"a Two Wheel Landrover" - Tough As Old Boots

The SLR has the same engine as the NX650, but detuned for more torque. Reliability is superb, these bikes just don't break, as long as you change the oil every 2K miles it'll bang along forever.

It's quite a tall bike and the seat is rather narrow, so after an hour in the saddle you're ready for a rest.

I get 55 to 60MPG on a mix of urban and country riding.

Off road capability is pretty good, the 19" front wheel is not ideal but the suspension has 6" of travel and the huge torque output means the bike will just keep tractoring its way up the steep rocky climbs.

It has Showa forks and shock and Brembo brakes all of which work very well. Handling is amazingly good given that it's a trail bike, the frame is very stiff and it can be chucked about easily.

Maintainence is easy, oil and filter and screw and locknut tappets (which can be done it 30mins start to finish).

If the bike has a fault it's that it starts to get very hot in traffic, as long as you're moving it's fine but I wouldn't sit in a queue (but then who does on a bike?), consistenly running it hot will result in the exhaust valve guides wearing, resulting in puffs of smoke from a cold start.

The bike benefits from free breathing exhausts, drill the baffle tubes out of the stock system, upjet from 165 to 175 and put a 1 tooth over front sprocket on (15T) and it'll sit on the motorway at 75MPH all day long.
