Shineray Xy 125- 14 Iie

I have owned a shineray XY 125- 14 IIE road bike for five years and it has had a new battery and some new bulbs. It has been good quality for the price, when buying a Chinese bike it is important to get one that has been put together by a reliable mechanic and importantly had its electrics tested and installed by someone who knows what they are doing. From what I have read it is also best going for the more expensive Chinese bikes. Mine is mainly alloy and plastics and has a Honda engine.

With This Model.

Good Points:

1 The engine (better acceleration than other 125s I have been on and uses very little fuel) 2 The riding position (It is ok to make long journeys) 3 The Price 4 The reliability has exceeded my expectations.

Bad Points.

1 The Wheels are quite narrow 2 The Part of the exhaust that isn't ally has started to rust 3 The headlights are not very bright 4 taking the plastic panels off to assess the battery etc for maintenance is fiddly.

I Have To Say I Was Very Wary Of Cheap Chinese Bik

I have to say I was very wary of cheap chinese bikes, i used to ride a 600n bandit but needed something for the winter earlier this year (we all remember how bad that was in england). Only had a few issues, Speedo stopped working as did the rev counter, headlight failed massively but replaced it with a twin lamp setup which was perfect and only cost about £18 on ebay!! However the best part about this crappy little off roader was how well it held itself in the snow, granted when i bought it initially i had the idle speed problem, fixed that within the first day of 2ft flames firing out of the back!! But back to the snow!!!

For the full winter duration i had no issues with this bike, well i say no issues apart from trying to start in the freezing cold off of the electrics... but kick it over twice and leave it for 10 minutes and you're sorted, excellent fun for the winter and i'm annoyed i got rid of it after the snow cleared up!! will be buying a new one for sure :)

Had To Sell My Car To Pay Bills So I Needed A Chea

Had to sell my car to pay bills so i needed a cheap runaround.Saw shineray on ebay and thought i would take a chance.Battery is rubbish and the bike will not tickover at 1500 rpm.The engine also drops of at 2000 rpm and stalls or eventually picks back up.When riding i can feel the engine missing a lot also seems to be burning too much fuel as it keeps popping.

All in all i wish i had the cash for a japanese bike especially when it comes to the manual, the one for shineray is a bit vague to say the least.

I wish i had done more research before i bought.

I Bought My Shineray About 6 Weeks Ago - And I Hav

I bought my Shineray about 6 weeks ago - and I have had no real problems with it. I only use it on the road, so no major bumps and jumps - perhaps this helps it stay together! Though I guess if you throw a bike around - things will rattle and potentially drop off. It starts first time with both electric or kick; and idles well at about 2k. Great value and good fuel consumption for quite a big 125cc (about 100miles to a tank - possibly a touch more). They look good, in fact a few folk have commented on the impressive look. It sounds good too. Top end speed is average - but it is a biggish 125cc - so you're looking at around 60mph - in honesty, around the city - it's ample for me. I hadn't ridden a geared motorcycle for a long time, and picked it up fine - with it handling really well.

Overall - really pleased I got it.

Bought My Shineray Xy 125 Gy Because It Was Cheap,

bought my shineray xy 125 gy because it was cheap, due to having my old yam rxs 100 written off. had problems from day 1.

1. exhaust snapped twice

2. speedo stopped working

3. rev counter stopped working

4. developed flat spot on front rim so front end bounces up and down

5.must have replaced atleast 50 bolts, housings are shoddy keep rattling loose

6. break light casing fell off mid ride. (had to but a tail tidy)

7. tyres are nylon. no grip in wet plus wear easily had to replace the front after 1500 miles

8. retaining nuts fell off rear sprocket and thread is dodgy size to find to replace.

9. battery packed in after about 3 months so had to start using kickstart.

10. kick leaver rattles like mad at 25mph plus sounds like bike rattling apart

11. developed earth fault pretty much straight away so when indicating headlight goes bright and dim in time.

12. hand guards snapped off (handlebar brackets not good)

13. fuel tank loose

14. tiny fuel tank had to fill it every 3 days

15. expensive to insure cost me 350 for tpft only cost 120 for most other bikes

DONT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE I DID!!!!!!

save up and buy japanese.

Terrible Build Quality. Faced With Having To Quick

Terrible build quality. Faced with having to quickly pick up a cheap bike for transport to a new job I had to opt for a Chinese bike. The Shineray XY125VE was the first one that presented itself within my price range. I wish I had stuck to using buses. The build quality is awful. The electrics fail repeatedly, even if they didnt fail how many bikes do you know have the hazard lights come on when the brakes are applied? The engine has even moved backwards in the frame twice within 2 weeks. I can move the handlebars up and down and the rust is creeping in pretty quick and mines kept indoors in my home. Terrible bike, even with new replacement parts it doesnt run right. Save up and by Japanese.
