Aprillia SR 50 R

Super nice..till it wasn't.

Bike would just quit, or run good for a few miles and start missing.dealer couldn't replicate. The dealer has had it more than I .They replaced the airpump and a sparkplug, under warranty.Dealer said they have been having problems with these bikes and support from the factory. This scooter is a real Badass, rides like a dream, when it wants to run. $5000.00 and 1000 miles later I wish I had bought 2 Hondas instead.

2013 XR50R Fuel Injected United States

I have had my scooter for just over two years now, which I bought brand new. I havnt had many problems but recently I have noticed some sort of liquid/oil? Coming out near the suspension on the front end and the back end, I have also noticed that my bike is losing a bit of power and is taking longer to speed up. Can anybody tell me what the problem is?

I have looked after it pretty well. When I first got it I could only get around 25-30 mph but since I have had it de-restricted at first could get it to go about 55-60mph now it will only go about 45-50.

i have an aprilia sr 50 r and is by far the best scooter on the road its beats all my freinds scooters. its great on acceleration and top speed reaching about 65-70mph

i have had my sr 50 r carb since september and ive loved it, its got 5k on clocks (1700 when bought for £1150) only problem is for me the petrol i will put in a tenner from empty and that will only do 65miles before it runs out :( it has got a leo vince tt and a 70cc malossi piston kit and is destricted from exhaust carb and air box, however this might be just my bike but still is a little shabby but i love my bike :)

Pile of poo my mate ben has one and every body pannel is held on by a cable tie, i have to fill up every morning which doen invovle pushing it to the garge every morning cos petrol leaks out of the tank, when he is going along flat out at a full 32 mph his cluch rollers slip off, in it's credit it does mange to pull a full 15 stone.

It will only do 32mph standerd iv have got loads a intalkit 7occ bore with a pm tunning air filter yasuni r exhaurst with more stuff done and it will sceam to 70mph on flat. It you direstic it my shore you put lock tight on the bolt other wise you my stip you crank dont by cheap stuff you get what you pay for.

I have an 05 plate aprilia sr 50 r in orange that i bought second hand, de restricted it would easily go over 50 and up to about 55mph and the acceleration was good for most de restricted peds, unluckily a large hole appeared underneath the exhaust and the rear shock absorber started leaking oil in that week, i purchassed a leo vince tt exhaust that came with clutchsprings and light rollers i fitted the rollers and threw the clutch springs out as i knew it would take to long to pull away if i fitted them i then highly upjetted the ped, resulting in the quickest accelerating ped iv ever come across.

The bad thing about the sr50 is how it is built, replacing parts is awkward and replacing the exhaust can be a lenghy task this ped was built not to be modified and you will find yourself trying to acess bolts at awkward angles and even having to remove the faceplate to access the oil.

Overall what can i say an amazing ped, a real head turner and deffinetly worth the money but when makin modifications take it to a local mechanic and get it sorted. my final peace of advise buy a well cared for second hand aprilia sr50 to loose the high price tag as aprillias are very reliable and built to last.

This is the best 50cc scooter out there i got mine last week n i get 58 mph out off it without make no changes just de-ristricted when i get my power pipe ive been told it will do 10 mph more gr8 scooter best out there i have tried yamaha aerox and speedfighter 2 they dnt come close to sr 50 r!!

best 50cc moped out there,I have added a technigas exhaust and new rollers on the bike. The bike standard without restriction done speeds of 48 mph , now its reaching speeds of 58 mph, Aprilia sr50r all the way!
