I Bought The Tf160 In Summer 09 And Drove It From

I bought the TF160 in summer 09 and drove it from Luton to France, Belgium, Holland, Germany, France, Monaco and Italy (then straight to Malta, my home). All was done is 12 days and no probs. Since then the only prob was the cambelt which was not changed at 46,ooo miles so not MG's fault really.

The finish is not that of a VW but the TF160 gets a lotta trashing so it will undoubtedly get strained.

Car accelerates brutally, tricky in the rain especially on shi.... Maltese tarmac. the 2 booths are actually quite spacious for a 2-seater so cant complain.

All in all I'd give the car 9/10. I would recommend it hands down. If you wanna see pics feel free to check my cardomain account http://www.cardomain.com/ride/3894743/2003-mg-tf

It Back To Basics And Good Old Fashion Sports Car

It back to basics and good old fashion sports car driving with the MG TF. The car is well set up, with mid engine and rear wheel drive making a real sporty driving experience. The looks are somewhat of a taste issue, as I always liked the old MGF and have taken a while to come around to the new nose and light arrangement on the TF, but all in all, it is now a nice car to look at and the neighbours all seemed to like it when it appeared on the driveway. Also, for a two seater convertible, the noise levels at 70 mph with roof up or down aren't too overwhelming as to prevent a conversation (even if voices need to be raised slightly with hood down). Good mpg for a car with 160 horses tethered under the skin, with over 30 being regularly achieved, even with a touch too much right foot!

It really depends on what you are looking for in a sports car, but for cheap, exciting driving on warm sunny days in the country, the MGTF 160 VVC is a great little car.Agreed, the car isn't perfect, but that the nature of British sports car heritage - after all you don't buy a TVR expecting it to spend most of its life on the road without ever visiting a garage. From that stance, I thoroughly expect to enjoy the pleasure of MG ownership, as long as the gremlins are kept at bay and the head gasket remains in one piece.

I Find My Car Great I Have Heard Some Horror Stori

I find my car great I have heard some horror stories but I have not come accross any.......so far. like any rear wheel drive car you have to be a wee bit careful in the wet to me that is fun.

So far I found the 160 cheap to run .

It has took me a while to get used to the car but now I have she is growing on me so yer I will give it the thumbs up.

The MG TF sports car is great fun to drive, with the exception of the head gasket blowing the car has pace and handles great and on a sunny day turns heads

I Have An Mg Tf-160 And I Love It. If You Buy A Sp

I have an MG TF-160 and I love it. If you buy a sports car like a ferrari, what do you get? Not nearly what you would get in a bmw or merc but then again, are bmw's and merc really sports cars, NO! You would get the same thing as in the MG just with more performance. The MGTF is a true sports car and great to drive.

This guy sounds like he doesn't even own one. His review has no substance of what is good or bad.

Where Do I Start?! My Mg Tf Sports Car Has Been In

Where do I start?! My MG TF sports car has been in and out of the dealers more than 8 times! It is due to go in again for a faulty door. The finish of the car is hopeless and extremely poor. I have an endless list of niggly problems with my car. The handles squeak like bending plastic and my exhausts were rattling. The best one was my horn sounded everytime I raised my window! (some electical fault). My rear suspensions squeaked and they couldn't pin point the problem and it reoccured after it was "fixed", my door won't open sometime when I press my remote key. Everything inside the car seems to rattle and I have had things squaeking since day 1 - my accel. pedal squeaks extremely loudly - sounds worse than the cheapest car you can imagine. The changes into my 3rd gear is extremely loud and jerky - makes a "loose part" sound everytime i get into it. My pasenger side door gets stuck sometime and is hard to open. my door does not stay open on slight inclines. Wipers dont even do a good job. (in fact the left hand side one doens't even completely touch the windscreen on all models!)
