Extremely Shoddy Workmanship

Speechless. A lot of issues since day one. I hired a professional snagger for peace of mind and they found over 80 visible snags across the flat. He literally told me that it's very clear that the site manager didn't snag the flat before handling out to us, which it's extremely unprofessional.

Also, it's been several months that myself and most of my neighbours are still waiting for most of the snags to be fixed (and no communication on behalf of the builder). In the meanwhile we are finding even more issue every day.

I have already raised the issue with a couple of councillors and it looks like this is not the first time that they hear extensive bad feedback about WestPoint.

Can I Give Less Than One Star?

Agree with most recent review. They are quite simply the worst company I have ever dealt with anywhere, anytime. We have been in for nearly a year and still problems.

Absolutely ruined our move and I can't wait to move on.

The single biggest issue is that the higher paid staff do not get involved, leaving the lower paid admin folk to deal with the hundreds of complaints that come in monthly.

The have completed our Ascent development late, taken our money and moved on to take money from other unsuspecting buyers. Our block have had floods, news windows, new bathrooms and many more issues. some discovered by chance when getting additional work carried out, like no cleaning agent in boiler system and no earthing of gas fittings, even though GCC gave a habitation certificate.

They have used a key fob system that nobody can source replacements for. They used new, cheaper contractors than from previous builds and are spending masses bringing them back in to sort out faults.

They need to step up and address buyers issues rather than hiding behind admin staff. Nothing cannot be sorted, but the management ethos is 'we have the cash, let's stall as long as we can until folk get fed up" That's how it comes across.

Sorry seams to be the hardest word!

Ascent. Cathcart.

They are now playing us off against the factors, trying to delay and delay. I’d advise anyone considering buying a WPH to think again. It’s just not worth the hassle. Folk have even written direct to chairperson and they haven’t replied.

Hi

Which development did you buy?

We have also bought one from them, and the comms and customer service is awful.

You have to chase and chase for every little thing

I Wouldn’t Even Recommend Westpoint Homes To An Enemy…..

This builder is shockingly poor in the quality of their house- build, and the way that they treat their customers once they have their money. Their website and sales people are full of all the “shiny” marketing promises…..but the reality couldn’t be further from the “quality home” hype.

I read some of the poor customer reviews before I purchased, but just put them down to some minority of unhappy customers….But, please take heed where I didn’t……the bad reviews are representative of the overall level of customer dissatisfaction and disappointment across this development, and other WestPoint Homes developments around Glasgow.

Owners have written to Glasgow City Council, pleading that they don’t award Westpoint Homes any further building contracts - they just don’t want other unsuspecting customers to fall victim to this company.

One of the owners here bought their home together with their partner……They told me that WestPoint Homes had stolen any joy in the purchase of what is their first ever family home. If that doesn’t wave the red flag to tell you to avoid this company, I don’t know what would! :-(

Westpoint homes has left us with windows that are installed incorrectly leaving us with Dust stained floors and grout.

Our garage door seals were painted which causes the garage doors to not open.

Shame About The Workmanship

Love the flat but so many problems with shoddy workmanship. All our complaints get ignored, lucky to get a response. Plumbing joints in the have split after a year. Told to claim from the insurance. Deed of Conditions stares flooring must have acoustic underlay but they didn't fit it so problems with noise. Mahy other problems which they just ignore. They don't live up to their claim and am very disappointed. Properties are not cheap so expect a better service. Not impressed with Redpath Bruce either, we have to keep chasing them up.

We are the same. Purchased a new flat in Cathcart. Entry date was October then put off till December. Told today it will be late January early February. I’m at my wits end with them. The worst customer service I have ever dealt with. Certainly wouldn’t recommend this builder

Shocking!

Words fail me when I try to describe Westpoint homes. Just a lot of false promises. I have had nothing but delays and no apologies. Staff in particular at head office are rude and just do not care (Caryl Spiers is by far the worst person to deal with and needs a lesson in customer service!). Was hoping given this is a smaller company they would care and quality : customer service would be top dollar, sadly not the case.

Avoid if you can, plenty of other house builders which provide a better service and product.

Budget Builder

What a great image westpoint have created shame they don’t live up to it! First of all sales staff full of false promises 6 months late in entry. House not finished before hand over. roof finished 7 months later. Dodgy electrics live cables running no where. Broken window frames and the cheapest fitting available doors windows etc. Finally westpoints chosen factor redpath that another story stay away if you can!

Awful company…..PLEASE have nothing to do with them. New builds have a bad reputation anyway…..and Westpoint Homes totally live up to it!

10 Years Anniversary

About to celebrate my 10th year in a Westpoint Home, and still very happy with the product. Very little settling and I've had to do virtually no maintenance. I did have to replace all the appliances within the first couple of years, but I wouldn't expect anything else and they wouldn't have been my first choice anyway. Westpoint were great throughout the purchasing process, including snagging. Everything was resolved and problems fixed very quickly, but that was ten years ago, can't comment on their service today. Just thought a review after multiple years was useful

A completely different company nowadays then

They supply the cheapest products that they can find, the cheapest Labour with shoddy workmanship and once they have your money you will never hear from them again

They will lie and fob you off the whole way through, believe me I've been there and regretted ever hearing of them ever since

Dreadful Standards

Unfortunately bought a flat from Westpoint homes in 2014. Snaging list was very long . i have tried to contact them recently about NHBC because of a blown double glazing unit. They have ignored my e-mails.

Extreme Poor Quality

We were told we would get keys in January...this was pushed until April ( whilst being told almost every week by the sales agent who was on site that we should get keys next week every other week). Once we were finally handed the keys the ' snagging' was and still is through the roof. The doors all scraped, bashed, chipped, paint work dreadful, scrapes in glass, balcony glass scratched this isn't even half of it. The worst for us was all the skirting boards were a mess and the silicone/ sealant in the bathrooms, it looks like a child has gone round with toothpaste, such an awful finish, so rushed and shabby and all over the tiles. I have no idea who they have employed to do their work but it's completely unfair for the amount of money which has been spent on these 'luxury' flats. No one is really contacting us to tell us what's been done or what will be done, and it's difficult to find the right person to help. Lived in my friends Cala flat before I moved here and the standard of their new builds are on a different level. Really really dissapointed as such a good location and potential to have been amazing.

Our story was exactly the same, the sales rep lied all the time and it cost us thousands of pounds for digs and storage. Everyone I have spoken to has the same story about this company and the faults you mention are consistent with what everybody else has experienced from Westpoint Homes. The job has been to big for them to manage and they have taken in the cheapest labour that they can find which has resulted in all this botched up work. It shows inexperience by the company management along with their " couldn't care less " attitude . Absolutely no pride in their work which shows throughout the whole building process. I notice that there has been no fanfare by them about this building,,no mention in any papers about the opening they are keeping very quiet incase the press should come along and speak to some of the residents. All in all, a very poor company at the bottom of the pile when it comes to building, they need to go back to their lego blocks.
