Not A Clue
My engine went on my van in April 2021. Was quoted for a new engine. Had my van almost 3 months. Since then been back in and out 4-5 times. Finally got it back and running fine. A month in the ‘reconditioned’ engine blew up. Now can’t get hold of the guy and I’m almost 3 grand out of pocket. A similar experience to buying an engine from a gypsy site. Avoid like the plauge

Replacement Van Engine
No issues with the original purchase of the engine. After two months it failed completely, which was within the three month warranty period. I had spend £1300 on postage and installation etc, so getting a replacement (which eventually I did) was only partially cutting a massive loss and waste of time. My requests for a refund were ignored. I could give 247 the benefit of the doubt for all this - they may well have sold the original engine in good faith, and refunds are not normally part of a warranty, so this much I am willing to accept as bad luck from my point of view.
However, the customer service is another matter. Their website promises 100% satisfaction, but their commitment to it is non existent. More than once I sent messages which were ignored. When I did get through on the phone, they were unhelpful, dismissive and unreliable. The boss would call me tomorrow - no call. Engine will be sent tomorrow - no engine. Even getting basic information, like the mileage on the replacement engine, was given up grudgingly. Communicating with this company was drawn out and stressful, a bit like pulling teeth.

Rip Off
Avoid, paid them over £2000 for a new engine, many trips later and its still not fixed properly, I would say its worse than when it went in. Apparently knocking, black and white smoke constantly perfectly normal. I dont think. Total rip off artist. Happy to take your money but do not know what they are doing. I now have a broken car and out of pocket. Trading standards need informing. Also known as engine recon on ebay.

Con-artists!!! Steer Clear!
My Dad paid £1400 to have a rebuilt engine on his Toyota.
Was more than hard work to get the var back. Engine blew up after driving 14 miles.
Had 2 independents look at the car... both said the old engine hadn't been taken out.
Going to cost another £1,500 to get sorted out.
Can't get the money back.
Do not use these people.
They have also set up under other companies, so just be careful
if you here watchdog again id be interesred
We actually had contact from Watchdog
I think it was towards the end of last year
They were investigating, but said it was put on hold
Was hoping they would reopen
And yes, trading standards should be doing something
i already tried watchdog no reply back emailed them twice ,reguarding my problem but this man and business need be shut down never aloud trade again how can they keep get away with it you would think trading standards /citzen advice would of done somethink by now
So sorry to hear people are still getting ripped off by this guy
I'm just urging people to contact BBC Watchdog
The more people that do, the better
This man must be exposed to as many people as possible
Sorry, I didn't realise you had posted on here... Hope you cancelled and didn't get ripped off
Beware! Rogues And Charlatans
Seemed very helpful, spent £1500 on recon engine for my L200 only to find all they had done was botch my old engine which lasted for 800 miles. No reply to recorded delivery letters sent or phone calls. Also trading as engines-express. From doing my research I now have other means of contacting them.. Also trading on EBay as enginerecon
I'm commenting on everyone's posts because I really want people to contact BBC Watchdog
This con-man needs to be exposed on a big scale
Anyone who has had dealings with this company really needs to contact BBC Watchdog. They will do something at least if more people contact.
So sorry to hear you got ripped off too
Oh gosh they are a real class I cheat
When you ring for any problem within 1 day of of paYING £1400-1500 they guy will pretend he is busy, then next day on chasing he will say I am sending a van to pick up your car, you take a day off to wait in the property; he will repeat it several times, only after 5-6 times you realise that this guy is a pathological liar AND HE MAKING A FOOL OF YOU,THE VAN WILL NEVER COME TO COLLECT YOUR CAR
STAY AWAY FROM HIM.
They might change numbers BUT NEVER EVER GO TO THEM TO GET YOUR CAR REPAIRED
