I Owned A Beamish Suzuki In The Late 70's After Mo

i owned a beamish suzuki in the late 70's after moving up from schoolboy trials, the suzuki broke new ground with it's chrome frame and sheer elegance. aged 45 i've just bought another and the magic is still there i was so surprised at it's responsiveness and ease of control and balance, it certainly doesnt look dated compared to those square bultacos and montesas of the day

My Suzuki Beamish Rl250 (trials) 250 Was My Father

My Suzuki Beamish RL250 (Trials) 250 was my fathers, he bought it new in 1974 from a Suzuki dealership he worked at. He rode it for many years until he got married and had kids. When I was 10 years old I found it in the corner of our shed under a bunch of junk and bugged him about it for 2 years. One day after school I took it out of the shed and cleaned it up, after doing some research on the bike I found that it was rare but parts were still available for it. I started to restore it from the condition it was in which wasn't bad at all. It started right up for me the first time. This time I went over everything from the frame up. For an old bike it was in good condition to begin with. I replaced many parts and everyone who saw the bike was very impressed. The rear suspension wore out on me and I am having trouble finding new for it so I found a pair of shocks from another bike and have them on for now. I ride it every day and it starts first or second kick no matter what the weather is. This bike is worth more to me then just a rare motorcycle because it was my fathers. It has a lot of power and can take me any ware I want to go. I keep up with my friends who all have newer bikes and cant say one bad thing about my RL. If you are looking to restore a vintage bike to ride for years to come you should seriously look into a Suzuki Beamish RL250 (Trials) 250.

I Got My Suzuki Beamish Christmas 2003 And Then It

I got my Suzuki Beamish Christmas 2003 and then it was 23 years old. It had been looked after reasonably well, and had no paint chips, mostly all original parts. I was amazed at how it started and ran. Like new! the bike is rear dualshock and has a five speed gearbox, 1 down 4 up. It is quite powerful with 15-18 horsepower... and example of this is when my dads car got stuck at the bottom of our field and I went down and hooked onto a big "Ifor Williams" trailer!! It will and can do anything within the riders skill level. It is still very easy to get parts for this bike because you can either get original parts from neglected old bikes or you can get pre 1980 semi-universal parts from places like "stevens trials" which is a very good shop in all aspects. The bike isn't costly to run... it is 20/1 four star...or...unleaded now, with two stroke oil... I think the tank capacity is about 2/3 of a petrol can so... 3.3 litres. But this full tank will last you ages, estimate 40-50 miles!!! it is a beautiful machine, very retro and pretty, but it isn't a toy!! boy does it go when you want it to!! i love these gorgeous bikes.... and now due to the increasing rarity of such items, the value can only increase! So it is a great investment, and if you like restoring old bikes then get a neglected beamish and bring it back to life. You would be doing the world a favour and making a bit of money!!!

Any feedback, questions or comments would be much appreciated!!! thankyou!

I have two 1974 Suzuki RL250. I restored one. I'm working on restoring the second one now. I love the Bikes. They are amazing and I will always be passionate about the Suzuki RL. It is very reliable, has so much torque, and great for vintage trials. I am having some trouble finishing a set of rear suspension for it though, right now I have front springs from an old quad but am looking for a original set of shocks in good condition.
