The Nikon Coolpix 8800 is a good digital camera to either snap people or, alternatively, manually compose landscapes.
It has a very good lens and consistent clean colour so those views... too slow to save files so you only have one shot at action or impromptu pix
Too much electronic 'noise' in low light.
Overall, the CCD, optics, body and design are let down (a bit) by the processor speed and software.
But so much zoom, so small for this price?

"It has a very good lens and consistent clean colour so those views can be breathtaking with the zoom taking you closer than you thought possible. However unless you take 3meg pictures it is much too slow to save files so you only have one shot at action or impromptu pix. It is really a landscape camera"
