Shockingly Bad After Sales And Customer Service

Word of warning to anyone purchasing a Miller home, make sure you get a professional snagger in to check the property over. Do not complete the NHBC survey in until all your snags are complete. The site build manager will jump through hoops to carry out your repairs prior to you completing the survey, they will ghost you once you’ve completed it. The after-sales customer service team are shocking in the NW and you’ll find yourself playing email ping pong and getting nowhere. Spend the few hundred pound and get your new build checked professionally, after all you are making the biggest purchase in your life

Boninghton Grange Sales Woman Rude Awful Service

The woman in that Bonimgton grange Gedling today needs to work on her selling skills!!! Lost the company £500k because she was rude handed me keys to let myself in a showroom and then repeatedly kept saying she’s got a meeting!! But we were going to put a deposit down Monday at Keyworth site but only wanted to View a showroom. No one who is going to spend that much money needs to be rushed out, she asked if I locked the property and to buy it because it’s there,,,shocking service spending my money rise were due to her. I have stopped two family members too from going to her!!!

Mid-sold Off Plan

Don’t get caught out and be mis-sold a house. Bought a house off plan just looking at the illustration, but then when the house was built I was left with a completely useless driveway. I mean the reason why it wasn’t a true illustration is because it’s absolutely ridiculous. When my car is parked on the drive, you have to walk across the grass to get to my door. Waste of time. They then offered me a “good will gesture” of £500 towards an extended drive, just so I didn’t give a bad review. I reluctantly excepted. Now when it comes to actually doing it, they halved the offer and denied all knowledge of the £500. What an absolute joke.

Cracked Concrete Window Cills

3 concrete cills under windows cracked. Miller attempted 3 repairs which all failed after a few months. Their proposal was to attempt a 4th repair using the exact same technique. NHBC got involved and although they agreed the repair would only be temporary, they would not force Miller to replace them. Following that decision I asked Miller to proceed with their 4th attempt as it would be better than nothing … but the refused, since I’d elected to involve the NHBC.

Petty, vindictive, unprofessional.

They Don't Communicate

Looking at the show home and the lady in the sales centre was lovely and helpful, I couldn't rave enough about her. Moving in, we couldn't use our downstairs loo, we couldn't lock our patio door, and a list a mile long of problems, pretty clear no one checked it prior to us moving in. A list of bodge jobs a mile long, you would call or email customer services and no one bothered to knowledge you so you would constantly be chasing and completely ignored. We had two big leaks because of their bodge jobs, holes cut out of walls and left for months because no one bothered to book repair men in. Loads of inconvenience and mess to clear up afterwards, not being able to use the upstairs bathroom twice because of their bodge jobs. We contacted the CEO and repairs got moving, but they really couldn't care less. It is all about the money for them, if this review stops one person buying and going through the hell we have had I will have done my job. Building noise constantly even on a Sunday until we complained to the council, they have no consideration. Would I buy with Miller Homes again? Would I heck?!

Don’t Care After Purchase

Appalling customer care once you’re moved in. We are 11 months in our new home, but we’re still waiting for issues (some major) to be rectified.

When we had our handover meeting the front of house was designed off plan and without knowledge, this was compensated with free turf. Shame they gave us rubbish grass and we have spent a fortune trying to fix it.

We had to wait 2 months to have tarmac on our drive, with the labourers turning up randomly and being aggressive through our ring doorbell because we were at work and couldn’t move one of our cars. We had to demand a ramp for our drive (like our neighbours) after my car was damaged getting on and off our drive. We informed miller and a manager was sent round. We found this out after our neighbours were visited to ask about it, but they didn’t bother to knock onto our house to discuss it. This was over £1000 worth of damage. We were only approached after we’d traded the car in for a new car.. shock timing!

Front door was reported within the first few months, as it doesn’t fit correctly. Through winter the hallway was 10c less than the lounge where thermostat is located, meaning the whole of our upstairs was freezing every night. We have had 5 people come to look at it and the manufacturer saying it’s been forced into the wall and needs replacing, but miller refusing to allow them to do so.

Shower over our bath was fitted incorrectly leaving a large hole in our tiling so we were unable to use this for the first 6 months. Took 2 months for this to be rectified. Bath was reported with crack, this was to be replaced 2 months ago but they tried to provide us with another damaged back. Fitter went into site to locate another bath, however he could only find other damaged ones which we going to be fitted in the houses being built!

Our new bath has been fitted, but they’ve had to rip tiles off because the bath was fitted on a slope originally. The bath panel hasn’t been put back on because ‘that’s someone else’s job’.

11 months down the line and we are still waiting on our dishwasher frontal to be fitted because the 4 different fitters haven’t known or been able to fit it! HOW?! We’ve now been left with the frontal and handle so we will fit this ourselves.

We have had our own electrician out to look at the property after receiving a shock through the fuse box. Numerous sockets not working. Socket for dishwasher fitted behind dishwasher.. we had to tell them this was a fire hazard because apparently they didn’t know this!

I love this house as it’s our first home, but by god have miller scared us. We both work in customer service and have labourers in the family and we’ve never known anything as bad as miller.

I WOULDN’T RECOMMEND PURCHASING FROM MILLER HOMES!

Terrible

Would never purchase a home through Miller's again, very incompetent. Our home was due to be ready for March this year, they have only just started to build the house and have fobbed us off with a million excuses. They have not been communicating with us and they do not care that this has cost us more in rent. Extremely disappointed.

Beware After Completion

We bought a house from Miller Homes in 2018.

We knew that the site wasn’t finished and we would be living on a building site for a couple of years.

The last house was finished in March 2021. We are still waiting for the roads, footpaths and landscaping to be completed.

They’ve told us they can’t do the roads because there is something wrong with the drains.

They can’t do the landscaping because it’s the wrong time of year but it’s been the wrong time of year for 14 months.

Miller homes have now handed the estate over to the management company so we are all paying between £100-£200 per year for the Maintenance of an unfinished estate.

The entrance to the estate is an eyesore and the roads are terrible. For 12 months they have been saying it will be completed in the next 6 months and in Feb we were told it would be completed in the first half of the year. 10 weeks until the deadline and nothing has been done. They don’t know when they will start.

Absolute joke.

It seems once they’ve got the money and there is no financial gain for them they are not interested.

The customer care are completely useless. It’s rare that anyone answers the phone and when you email they take weeks to respond.

Gardener Boundary Issue - Miller Homes' New House

We have lost about 4 square meters of our garden territory due to the orientation of two main fences. We had to move in quickly because we signed part exchange with Miller Homes. We are not professionals and it took us a little while to realize the mistake. Miller Homes tried to correct the mistake but one of our neighbours resisted and wanted to capitalize the mistake. As a result, Miller Homes decided not to change either of the two fences. It took 7 months for Miller Homes to find out that they might be legally safe (they believe they are), before telling us their decision and that we should not bother about such a loss. It is questionable whether they really care all customers – I feel it was their legal position that they cared more. Miller Homes’ fence contractor actually changed that special neighbour's front garden to what they wanted, without our consent. Our neighbour told us to blame Miller Homes and Miller Homes told us that they couldn’t manage their contractor.

It is a matter of fact that we didn't get what we paid for in the design. My partner is deeply depressed and I am very worried about her. The house does not mean anything to us anymore. We need fairness.

I strongly suggest all customers carefully check the garden boundaries when you move in.

Maybe I was too critical and too depressed. It does not feel good to complain.

Sorry I meant 'Garden Boundary Issue...'

Has anyone bought in Dundee? If so can you please let me know the issues you have had so I can be spared before buying. Thanks

TB2017

How do we get an internet connection? - BT openreach have been on the site installing fibre for the broadband but BT have said it is the developers that need to get the modem install not ours.

Nhurcomb

After purchasing my property my factors have issued everyone with a £103 bill for communal electricity back dated 2 years ago even though my bills say I have been paying this since I moved in. What should I do?

scottmccoll

I'm looking at buying a house in the EK development. Can you tell me what kind of houses they have and also any other issues I should be aware of if I decide to buy a Miller Home. Thank you.

jasetheaceuk

I've had a failed attempt to remedy a fault with the central heating system in a Miller Homes property, which is just over a year old. How long is reasonable to have to wait to hear back from Millers about arranging for someone to come out to fix the boiler? Been waiting for 24 hours now and not heard from them.
