Beware Of This Company
Guys, beware of buying from this company. I bought a bad car engine from them and they asked me to do a video recording which i did to prove the engine is bad, afterwards, they promised to get back to me after the car engine was sent back to their company but refused to until several days later only to send me a video showing the engine was good. I requested for a refund and only for them to deduct the delivery and collection fee. They purposely sell a bad stuff only to trick people with delivery and collection fee. This is to let people aware and not to fall a victim like me.

Avoid Avoid Avoid.
Ordered an engine through ONES GROUP LTD. Leeds on 22/11/23 other than invoice and receipt from 1st choice I've had no communication from the supplier at all.
I've called on numerous occasions to be told engine has been dispatched but they are waiting for tracking details, this has been going on for 2 weeks. Several emails have gone unanswered.
Fortunately I paid by credit card but now have to wait 30 days to raise a dispute.
Meanwhile my car is off the road.

Excellent
First time dealing with this man and his company and have nothing but praise for the way he has handled my request for spares. These were sent to my main dealer who also advised me of their surprise of the shipping and condition of the item. I have no hesitation in recommending the company to any of my friends should they need spares.

They Have A Load Of Bad Companies on Their Books,
They have a load of bad companies on their books, they don't seem to care. Japanese Car Parts to my money (the only thing they did efficiently), and haven't sent the part despite numerous calls. It looks like I'm not the only one.

Spoke to them again, told they can't get it delivered for the price they asked me to pay for post so said they would charge me moreover I come come and collect it in the vehicle that doesn't have the part fitted to.

Do Not Order From This Company....
My son ordered a front passenger seatbelt from the Rochdale centre. It arrived so he took it to our local garage to be fitted, garage calls saying it was the wrong seatbelt having trying to fit it. My son obviously had to pay their labour costs and then it took 2 was to obtain a refund, but of course they wouldn’t refund us the garage costs. I telephoned every day for a wk and always spoke to someone different who assured me that they had sent out the correct seatbelt, so wk 2 nothing had arrived so I rang again and was told that they were out of stock and to ring back after 4pm to request a refund because apparently that’s when they are issued. So unprofessional! So avoid at all cost

Firms That 1st Choice Promote
1st Choice are only as good as the firms that they promote. They put me in touch with a firm called CAR AND VAN DISMANTLERS in Rochdale who were worse than useless.I sent CAR AND VAN DISMANTLERS photo's of my gearbox so that they could compare it against theirs. They said that their gearbox was 100% the same gearbox,I paid for it and on the delivery day I phoned them to see if it was on the way.Not only was it not sent,it was still at their premises (probably still in the donor vehicle) and they just said that it was the wrong type of gearbox!!! Awful Experience
I ordered a part and was assured that I would get a refund if it was not the correct part. When I phoned to chase up my refund I was told that they would be charged a 25% handling charge which has turned out to be more than 50% of the item. I asked why this was not explained to me at the point of ordering and I was told it doesn't have to be as it is their policy. I could have ordered the part brand new from a decent supplier.
Q&A
I got a gearbox for a Shogun. I asked if there was any oil leaks etc from UK Spares. I was told it's perfect. I paid for next day delivery but it took 9 days to come. I had it fittered for an extra £300 to find out that there are oil leaks from 3 different places. It has to be topped up with oil every 2 days. It makes a humming noise when selected in 4 wheel drive reverse. The switch don't work even with a new switch. I contacted them and put a complaint in to 1st Choice Spares but I was totally ignord. That is £600 wasted, I wouldn't trust 1st Choice Spares again. Is there anything I can do?
Eek, sorry you had a bad time, they've been fine with me. (That is 1st Choice Spares not UK Spares BTW)I would definitely try to take it up with them and if no joy consider legal action. My understanding is that their parts are guaranteed and you should be able to return them for a full refund. I can't see that they would pay for the additional £300 you spent though. Sorry you've been let down in this case.
How long does it take the customer complaint section to resolve a problem with one of the companies?
I received three parts from three different suppliers - one was faulted and was returned via recorded delivery and signed for by the company who now say it wasn't signed for. One was the wrong part - this part has been returned and full refund received from a very helpful company. The third and final part was correct - is now fitted and my car back on the road.
Two of the three companies were brilliant - how do I get the third company to play ball?
Not sure if any of the companies have a customer complaints dept, just suck it and see I guess. And don't forget to rate them down if they don't behave themselves - they won't get new business if they behave like that.
How do I find my nearest 1st choice dealer?
1st choice acts as an online service. Once you enter in the details of the part required together with your contact details, they will forward the details to suppliers registered with them. You will then - usually very quickly- receive quotes from suppliers around the country. After checking the best one get in touch with them direct usually e-mail or phone numbers are given in the quote.
IT works well and I have just had excellent service from one of their linked suppliers GermanBitz so I can highly recommend this service. Part arrived very promptly, clean, well wrapped.
Hope this helps
Have just received a part which is not the piece I described to the people at Oldham car breakers before I ordered and paid for.The part I require is the electrically operated mechanism which in turn opens the tail gate lock.
REF No. 7697230.
Is there anyway they can send me the correct part? I would greatly appreciate some help on this matter.
Just put in a reply but it might have gone to wrong section!
Just a comment on my own experience for what its worth.
I got quotes from them for electic windows sets for 2 windows.
However their quote was a bit higher than I though (no doubt because they have to factor in the time to get these parts out which can be quite lengthy as they are fiddly to do)
In the end I found that the cost of a new set wasn't as huge as I thought it would be. Factoring in the time & effort it would take to fit them I figured in this case as there was a risk of used ones not lasting long or perhaps not even working properly I would be better off paying the difference to get new ones. I was pleasantly surpised that new ones were not nearly as expensive as I thought they woudl be. I realise that this is not always the case and spare parts for certain cars can be astronmical. For a part that it fiddly and time consuming to replace it might be worth checkign on the new price or a pattern part from a parts supplier.
This is not to negatet he useful role breakers play as they can often supply useful parts as very good prices that are appropriate to use instead of new parts.
In your if you clearly specified the correct part and they sent the wrong one then they have a legal obligation to send the correect part or promtly refund the money sent. A good business that wants to keep customers should do this.
