Reliable, Robust, Economical Easy To Maintain.

I have owned my Suzuki en125 2a since june 2019 and i use it 6 days a week every week aand it had not let me down!

The bike is reliable starts every morning even in the cold winter. I ride allweather conditions apart from when it snows, it handles well in the rain wind and cold icy roads (watch out for black ice on metal grid manhole covers).

i bought my bike for £420 fitted two michelins, new sprokets and chain, new carbretur, and serviced the bike.so i spent £270 and well worth the money as the bike had never missed a beat.

Sailed through the m.o.t and has been great since the bike had done 17,000

When i bought it and now has 21500 on the clock and is still really a pleasure to ride.

Its cheap to tax, very cheap to insure and i get 200 miles on £10 no problem and thats not taking it easy going through the gears.

It sails through the gears to 55mph with ease and sits at 10rpm 65mph on a flat road and will quite happily sit there i dont go above 50mph due to my route

If your having problems with speed on this bike i reccomend to buy and fit a new carburettor its easy to do and the cost of the part is cheap on ebay

Only bad point is the seating height i am 6ft tall, the bike is on the low side, but i am aware its a learner commuter bike, hense to help with confidence.

What more do you want from a learner commuter bike

Really good fun bike to ride A to B is great.

A Reliable Workhorse, But Underpowered.

I have owned a Suzuki EN125 (2004 model) for 7 years and have driven it over 30,000 miles in British weather conditions. I agree with previous reviewers - the bike does take a while to warm-up in cold weather, and it is underpowered. The top speed of the bike is 50-55mph, but if you live in a rural (hilly) area you will struggle to keep up with traffic as you go uphill and have to change down into second or third gears.

Despite these shortcomings, the EN125 is cheap, well-built and reliable. I have never had any electrical or light failures when riding at night, and the engine is rock-solid. I have had a couple of punctures whilst riding, and the gear shifter fell off once when I was driving home. But I think that these issues were down to old-age and wear, rather than due to any inherent faults with the design. The bike has a good finish, and is not rust-prone. If something does go wrong, replacement parts are cheap and easy to find on ebay. The center stand means that replacing the chain, sprockets and tyres is simple.

The EN125 has great fuel economy, and I regularly get more than 80mpg. The ride is comfortable, and the rear shocks are responsive without being too soft. I would recommend this bike to beginners or experienced riders looking for a cheap ride. I paid £800 for my EN125, and it has lasted because I take care of it and service it myself every year. But beware, the lack of speed/power does make you feel a little vulnerable on the road.

Gs125 or gn125 been around since noah built the ark, easier to swap whole engine if major damage or look on ebay for scrap dealers. If money no object then your not so local suzuki dealer will be happy to relieve you of your cash.

Do you know which other Suzuki it gets its engine from?

I am trying to find parts

Thanks

I think your en 125 was in bad condition because with my en 125 i do 100km/h with a rear passenger.

Lacks Quality & Finish

Not the worst but no where near the best, starting & some idling problems finish on the crome & paintwork is only just better than chinese copys. Left out in bad weather for awhile & you have to keep it constantly clean to stop corrosion. Overpriced & trying hard to compete with yamaha ybr & honda cg125, fails on all counts. Shame as cheap parts are used & spoils what should be a good bike. You might as well buy chinese at least its half the price & same quality built.

Great First Starter Bike!

Bought this bike 3 months ago after getting my CBT. I love this bike, it handles well, it is reliable and fun to ride. The only problem I have had with it is it does need the engine warming up before you ride it or it does tend to cut out on you. I have done 4,000 miles on my bike in such a short space of time, I go off on rides with other bikers (often long runs) and this bike just keeps going!(having said that I bought it brand new 13 plate!). The only other thing is it is under powered going up hills and other 125's tend to over take you uphills however, you can soon catch up as this little bike can soon increase its power once at the top of any hill!

Nice Beginner's Bike

Am writing from Singapore.

Gotten my license 6 months ago and then gotten this almost 9 year old bike (done 49,000 km since year 2004) recently.

My first one.

Sent for a major servicing and changed a lot of stuff.

Starting the bike after parked for one or two days seems to be a problem.

It idles for a couple of second and stalls.

I can feel / hear that the idle is 'weak' or the engine is 'lacking' something.

Sometimes if it idles, it will also stall once I throttle it.

I then realised that i have to start a few more times and let the idle 'warm up' the engine.

Once its warmed up, the bike runs fine and smooth.

Will try to send the bike back to the workshop for a checkup soon.

Cheers !
