I Bought A Sachs Xtc 125cc 4 Stroke 5 Weeks Ago An

i bought a sachs xtc 125cc 4 stroke 5 weeks ago and it was love at first sight. loved the look and sound of the bike right away.but 5 weeks later and the engine has blown and i cant get a replacement engine anywhere it has big spark plug problems. basically im warning people to stay clear of these bikes they look great but if anything goes wrong and believe me it will you will be left with egg on your face as there is no where to buy the parts required. please listen if you dont wanna be out of pocket.

I brought a bike in april 2011. Once again as most people say it was love at first sight. I then crashed it on the first day i brought it due to an impossible ride.

It has taken me over 3 months to buy the parts required with still no luck on finding a screen. You can only buy the parts from sachs breakers as the parts are rare ( Sachs have stopped making and shipping them to the uk!!)

You would be better of buying a bike based in the uk if you are an unexperienced rider due to if you crash and want something replaced there is a VERY SMALL chance you will get the part you want!!

Great Learner Legal Bike, Holds Its Own In Looks A

Great learner legal bike, holds its own in looks and has a few notches up on the style indicator even when compared with some of the larger 600cc models out there.

I had a modified scorpion end can on my exhaust system and the growl it gave was very impressive.

Shame they took these bikes out of production i would have loved to have seen the next few generations of this bike.

I Have Had My Sachs Xtc 125 For One Year, And Boug

I have had my Sachs XTC 125 for one year, and bought it with just 500 miles on the clock and have now done 8500km and the bike has never missed a beat. I have ridden the bike in the wet and not had 'wet spark plug' or 'water in fuel tank' problems which other owners have had. Some bikes that are for sale appear to be messed around with - so watch out when you go to buy one.

Minor points:

- Consumes lots of oil - so check regularly.

- Cold starts are sometimes difficult, but never a problem in tempreatures above 5-8 degrees celcius.

- It is uncomfortable for long journeys (the seat is high with low handlebars, your weight is on your shoulders, arms and wrists)

- The seat has very thin foam, so painful bum common on long journeys.

- Dont crash it! Difficult to get hold of parts. Spares do appear on ebay, but you dont always find what you need.

- visibility out of standard mirrors is poor (need to move elbows to actually see through them - and they're tiny). You do get used to it, but you can buy many aftermarket mirrors.

- 0-60 feels fast, but actually takes around 10 seconds (I have never measured this myself though!)

Good points:

- £20 petrol = 350-400 miles

- Easy to service yourself, and Motul Oil and the oil filter will cost no more than £20

- I crashed mine doing kneedowns on roundabout, and the rear wheel broke, but no damage to fairings or any other part of the bike. The farings are VERY thick plastic (it is a strong bike).

- Have suzuki FX125 engines, good for 80mph and constant red-lining!

- Easy bike to work on, nothing complicated

- Stainless steel Braided brake hoses are standard!

Conlusion: Nice, stylish, reliable and fun bike once you get used to the minor points I have mentioned. People always confuse it for 400cc. Sounds good for a 125cc!

PS: WEMOTO and 3 Cross motorcycles are good places to see parts prices. The bike has its own dedicated Forum too

Hope you enjoyed the review, and good luck with whatever you end up buying!

I Bought My Sachs Xtc Racing Brand New At The End

i bought my sachs xtc racing brand new at the end of 04, since that time its had to have 2 replacement fuel tanks as faulty ones were fitted ( causing petrol leaks ) so its now on its 3rd tank, bearings went in the front and back wheels and that was not through general wear and tear, the bike has only just done 28000 kilometres ( 4 years later ) and is serviced on a regular basis. also the engine diaphram had to be replaced in early 2008 as i was getting hardly any power from the bike( mainly top speeds of 35mph). personally i think i've been very unfortunate with this brand of bike and will be glad to see the back of it.
