Such A Nice Bike
Cracking little bike, love the extra storage space too. Only gripe, is small fuel tank , small wheels and if you're 6ft tall it can be a bit tight when turning. But one thing I'm surprised at is, this bike is incredibly comfortable on long journeys. Can do 50 miles in one hit and feel like you have only ridden 5, way better than my previous Honda lead in every way. I had a issue when bike wouldn't go above 50 mph, a new drive belt solved that and now it does 65mph, which for a air-cooled bike is incredible. Get one, you won't regret it and there's loads out there with low mileage going for pretty cheap.

Vity 125
I bought this in July 2015 so almost year now.
The bike a 4 Stroke does run great there is storage space to fit helmet if needed rack at back to fit top box dash designed like car key in all lights up etc.
Bad points are small size wheels think 10 inch another Is small fuel tank this model 5.5 litre so fueling can be regular.
The last bad thing is please note if you are tall like me 6ft or above you will struggle the seat is very low at 730mm my Peugeot was 800mm the struggle is turning and putting feet on floor my knees close to horn yes I made a big mistake now I will learn to check the seat size before I buy.

Amazing Yammi Vity125
Cant fault this bike, not had long but absolutely love it, done upto 65mph and does roughly 100mpg.
Don't listen to all the people that put this bike down, its quick from a stand still, easy to manoeuvre around town and in rural areas, and quick enough to go on the dual carriage way.
It has all the usual bits i.e fuel gauge, main kick stand, side stand and front disc brake and the rest.
This bike has some best bits though which is the bike rack is already there for a top box, a key guard which stops thief's braking the ignition and the weather getting in, lastly it has petrol cap guard.
At the end of the day you can't knock the price, built quality, engine and ride!

Great Cheap And Reliable (once The Fuel Pumps Replaced)
Bought my Vity may this year, and in the summers exceesive heat, i was having trouble starting it after it had been running for half an hour. Took it to Paul Reeks Motorcycles in fulham who explained that due to additive changes in the fuel the fuel pump o ring wasnt doing its job. Yamaha are covering the cost of a new pump, I just had to pay for labour. This was excellent news as it costs about £300 for a new pump, and seeing as i only paid 700, it was alot of money. Yamaha are covering vitys upto 2008 apparently, maybe older if the mileage was low, mine was only on 3000. Since this glitch I have been using is nearly every day to travel the 32 mile round trip to work and back, and no issues other than my own negligence. I forgot to check the oil and didnt change it at the stated point, so it died on me halfway home after riding it for probably double the reccommended mileage per oil change. However i changed it, turned it over a few times and hey presto it was up and runngin again. Quality little machine and does all it needs and more. its got the power to squeeze through traffic moving too sedately, but is excellent for fuel economy, especially if you limit yourself to 55-60.
I recently bought & sold a 2012 Vity 125 & had a similar experience - even a warm day would cause the bike starting failure. This is in direct contrast to the 1st time starting in colder conditions.
I had the fuel pump replaced & all the work paid for as the bike was still in the 2 Year Warranty period - excellent Yamaha.
I sold the scoot immediately afterwards with the new owner knowing the whole story.
have axc125e yamahaVity in summer it went after i stopped at a shop got on it would not go thought it over heated left it for 2hours still would not go left it over night with some body went there next morning went right away drove 40minutes stop half a hour then would not start again left it till next day started right away and so an so never started when the engine was hot.left it in with a yamaha dealer in Dorset st 60 O reilly Dublin he said i need a new pump cost 300 could not get pump in Ireland they had none in Holland sent to Japan that was 5 months ago it is still with the dealer.my advice dont buy a Vity
Terrible Experience And Ti Waster
This scooter has some problem with its flue pump. It does not start when weather is to hot or when engine is hot after riding bike for more then 20 minutes. I have already spend money by changing some parts before actual problem was detected. There is no solution, i shall have to scrap the bike.
Waste of money and time!
h ave the same trouble cant get new pump and cost 300 never again a xc125e vity every time the engine is hot wont start i sympathise with you
thomas harford Dublin never againVity
Yamaha will replace the pump for free, all you have to do is pay the labour. Apparently its due to a change in fuel additives in the last few years meaning the o ring expands when hot, so it leaks. Take it ti a yamaha dealership who know what they are doing, and they will be able to process the warranty no worries.
No Pity In A Vity
I had never ridden a bike or scooter in my life before I bought my Vity. I can't afford to run a car so I looked at a scooter. The Vity is cheap to insure, run and repair. You get the advantages of a years worth of RAC cover and free servicing after 600 miles.
I took my CBT on the day I rode the scooter off the forecourt and into the wild blue yonder. Straight away I felt in control. The low centre of gravity and weight distribution make it easy to corner and control. Great acceleration off the lights means you can get yourself out of trouble in heavy traffic safely.
You ride a Vity with a smile on your face. OK, it's not fast and the tiny wheels mean you are very wary of potholes, but at sensible speeds the Vity is bang on.

Can't Knock It
Having sold my Speed Triple to help pay for a new kitchen I was missing the fun of two wheels and the daily commute on the train was a real pain and expensive. I wondered into West London Yamaha whilst the wife was choosing door knobs or paint at home base next door and 15 mins later had put a deposit down on a Vity...was I mad....I thought so....that was three years and 24 000 miles ago and the Vity has been fantastic.....I use it every day, round trip of approx 60 miles, part 3 lane A road but mainly through central London and it has not missed a beat....
It's been dropped, crashed, even caught up in the student 'riots' on Millbank, been ridden in snow, ice and all weathers and on all but two occasions got me home every time....fantastic....cheap to run, insure and service, unbeatable. My only minor complaint is the size of the fuel tank which means I see the attendant at my local BP frequently enough to exchange Christmas cards and family birthday cards, but that is due to the mileage I do.
West London Yamaha have been fantastic and the service excellent. All round a good experience.
I have sadly today 'upgraded' to a Cygnus X but the Vity and 24k I covered will always be remembered fondly. Buy one.

Yamaha Vity 125
I have ridden yamaha vity for the past 6 months and I can honestly say this is a great bike to start on. I have ridden piaggio 100 and fly 100 before and quite frankly, they cannot compare to vity at all. Yamaha Vity is a very comfortable bike to ride on within the city and does quite a lot of miles on one tank (about 100miles). It is not so comfortable outside the city for longer distances. However doing 20-30 miles one way isn't much of an issue as the big seat is quite comfortable. The only disadvantage about it is probably the top speed. Doing 50-55 on a motorway isn't a very good idea so I would suggest staying within A roads or in the city. Despite the little engine and only 8.5bhp, it does accelerate much better than most 125cc scooters and can put a big smile on your face. I have passed my license on a YBR125 and I don't think ybr can accelerate as good as vity. It is a brilliant bike and I would definitely recommend it. The bike also has a fuel gauge which is a very good thing to have on a bike. Some people are not really bothered but T think it is a nice to have it. Another good feature is the side stand. Once kicked down, it cuts the engine out making it impossible to start the bike with the side stand down. I think it is a nice safety feature to include.

Great Cheap And Simple
Yamaha Vity 125 is a great choice for people looking for a cheap commuter. Its a budget scooter so dont expect the strongest engine, best breaks or comfort. However it will take you from A to B with no hassle, service is cheap and the parts too.
I have had 3 Vitys so far,I sell bikes but also use them. I never had a problem with any of them. The engine is nice and quiet, its fuel injected so it works much nicer than carb scooters, does about 90mpg and the top speed is 55-60. Its enough for a city use. Sometimes my girlfriend goes with me on the back and it still does the job;).
The biggest downside of it are small 10' wheels, which makes the ride quality bad on humps or city roads...it looks ok, doesnt break so I would definately recommend it to anyone not demanding , looking for cheap
commuter.
Q&A
My son just bought a 2011 plate Yamaha Vity 125 yesterday. He was on the way home with it, when it cut out and now it won't start. Can anyone tell us what could be wrong?
