I Have Been With American Express For Some Time An

I have been with American Express for some time and have always had excellent service, but it took forever to address with their Customer Service once I questioned a charge on my Amex Card. Since then, for fear that I might not be reimbursed if an unauthorised entry is made, I have been leery of charging too much on the card.

Ok But Could Definitely Be Better

Had this card for three years.. Still saving up for that flight!! BA miles don't get you very far and there's Amexs limited acceptance to deal with too. Positives are the customer service. Never had a problem. It would be nice if they had some deals aimed at lower end customers too. Not all of us can afford cruises and spa days!!

Superb - I Am Hooked!

Can't understand the grump bunnies on here about this card. I have been a member since 2009 - I am a BA Miles junky!! - I've been to London (from Singapore) in First Class with my kids for under 300 quid.. amazing. Obviously it's up to you how to milk the rewards, but I really concentrate all my spending on this card and we have racked up a fortune in miles.. and spent them, and we're racking up for another long-haul first class trip - the companion vouchers do work and the seats are available.

Time to fly!

PS : The few times I have needed the service team they have been very courteous and helpful..

I simply don’t believe you could travel to Singapore for less than £300. Return ticket on First Class spending only Avios will cost you £668 in taxes, fees and charges.

If someone asks who’s right between him and me, here is a snapshot of the BA website.

Out Of Control

Applied and received a BA Amex Premium Plus Card w/c 23 April. This new account was cancelled within 5 days because they "discovered" I was an ex-customer and had closed my old account, all five years previously. I had no issues with credit or payment. It's akin to Shell refusing to sell you petrol because you occasionally visit a BP petrol station!

No way to contact via email unless you have a current active card. Telephone staff are based in Malaysia. Credit control are based in the UK.

Worst Customer Service - Poor Credit Limits

If this card didn't have the rewards I would have cancelled ages ago.

Try calling AMEX so called customer services and you are met with rude people who just palm you off with what they learned in their training sessions.

Completely inflexible and now Amex isn't accepted in B&Q or Wicks DIY - hopeless

Surcharge!

Great card to have if you travel for work a lot on BA as this really tops up your mileage quickly. And the companion ticket is really the best credit card reward in the UK - no doubt about that. But why oh why cannot AmEx get BA to stop charging a surcharge when we use their OWN credit card to book a ticket. Any surcharging is bad, but surcharging on your own product is downright mad to boot!

I Am On Hold With Ba As I Write This...1 Hour 5 Mi

i am on hold with BA as i write this...1 hour 5 minutes and counting.

To call this card a scam would be to compliment it. Unbelievably difficult to use. very few dates available to use, they must get tons of complaint calls, their attitude suck on phone. Their online system does not work either, buyer beware

In Principle It Is A Good System ..but My Concern

In principle it is a good system ..but my concern at the moment is that I have accrued the points for a "companion travel" award ,,,and with my present high BA miles have been trying to book a flight ..but everytime it seems that no flights are avaialable?

...although when you check normal timetables and aslo with BA Gold Miles there seems to be avialable flights ??? sounds very suspect to me !!!!

I Signed Up To The British Airways American Expres

I signed up to the British Airways American Express Card on the recommendation of a couple of friends and so far so good!

I've got into the habit of using it for as many big purchases as possible to try and grow my airmiles. Booking holidays and flights or big home electricals purchases helps! I then pay off the balance each month so I don't get any debt or interest charges.

Whilst it's going to take a while to amass enough miles to get me to the US It's better than a kick in the teeth and does more for me than using my bank debit card.

Customer Service has been very good - the call centre is British based (well, it seems to be) and they have dealt with any issues intelligently and courteously. The only glitch I had was that they failed to set up my direct debit on the first couple of occasions although this seemed to be more to do with back office systems than the people I spoke to.

Would recommend to a friend as long as you're in it for the BA Miles.
