The Dt50 Is An Excellent All Rounder. A Good Start
The DT50 is an excellent all rounder. A good starter bike, which is very economical. They're also quite easy to get repaired.

Brilliant First Bike I've All Ways Like Yamaha Dts
Brilliant first bike I've all ways like Yamaha dts more the old dts rather than new but brilliant its all good. No bad points for me its everything I've ever wanted for my first bike. If its not messed with eg tuned, big bore kits used and restrictors taken out its perfect but if messed with it is more likely to have problems.

After About A Month Of Owning The Yamaha Dt50 Bike
After about a month of owning the Yamaha DT50 bike I had to carry out an engine re-build as the piston had a hole melted through it which may have been due to the previous owner having the incorrect mixture. I had bought the bike after it had just passed an MOT and a year later it needed a lot of work doing to it to get it through the next one. To be fair though a full tank of petrol costs about 7 pounds and does last extremely well and the bike is cheap to tax, it costs £15 a year!! I just found it very fustrating that it was so unreliable. They don't handle very well with knobblies and I would advise having road tyres on it.
