Quality Has Dropped Considerably!!

Denby is my favourite range and have been a customer since 2003. Recently purchased the Natural Canvas collection and the quality has dropped considerably!

Customer service have tried to resolve this but sending out two sets of replacements, each set worse than the previous!!! They have told me, this is the quality they produce and cannot produce better quality to their customer satisfaction, so rather go back and forth with exchanges they will offer a refund.

Cheaper imitations of the brand seem to be better quality than the Original Denby!

Not what you would expect from a high quality brand.

Currently returning the products I have purchased directly from them online and will no longer be a loyal, loving customer of Denby products, as clearly they don't appreciate their customers love of their products, the brand name they hold and the quality they produce.

Regency Green Glaze C.2008/9

After never having a decent dinner service when we got married due to no money and never getting round to buying one I decided I wanted one when I retired. So 10 years ago I bought most of the Regency Green which cost me about £1000 which was a lot of money to me - I bought two sets and it came with the free white dishes from James Martin plus extra mugs pasta bowls etc to make a dinner service for 8 people. I put it in the loft for 3 years till we retired and then brought it out to Lanzarote. After using it a few times the glaze started to go especially on the pasta bowls. I rang Denby and they said they could not do anything about it as we lived in Lanzarote and gave me £20 voucher or something like that and said use liquid dishwasher detergent instead of tablets which I did. But that did not work either and over the 7 years ALL of my Regency Green dinner service now looks terrible except the gravy boat which I wash by hand. It does not matter what detergent you use the glaze goes. I am so angry as I cannot afford to buy another dinner service but the whole thing looks terrible. Why or why sell something that is dishwasher proof when it is not. What makes it even worse for me is that this is the first house that we have had a dishwasher. My friend has the Blue and hers is still shiny and lovely and she uses the same dishwasher detergent as I do. I am just wondering if when I bought my dinner service 2008/9 that Denby had produced it somewhere else and it was of inferior quality. If this is the case they should have got in touch with all the people that had bought/complained about it and replaced it. We as pensioners and struggle to live now with absolutely no way of buying a new dinner service. I bought this dinner service so at last I could eat and entertain on something decent - how wrong I was.

Poor Service

Ordered two items as Xmas presents with delivery promised up to 7 days. Rand to check two days before Xmas (8 days later) . Told they hadn't been dispatched - for I reason and now wouldn't arrive on time as presents.

Very poor service. I'll not use them again!

People Can't Read Before Purchasing

I purchased a Few Halo peices a year ago and have slowly been building our collection. Denby pottery is a good investment do not be put off by the comments. If you purchase there 16 piece boxed sets which are made in China for more than half the price that Denby actually costs then expect it to be less of a quality. It is people like you that have caused companies like these to lower their standards because you as the consumer wants cheap tat but expect the quality. If your purchase Denby purchase the decent high quality sets they cost more but you will get years and years of usage out of them. Do not listen to these people who have chosen to buy cheap! Ask staff before purchasing look at the product before purchasing if your going to invest in something then do it wisely!

Huge Cost Of Returns On Online Ordering

Really disappointed with the customer service from denby. I ordered some mugs online and 2 of them I didn't like and wanted to exchange. However denby don't cover the cost of returns and also make you pay for reportage, which would have cost over £10 to exchange a £7 mug.

Expensive And Rubbish

I purchased a denby 16 piece dinner set to replace one I bought from woolworths 17 years ago. After one week of use the plates were scratched I complained to denby and I was told the marks were just water/metal marks. I know what a scratch looks like. I complained again and eventually got a replacement set. I was told that they would do some tests on the returned items and let me know what had happened to them. Five weeks had passed so I decided to email denby to see what was going on. I was told that the returned items had been damaged in transit and they were unable to do any tests on them to find out what caused the damage. How convenient. It seems like denby accept no responsibility for their poor products despite charging a small fortune for their products. Five weeks on and the replacement set has started to scratch, the set originally bought from woolworths 17 years ago was in better condition when I threw it away than the denby set is now. Don't buy anything from Denby, they are expensive poor quality items. I wish I had read the reviews before I bought a dinner set from them. And by reading many reviews online it seems I'm not the only person this has happened to.

Breakfast Bowl Failure And Replacement

Some two years ago, I was given as a gift a number of items of Denby cookware. This included a set of four breakfast / soup bowls.

During the intermediate time, all four of the bowls developed cracks and had to be discarded, the last one being in early March following a 30 second spell in a microwave oven when it contained a slice of pie. The bowls are clearly marked as being suitable for use in a microwave oven.

I contacted Denby by email and included photographs of the damaged bowl. In return I received daily automated assurances that my message was being dealt with and then just a few days later a comprehensive technical report as to the likely cause of the failure. Although quite naturally Denby could not admit liability, they offered as a goodwill gesture to replace the damaged bowls, which were received late last week.

It was unfortunate that the bowls failed in the first instance, but the Customer Service has been first class throughout and I'd be pleased to use Denby products again in the future.

Colonial Blue

I went on site too read reviews as I was thinking of buying saucepans and was surprised at reviews re dinner service.I've had my 12 place setting for 20 years as you can guess by the colour. I use them everyday and they are put into the dishwasher. The only complaint- I now find it difficult to find replacements.I broke a sauce jug and milk jug.Found milk jug on ebay but I'm still looking for the sauce jug. I would buy them again

Q&A

Toffeepuss

I bought some Denby Halo bowls about 2 months ago. They are marked dishwasher safe so I have cleaned them in the dishwasher The glaze in the bottom of the bowls is already showing speckled marks and loss of glaze. Surely this shouldn't happen at all and certainly not after just a few weeks of use. They have offered to replace them but that doesn't help for the future. What should I do?
