Ccm Lash-up

Big electrical problems, had to completely rewire my bike. Parts expensive and completely off the wall if ordering directly from CCM.

I Have Owned This Bike From New. It Is A Black ( 1

I have owned this bike from new. It is a Black ( 1st in UK) CCM 404 DS with both trail and SMoto wheels. I have raced this in clubman Smoto and also Enduro. It is a better Trail/Enduro bike than Smoto as it seems to prefer this type of use ( my opinion) . As a Supermoto its fine , but lacks the longer legs for road use due to engine capacity. Mine was collected from the factory as a 450cc and I was told I was the 1st for this too. ( I worked for a dealer and got acccess to parts ealry, before general public) . This helps the road use, but the bike palin doesn't like it. Its for short blasts. Buy the 644 for the road ! Its amazingle capable as an all rounder, 710cc kit makes it even better.

The 404 DS off road handles like a star, the chassis is excellent and the only recommendations I would say are to tie up the stand with a bungee offf road as the spring is weak. I would also recommmend more oiul changes than the 4k the manual says. I find it can feel tired about 1500 miles after a change. ( The engine works hard , its only a single !!) . Try not to use a 'loud' exhaust as the engine runs hot and spits out cooolant. This is a common thing when used on road, due to the high running temperatures of this engine. Other than that, you need to brush paint the frame in places due to stone chips, ie along the front of frame, under the engine guard, and where your booots rub. No big deal. Remember to release the air pressure from the WP forks regularly or you will be replacing seals like hot cakes. I even do it half way through a run, as Ive changed that many, I find this more than halves the times I have to do it. This is a WP fault, not CCMs. Great bike, and goood fun. Just dont tour europe on it, its got shorter gearing than the UK standard, so it revs higher !

Had A Few Problems At First But That Was Because T

had a few problems at first but that was because the last ownder had messed about with the wiring, the CCM guys in the bolton UK are very useful, and theres a great ccmrider.co.uk website that have plenty of tips for CCMs.

The 404 has a great punch of power and you can easily modify it to make it faster just by using the ccmriders website, and playing with the carb and intake system. amazing looking bike, when in silver blue and red (same as mine) but can be expensive when replacing parts.

very very fun to ride whether its around town or through country lanes and will give bigger bikes a run for there money, whether its off the line or round the bends as its light. Approx 120KG

The Ccm 404 Is Probably The Best Green-laner Out T

The CCM 404 is probably the best green-laner out there. Top brakes and suspension, easy forgiving handling and massive range for fuel. Perfect green-laner trailie and occasional clubman bike. The Aussie spec Suzuki motor has great low and mid range with more then enough power for most riders.

Competition 450's like KTM etc are fine but need regular fuel stops and lots of servicing. Unless you're looking to compete as an expert the CCM is a much better deal and easier-to-live-with kind of in a class of its own really.

I Use The Ccm 404 Dualsport Is A 2nd Bike So It's

I use the CCM 404 DualSport is a 2nd bike so it's effectively a fun bike, it's only done 2,500 miles (a Ducati M1000 Monster does the major mileage and longer journeys).

I've had the CCM 2 years now and it's never had a hint of a problem. It's a perfect bike for throwing around tight twisty local roads for shortish periods of time.

The handling is awesome and also quite forgiving. Great feedback from suspension and frame.

It's also great in town with a responsive and punchy 398cc single cylinder engine.

Even after 2 years, I still have a massive smile when I'm riding it.

The 404 still looks mint but then the mileage is low.
