Best Ride Ever
had fxr for many years never had a twin cam very weary of getting one, bought 06 streetbob in 07,600 miles on clock standard except exhaust, went out for test ride thought yea like this but once i bought it and rode it home the 70miles from shop changed my mind instantly,,loved the style and color denim blacmk hated the mid controls ,lack of noise from exhaust and soft suspension, but percevered.bought forward controls duel seat for wife kept shocks and exhaust as couldnt afford much upgrade, bike was a dream to ride loved it ,went to euroep several times had great fun was surprisingly smooth and comfy ride no clunking of gears less vibration, very smooth, then the problems didnt know what a fuel pack was but the previous owner didnt either as didnt fit one, after 2000 miles started running like it was on one pot hot cold all time, this was in germany on a road trip, stopped at friends then left it till morning but then it was totaly ok as if nothing wrong,,was very confused but its a twin cam didnt know jack on them, went home two weeks later same again ,got real ticked off with it took it to harley to put on the computer lo and behold a £400 fuel pack was required what the ?,,since then been great no problems, exhaust was hitting ground all time as soft shocks so once again a rethink on things so upgraded the shocks ,to 412 series progressives £250,,then vance hines big shots£680,but sounds great looks great as changed all chrome for black,"chrome dont get you home"have done over 37,000 miles on this bike and only ride it 6 motnhs of year due to weather in england and harleys cosmetic finishing is totaly not good in our weather,,traveled all over europe east and westwith wife as pillion, she loves it to so comfy,no whinning from her even after some times riding for full 8hrs just stopping for fuel,,no worries or troubles but then the stator went on me along with rotor, twice as rotor bolts sheared off both times at £350 a time it got expensive so upgraded for later model which doesnt have bolts as its all welded in one piece so lets see how this goes but then looking on videos of changing the stator/rotor i found out have to take inner and outer cases off to fit it,,total disbeleif as later 07 models dont have to do this the rotor just fits straight on without taking off the inner casing saving two hours work, but didnt know this and wasnt told this till had to try fit new rotor as the 06 casing is slightly thicker thus stopping the rotor for fitting straight on without taking inner case off,so yet another reason to be unhappy and dissappointed with harley as they could have sorted this our prior ,or is it harley designers dont ride or fix their bikes?thus the reason we get so many stupid mistakes that could be rectified simply by changing the casings design ,well i still love my streetbob tho i have now after doing 37000 miles changed the cam shoes ect as worn through but ,this bike is a dream cheap at the time too, finaly harley have gone from the old days were everything but the engine on the harley was good finishing to nowadays where to my mind they got near on the engine right for a good finish and reliability to the finish bolt ons frame ,paintwork bein total cheap and not long lasting,,,but we live in hope,,,thsi bike is great am going back over to europe in august for my annual big ride on my trusty 06 streetbob looking forward to it ,,,

Uncomfortable Hd
Bought a 2014 HD street bob tried the mid controls result cramp in legs so forward controls were fitted ,bars were adjusted ,new short reach seat fitted 1500 miles of torture riding every time I came back from a journey I had to be sedated because of the pain in my back ...the build quality was not what I expected from such a reputable maker .I gave in and changed the street bob for a yam, xjr 1300 which to my delight required no adjustment it is also a pleasure to ride

A Blank Canvas
I've got a 2009 Denim Black Street Bob, it's a cool bike right out of the box. It's a ride to be seen on, and gets loads of attention, ask any girl, they are dying to jump on the back. Of course that means you have to buy the dual seat, and thats where it all begins. The Street Bob is well priced for 'big iron' but what you get is fairly basic. A stripped down Fat Bob which is already a stripped down Dyna. So you will need to budget for some extras to make it the bike it should have been. Here's my list, black Vance and Hines big radius pipes, Screaming Eagle power upgrade and heavy breather, double discs upfront, some parts powder coated mat black, some chrome bling, and Progressive suspension front and rear, but now it's in a whole new price bracket. It still looks pristine, but I clean it regularly and winterise it properly, no sign of the pitting, or other issue mentioned here. I love it but understand it's not everyones cup of tea.

Excellent Motorcycle But Expensive
smooth, comfortable, strong engine and nice to ride
easy to control and easier than my last 883 HD Iron.
The price is high for what you get
if it was cheaper i think it will dominate its class with other brands.
i didn't like the fact that i paid that much for a basic HD accessories.
i don't regret buying this bike also.. I'm happy i did.
spoked wheels means tubes in the tires
which is more dangerous because of sudden loss of air
why can't Harley follow the BMW way of spoked sealed wheels (tubeless)
Harley charged me 80 USD to fix my front flat tire
i am really thinking of changing my wheels to aftermarket tubeless wheels.

After Having Quite A Nice Bunch Of Bikes During Th
After having quite a nice bunch of bikes during the last 38 years, in 2009 I bought my first HD (Sportster 883), but the Harley I really wished to have was the Dyna Super Glide Custom - very rare or inexistant in Portugal where I live. Last year I found a low mileage 2008 Street Bob, traded the Sportster and converted it - Super Glide handlebar, rear footpegs, dual seat + sissy bar... I love that engine (smooth and powerful enough). So far I have no complaints about build quality - only minor problems as loose brackets due to vibrations, which I consider quite normal. The only thing I consider is below standard is the suspension. Bike handles rather well, footpegs do not drag easily on bends (much less than the Sportster "L") but both the fork and shock absorbers have too much spring and too less damping effect - I have checked the condition of both and they were as good as new. If you push it a bit harder it will strike back with some "wallowy effect" more unpleasant than dangerous. The bike is also very sensitive to tyre pressure - have tried different ones but the best is the one recommended on the owners manual - but beware - low pressure will amplify this effect. I know that I can upgrade suspension from the Harley catalogue and I probably will, but I feel that stock suspension should be better. Anyway, overall a really great bike !

I Agree With Owner's Comments Regarding Build Qual
I agree with owner's comments regarding build quality on my Street Bob; garaged over the first winter (albeit a damp garage) the motorcylce suffered corrosion on the majority of the chrome parts, particularly the wheel rims and pitting of the forks (as stated by other owners)! Consequently the fork seal has to be replaced after only 800 miles. I have yet to confront my dealer but I would imagine the resoponse would be that my warranty has run out and I will have to pay for the repair!

I Fell In Love With The Harley Black Denim 2010 St
I fell in love with the Harley black denim 2010 Street Bob the moment I saw it. I sat on it in the store and it just fit my 5' 11" and 175 lb frame. It brought me back into riding after 30 years. That path ran through a four day safety course required for the M class license in Texas, so it was no spur of the moment thing. The bike is quick, nimble for a cruiser, and plenty fast, though warm at a stop. Unfortunate that Harley made a corporate decision not to make a separate set of bikes for low emmission zones in CA, Europe, and Canada. They sell the same low emmission bikes everywhere now. I think most of the country should be able to buy a factory stage 1 bike from the dealer. The stage 1 upgrade enables the v-twin to run the way they were engineered to run. So... I just bought the V&H 2 into 1 big radius black pipe and a stage 1 Harley filter kit on EBAY--saved about $250 from list. I will get the Harley EFI download (another $150) right after I put the new parts on and that ought to do it. Well, almost... I am now bidding on a distressed brown leather solo seat as the stock street bob seat is a little too austere for my butt. Maybe a tachometer, And then there are the upgraded, forward position pegs. If you have a bike, you know what I mean.

Let Me Start By Saying I Love My Street Bob But Ha
Let me start by saying I love my Street Bob but have been dissappointed by the build quality for the following reasons. After 5000 ( mainly dry) miles the forks were pitted. After 7000 miles I noticed the paint on the swingarm was bubbling and the plastic window where the idiot lights reside was cracking and the bezels that hold the indicators were corroding. Also the rear fender was corroding and paint was lifting. All the above was replaced under warranty with no arguments by my dealer. I cannot fault them a great service from them so far. Handling is not fantastic, but I wasnt expecting it to be sportsbike razor sharp and the pipes touch down too easily ( almost had an off as a result) so have changed my riding style to suit. I Have added a stage 1 tune, removable sissy bar and pillion seat, forward controls Remus slash cut slip ons that sound fantastic with the baffles removed and a layback plate. I also have a quick release windsreen that is great for fast motorway work. Do I want to get rid of it ,absolutely not! I love riding it too much and just wish the english weather wasnt so rubbish, but I am concerned about the build quality and how its gonna hurt my pocket after the warranty runs out ( the forks are pitting again and its only been 10 months since they were replaced).
