Necht Gy 125

WHat can i say its a cheap bike and like most things in life you pay ya money ya takes ya choice! if your looking spend around £500 on a secondhand motor bike then its not going to be the best build quality! however i just brought a 55 plate model with a years tax and a years MOT for £500 it had 154 miles on the clock and apart from the usual corrosion its brilliant! i spent around £35 changin the oil, spark plug and putting some decent mirrors on it then set about with the silver hammerite and some satin black spray paint and she looks like new! easy to ride, pretty nippy and great MPG! Home servicing and tuning is easy if your a little mechanically minded and as long as you traet it right it will stand the test of time! If you ask me its great value for money and a hal decent looking geared bike to get you inyo the world of biking would deffinately recomend to anyone just starting out or someone looking too greenlane or communte! Dont be put off by other people take a look at one and have a test ride it cant hurt!!!!!!

Stay Well Away!!!

I owned one of these nails a couple of years ago, first of all the whole chinese import range are bad but this is probably one of the worst, the vibration u get through the pegs while riding is horrific thus this viration causes no end of damage to shoddy welding of metal fixings and poor quality bolts, the engine is rattley and way down on power compared to a japanese counterpart,i really could waffle on for 4 days on how bad these chinese imports are,it makes me cringe evrytime i see one, take it from me a ten year old jap bike smashes the back door in on a brand spanking new chinese,i made the mistake of buying one and that taught me this lesson,i currently have a suzuki drz 400 sm and what a fricking mpiece of machinery it is.Guys spend a bit more and u wont be sorry, the morale of this story is you only get what u pay for.

I Think The Bike Is Awsome I Havent Had Any Probla

i think the bike is awsome i havent had any problams with mine all i have had to do is chain the gears and chains when i brought it second hand never had any problems with it easy. It handles well in any coditions i would get another anyday

the only bad thing was that the preivous owner had extended the kick stand which broke a 5 weeks after buying it but apart from that its a well built bike reccomend it to anyone just tell them to make sure to ask the owner if they have had any problems if buying it second hand if not, not to worry

same problem, bikes is pritty good for price, i also got mine secound hand, and found it had offroad sprockets on it, have ordered new ones and id recomed putting a bit of innertube ruber betwen the tank and plastics as it dose vibrat alot. apart from that its a nice bike, would also recomend taking out the 95 main jet and changing to a 110, i personaly went and got a 26mm molket carb witch had a 110 in already

I Had An 04 Hongdou Gy125, Never Again Would

i had an 04 hongdou gy125, never again

would have liked to know not to get one before i did

Good points: never had a problem with the engine, thats about it

bad points: i had to charge the battery daily, the swing arm went dead after a few weeks and left a lot of side to side play, replaced that, throttle cable snapped, fuse blown, speedo cable went, i had to tweak it to get 60mph. Get one at your own risk

I Have Had A Hongdou Gy125 For 7 Months Now And I

i have had a Hongdou GY125 for 7 months now and i am scared to ride it every day. it falls apart and gear box is knackered and it rattles all the time it gives you a headache.

the bike itself is still rubbish. never in my life have i come across such a slow accelerating bike and for top speed its stupid. 53mph is the best i have ever had out of it and i had a moped that could go faster. it doesnt bother me as i got the bike for £200 but i can see why someone would sell it for so little money. you wouldnt want to GIVE this bike away let alone take someones money. as soon as i fix my GS500E this bike is going straight into the scrap yard!

I Got A Hongdou Gy125 Bike For £600.

I got a hongdou GY125 bike for £600.

it's a self assembly job, and the instructions are a bit useless, but if you can figure it out it only take a few hours to build.

None of the bolts are lock-tite'd in,

first trip out, I got literally ten meters up the road and had to push the bike back as the gear shift retaining bolt had come out.

replaced that bolt and had no trouble there ever since.

crank casing bolts came out at speed causing the crank case to fall into the chain and jam against the engine, nearly getting me wiped out by an HGV on a busy duel carriageway.

The kick stand switch fell off, meaning that the bike couldn't be started until it was re-attached.

I've had a few engine bolts sheer, mostly always the same bolt and have since considered that this was due to over tightening the chain, causing unnecessary strain on the bolt heads.

I've found that the battery does not retain charge at all. and thus have to rely on the kick start, which usually starts the bike on the first kick.

The rear light has always been a pain, it uses dual filament bulbs so the tail light and brake light are combined in one bulb, but the smaller filament for the tail light doesn't hold up well to the vibrations on the bike and needs to be replaced all the time, (and you don't usually find out until it's dark and you need it!).

As I tried to allude earlier, most of these faults could have been prevented with a little care and a tube of lock-tite to affix the bolts before I started riding the machine.

Other than that, I'm in my third year of ownership, I've done nearly 10,000 miles, it's stood up to being crashed twice, the tyres, brakes and engine have never let me down.

Having gone round and secured all the bolts with lock-tite (As I should have done to start with). I've not had a problem at all in the past two years. -the bike has always started and always got me where I wanted to go.

it's economical, and handles well.
