2000 X Reg Vauxhall Vectra 2.0 Dti Club 5dr Hatchback Manual

Bought the car in April 2010, has had 4 former keepers, I have only had to have crank sensor replaced £100, solenoid motor on fuel flap lock £5+ Its superb on fuel . I reckon it cost me 6p a mile. It had 110,000mls on clock genuine mileage and full service history. The last 2 mots it sailed through. The previous owners had all injector seals replaced, and front coil springs. A car is only as good as its looked after servicing but mainly oil changes regular and filters , oh and better still kept in a garage. I love the car, Tyres are cheap to buy and all other parts. The only downside is insurance group and road tax. Oh and I have heard that the fuel pumps can go on them and they are costly £400 to £1000. I just use redex as a prevention and change fuel filter regular easy enough job . Overall a good towing car and roomy for a family compact and neat layout recommend as a second hand car

Bought A R Reg 1998 2.0cc 16valve Ls Dti Vectra A

Bought a R reg 1998 2.0cc 16valve LS DTI Vectra a year ago, for £420. should never have bought it, as it had the engine managment light on. I then drove it home, fantastic on fuel even now with the fuel prices so high. Bought a good 2nd hand air flow sencor, that made a little diffrence but still the ligh was on. so again my micanic friend came down with his diognostic's matchine and said your EGR valve has gone, I looked a price's on the internet £110. so I have driven it wwith out replacing that for 8 month now, then the mot came up and I have had it off the road for 2weeks to do repair's and I bought a EGR Valve for £60. on the net, I just hope that works. my micanic friend told me it may be very expencive to sort the power problem out and that it may not be the EGR valve but a sencor or a blockage some where or even an eletric fault, so I'm just praying the valve will work or I'll keep driving it the way it is.

I have to say it's agood car, nice in size, but very slow amazing on fuel been a big car. my car has covered over 172000 miles so its doing well for that milage. engine wise she is brilliant, keep them well service with oil changes. All cars have problems. This car is a good car for people who like size and space, comfort, good miles to the gallon, this car is NOT for the boy racer type, its more of a cruser and keeping your licence clean.

I have a yr 2000 2.0 Di LS model. Bought at 163,000 miles, now at 228,000 !! From early on realised prob. My mechanic diagnosed EGR valve and I've not changed it......yet!. Yes very slow on pick up. Agree good cruiser & still good mpg. Amazingly reliable car, has never let me down in 5 yrs. And I've NEVER serviced it!! I was supposed to have changed it 2yrs ago at 200k miles but hey ho, it still rolls on! Body looking a bit shabby now but mechanically still great (apart from EGR of course!). Would have another tho! Would be nice to know if Vectra 2.0 DTi LS owner changed their EGR valve & what was result?

Great Car. Bought In 2000 For 8k, Used As Family C

Great car. Bought in 2000 for 8k, used as family car, and now commuter car (80 miles daily). 175k on the clock, just passed mot again.

Repairs: Injector seals (they do exist) cures the turnover for ten minutes prior to engine starting scenario. about six years ago.

EGR valve. Needed cleaning.

Fuel tank (old age) two months ago.

Crankshaft sensor. Just been replaced.

Otherwise, standard mot stuff, brake pipes, the odd suspension bush, a couple of springs.

Nothing I wouldn't expect for the age of the car. Lots of negative reviews on here, a lot of them ill informed, hope this counters that. It only takes a bit of research on online forums to suss the problems it has had.

If I Was To Recommend This Car To A Friend I Would

If i was to recommend this car to a friend i would have to hate them. This car has been the thorn in my side for the duration of my driving experience. Passed my test in early 2008 i've only had the Vectra B 2.0 DTI.. only reason for not selling is that i need it for work and no-one else drives in my family which mean i'll not have a car until i buy a new one, and the fact that they are going for buttons these days doesnt help with changing cars.

First off the list of problems ive had to deal with the past few years has been shocking, contaminated water, boiling water, brake pipe BAAAAD OIL LEAK! Gearbox has held up but doesnt really feel convincing throughout the time, the steering often went completely stiff when i was at low speed going over puddles etc. which is really dangerous lots of times i couldn't steer at all half way through a turn and had to slow down until it loosined up a little then it goes back to being normal.. radiator hose replaced i swear i think ive put the same amount of work if not more than the price of the car which was 1600 at the time..

I think ive rambled enough for one day many more problems including lights constantly needing replaced heater plugs needing replaced..

Please listen to this review they might look nice but they are really unreliable, i dont care how cheap the parts are, when the cars constantly in the garage what is the point?

DO NOT BUY

I Bought This Car Last Year And I Was A Bit Scared

I bought this car Last year and i was a bit scared after reading review about this car like electric problem bla bla bla but in 1 year i covered 12000 miles and never let me down the only thing which i find out in these cars are bit slow 98 bhp only and if you do speeding on traffic lights then you wil not get better MPG but if you drive it normally it gives me over 50 mpg very reliable cars good engine and long life cars in this money you can't find better then this i will give 10 out of 10 in this money and i will recomend it so don't be scare if you are going to buy a VECTRA-C

Cheap Car, Vauxhall Vectra 2001 Model B, Dti Ls.

Cheap car, Vauxhall Vectra 2001 model b, DTI LS. Picked it up with 2 former owners, in need of a good clean, 76,000 fully serviced miles verified by local garage, for a bag of sand, £1000 smackers for a car that does 50mpg, gets to 60 in roughly 12 seconds, has aircon, cd, lumbar support on both seats, side airbags, steel wheels.

Plain interior, lots of common switches to Saab 900, supportive seats, comfortable on 500 mile runs. Engine noisy at lower speeds, quiet at national speed limits and motorway speeds though!

Does not seem to eat oil and common enough in breakers yards to make running cost effective. Lighter on steering and foot controls than a 1.8 litre CDX Astra. Would buy another.

I own a 2.0 Di LS yr 2000. Was told by my a Vauxhall dealer after diagnostics that fuel pump could be on way out. That was at about 165,000 4.5yrs ago. I was told of horrendous prices for pumps (inc £2k by Vauxhall!!) so kept going. Now on 228,000 & still going strong!! Looks like could be something else after all.

Guest

Sorry but 99% of fault codes that come back as faulty fuel pump are down to crank sensor. Think you may have scrapped a car for the sake of £30
