Fj1200 An Awsome Bike,

Had my 1200 3cv for around 7 years now, had an xj900f before that.

the fj1200 is easy to ride i do short and long journeys and never have any pain.

i have done a few upgrades,

R1 blue spot calipers,

FJR clutch and brake master cylinders span adjustable levers.

Dyno jetted.

Scott oiler.

progressive fork springs.

bike is just brill very forgiving, an easy ride(if you have some self control)

Beware can be a wolf in sheeps clothing. has very good manners but be a bit silly with the throttle and she will take off like you wouldn't beleve.

Just such a brill ride!!

i also have an aprillia RST 1000 looks better than the Fj but hasn't got the same power

My 3cv Was Laid Up In A Nice Dry Garage For 9 Year

My 3CV was laid up in a nice dry garage for 9 years with 20k (miles) on the clock. All I had to do was fit a new battery, clean the carbs and away she went. My previous bikes were all old Brits (with the exception of a CX500 for a couple of years) so the power was very addictive. I now still only have 27K on the clock but the bike is awesome, pulls like a train, I dropped to 110 miles per tank so put a new inline fuel filter on, the existing one was original and absolutely full of, well full of it. The new filter was £1.56 from Halfords and fitted perfectly and am now running at close on 180 miles per tank. Great. Would not be without as my everyday transport. By the way, I become a pensioner on October 16 2010, no flowers please only beer or praise for the FJ's of the world

Hi there Cape Town Fj'er. Hope all is still going well with the 'train'. They sure as hell pull some hey? If you want parts at great prices (no part unavailable as yet) join the UK FJowners club. It is well worth it. I have had, front mudguard, Fibreglass belly pan (much, much stronger than the original and loads of other paqrts. Have a look on the web, if you cant find it, email me on david.buckingham155 @ gmail and I will forward a link and some great FJ foto's I have taken over the pasy 12 months whilst we have been out n about on the FJ in North Wales in UK. Regards Dave Bucky

hey davebucky. i have a fj1200 for a year now and I am busy with my carbs. its a very very fast machine bt i need rear tire. also want to replace my swing arm to take a 17 rim bt i cant get one here in cape town south africa.wen I got the bike it was like very fast, after resetting the carbs I got a massive fright because at 200kph I decided to give it more throttle and I was almost without my machine . my ass was almost off the seat and I actually let go of the handle bars , the power was so tremendous like a nuclear eruption. I dnt think l will buy any other bike bt an fj.

I Purchased A New Fj11 In The Mid 80's And Also Ow

I purchased a new FJ11 in the mid 80's and also owned an 86 FJ12 in the early 90's. Since then, I have tried a ZX11, ZX12 and a new Hayabusa-all amazing bikes. I recently went back to where I started, purchasing a one owner 89 with 14K miles. These bikes will still run hard with most of the new superbikes on the street. Although I do miss the fuel injection, these bikes are a great buy. $3K should get you a beauty. Enjoy!

I Have Owned My Fj1200 Since New And After Owning

I have owned my FJ1200 since new and after owning many other bikes from various manufacturers there is nothing out there that can compare. I used change my bikes every two years but there is just something about the bike, and the fact I started my family, that made want to keep it. It is bullet proof!! Apart from the usual chains, sprockets, tyres etc. every thing on it is totally original. 21 years on and the kids older I decided to get a new bike. The FJ now shares the garage with a K1200S but guess which one gets to play more. Find one, buy it and enjoy it.

I Have Had My Fj1200 For 19 Years. It Has Always

I have had my fj1200 for 19 years. It has always been more than dependable and a reliable ride. Has great torque and its mid range is excellent. Had to ride it for transportation in Atlanta for several years and it was always a controlled ride even on the beltway. Great bike and I still have it.

I changed the pipes to slip ons and changed the seat to a Corbin. The fj1200 sits a little high and the corbin seat puts you down and closer to the ground. I have replaced several minor parts and it has always been easy. Exception: who decided where the darn oil filter goes. It is a pain trying to get the gasket to stay on. Not any real complaints except that.

I Had A 94 Fj1200 For A Couple Of Years And It Was

I had a 94 fj1200 for a couple of years and it was a great bike ! I added a scottoiler and a givi top box , otherwise it was standard services every 6000km . Bike never let me down , was awesome when you opened up the throttle and my teenage children loved to go for a ride with dad . alas a divorce and the temporary seduction of a 98 model 1100 virago meant we were parted . I am now looking for another fj1200 as the cruiser kills my sore back , with its soft rear end . The fj1200 had 250,000km on it when I let it go and the compression in the cylinders was still as good as new ! so if you find one keep it !! ride safely out there .regards Tim ( queensland , Australia )

I've Had My 1993 Abs Fj For A Year Now. I Travel

I've had my 1993 abs FJ for a year now. I travel 280 miles a days 3 or 4 week in all sorts of weather and traffic. I've got to say this is a masterpiece, its grunty, noisy and involving and totally placid and predictable when all you want to do is get your head down and knock off the 150 miles home yet will howl like a banshee when provoked. Apart form a thirst for oil of around 2000 miles per litre and petrol at 11 miles per litre it's really cheap to run, insurance is reasonable parts are not scary and the support from the FJ owners club is second to none
