Usual emails etc they requested bank transfer payment but invoice looked ropey to me. Anyway after much online trawling I am sure these are same guys so gladly I pass on new info. Good luck Hope this helps some one. Will be contacting trading standard first thing

Absolute Scumbags

Why are these scumbags allowed to keep trading. They take your money and run. It shouldn't be allowed. Someone must have some power to stop them trading. They've taken £975 off of us - absolutely disgusting.

Ok - A1 Replacement Engines and RE Replacement Engines were involved in our loss of £975. My husband didn't do his homework!!! I would have twigged seeing 2 different names but unfortunately I saw that after he had done the bank transfer! As I said any info on them would be great - thanks

Absolute Total Rip Off

Paid £640 for a t4 engine ... Should of been delivered sat 29th Aug ... Didn't arrive !!! Phoned up and told due to bank holiday it would be delivered on the Tue 1st sept .. Alarm bells started to ring ,then I read the these reviews and the bells broke .. What a load of dishonest people, might as well of thrown £640 down the bog ... Since then can't get through by phone and don't respond to emails .. Probably changed company name the COMPLETE nasty ENGINE rip off artists ..so wish I'd had read this review page before ordering ..and unfortunately I don't think I am alone

Rip Off

Paid £895 for an engine that never arrived. I fell for their story that the computer system was playing up and this was linked to their ability to accept card payments so i paid by bank transfer-mistake!!! Having arranged numerous times for the engine to be fitted by my garage the engine never arrived. They then promised me a refund, gave me a date that it was going to be processed, that day came and went and I have never heard from them since despite several emails to them. I assumed that they had ceased trading but checked the other day and they are still there doing what they do best taking customers for a ride as I read their most recent review about another very upset customer.

Faulty Product, Poor Service

I purchased a replacement engine for my car from Replacement Engines (actual company name East East Mechanical) of Barking replacementenginesThe quote stated “Delivery: Next Day” but it took a week to arrive despite my phoning to be told each day that it would be there tomorrow. By this time the main dealer who was to fit it had allocated the time set aside to other work so delaying the installation.

Once fitted it was quickly identified that the replacement engine had an oil leak problem. The dealer identified this as being a leaking head gasket and provided a report and photographs which I sent to Replacement Engines. After some discussion over many days we agreed I should take the car to their premises (nearly 100 miles away) where they would repair it for me to collect within 10 days. When I collected it from Replacement Engines I was told the problem had not been the head gasket but an oil seal which had been replaced; the wheel lock nuts had been mislaid but were found when I refused to leave without them; the car was not ready as it had gone to be washed so I had to wait so missing an appointment; the car had been driven 400 miles while in their care (they claimed an extensive road test); and on the way home I discovered a nearly empty bottle of whisky under the seat.

On return I noted it was still losing oil as the stain on my drive was growing. A little later the car broke down and could not be driven. After further discussion Replacement Engines agreed to collect the car and have it repaired by another garage as I had no confidence in them and their quality after the last experience. The car has collected and I was given a date they would return it by. A few days later I was told the repair of the head gasket had been done by them (not the other garage) and the car would be delivered back on the day promised. That day came and it did not arrive. I was then told they could not deliver it for four more days. This was unacceptable as we were going away so I had to travel 100 miles to collect it. Following their repair, after a couple of months it still leaked oil and water.

The costs to me of public transport, fuel/travel, calls, letters, hire cars (for essential days only) came to over £700. I also spent considerable time travelling and communicating with Replacement Engines to try to resolve these problems and still have a drive and garage floor damaged by the oil. I got no compensation.

Appalling Practices

This company have also been reviewed as Ideal engines and car parts and have used the name carengines.co.uk

Exposed, again, by BBC1 Watchdog on 18th June 2015.

They appear to be above the law.

They even have their own review page, and surprise surprise, what excellent reviews have been posted.

Obviously an inside job as I could find a route to enter a review.

They are situated in Barking, Essex.

Extremely Poor Service, Do Not Use Them.

Initially very good, the engine arrived as promised, BUT, it was the wrong year model, we agreed to swop over various parts but needed different turbo's, told not to worry as replacement would be sent straight away. From then on NOTHING, when and if someone answers the phone all sorts of promises are made but nothing happens.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. I WISH I HADN'T.
