratch on one window that is inbetween the double glazing reported it straight away and was told 12 week waiting list for a new one we thought ok its now october and we never hear anything from the company unless we chase them were constantly being fobbed off next step is the MD and the omnibudsman and trading standards aftersales is absolutly none existant STAY CLEAR OFF THIS COMPANY
Atrocious Aftercare
Bought a new 2020 model caravan from Wandahome, first three trips had problems with the water pump. Whalemaster suggested I return to the retailer for a replacement under the warranty, that’s when the issues started. Flatly refused to swap the faulty one without testing it, even though the fault was intermittent and would have been impossible to test at the dealer.
I live 70 miles away from them but was asked to bring it back and wait whilst it was tested, then told that if they could not find a fault, they would do nothing. Clearly, I was not to be believed, even though they would have been able to get themselves a replacement from Whalemaster ( I checked after the phone call!) .
I was told that they , “had to test everything, otherwise everyone would take advantage of them” What a brilliant attitude towards their Customers!!!
For the sake of a £20 piece of kit ( cost price) they have lost any future business from me, potentially thousands of pounds when we change the van! Good business sense, NOT!
Seems to me they are only interested in the initial sale, and after that, only interested in hiding behind rules, refusing to take any responsibility for any faults, even those covered by the warranty....”computer says No”.
My advice would be to look for a dealer that feels responsible for their Customers, rather than just caring about how much they spend in the first place....definitely not Wandahome!

Excellant Service
Visited the caravan show at the NEC in October 2019 - after looking at many caravans we decided on the Coachman Wanderer which was on the Wandahome Knottingley stand. The salesman we dealt with was very informative and not all pushy - unlike some of the other salesmen on other stands!! He gave us a very good deal with some added extras and we got a very fair price for our caravan on part exchange. We were due to pick up the new caravan over Easter this year but couldn't due to lockdown!! We were kept well informed by Wandahome as to when we would be able to pick up and eventually we finally went to collect it on the 5th July. Our old caravan was taken away for inspection and we were then seen by another man - great guy! We were then shown around our new caravan by this man who was really helpful and answered all of our questions. The price we were given at the caravan show on our old caravan was only reduced by £250 - due to a crack in the front window - so again, another plus for Wandahomes.
From the very start of picking our caravan at the show to picking it up from Knottingley was a great experience and would highly recommend this dealership to anyone.
