I signed up over the phone with Reliance calls to India 3 years ago. They had told me the rate would be 5 cents/minute. It wasn't a bad deal back in 2010, especially since they have several lines/numbers so you never get a busy signal. They charged my credit card every month for the number of calls I made. I also put my Dad with my plan so he could make calls to India.

Every month, I noticed my card was charged for $2.00 to $5.00. I rarely made calls to India but always thought my Dad was making these calls. Three years later, I found out Reliance also charged me their monthly fee of $1.95/month which I was never told. They also precharged my credit card by $20.00 as deposit which I was never told about. Now I tried to dispute the monthly fee but of course they would not refund me, even after I talked to the manager Naveen. In fact, at this point he even refused to refund my $20.00 deposit because he said his system did not allow him to go back that far. I asked him to put me with someone who had an access and he said there was no one within his company who would have an access to view my charges or go that far.

They provide free service to most of their customers now a days but they charged me deposit, monthly fee and every call I made. It is really not the cost I'm fighting for, but the principal and their stubborness of absolutely not doing anything about it, when I was never made aware of the deposit or monthly fee. I manage an elegant boutique hotel where our number one priority is focusing on service. Reliance is one of the world's largest phone companies and I'm totally disappointed in the way my situation was handled. I closed my account with them and now disputing all of the charges with my credit card company. Be sure to read the fine print if you sign up with them. Do not make the mistake I made of providing them your credit card number. Go with Viber instead. Excellent reception, absolutely free calls, messages and the best customer service. If you need to make calls from the home phone, go with Vonage. They'll charge you what they tell you. Nothing after, especially they won't charge you anything without your knowledge. Angry customer.

when it works its good i don't deny that..but when that dial tone keeps ringing and you hope it will ask you to dial now...but it never does, that's

when it really gets frustrating so you just need to be lucky enough to make a call..!

Access number for RelianceIndiacall does not work most of the times - same with their customer service number. In fact they have one 0800 number for prepaid access and customer service. They are simply looting.

Reliance India Call used to be SO GREAT.. but NOW they really suck... I am keep getting ECHO and I also opened a new account and having same problem.

DO NOT BUY RELIANCE INDIA CALL.

I've experienced very bad service for Reliance India Call's 7 Day pack. After entering the reg phone number followed by pin number, you will get 'YOUR CALL COULD NOT BE COMPLETED. PLEASE TRY AFTER SOME TIME'. I spoke to customer care people for the same issue, and has no clue at all when I queried about the fault. They simply PUT ON HOLD for some time & they will say PLEASE TRY NOW. NOTHING WILL HAPPEN. YOUR MONEY IS NOT REFUNDABLE & YOU WILL BE IN THE SOUP.

The Reliance India Call Service used to be good earlier, but now has degraded to a point where i am looking for a different provider.

I would've been very tempted to rate this service as 8-9 if it weren't for the access number problem I'm facing past few months.

Overall the service provides a good value for money. I use the service primarily to call in India. The rate offered is 3.7p per minute for landline access which I guess is very cheap (correct me if I'm wrong). Mind you that some calling cards may offer cheaper rates, but they charge a hefty call connection charges which more than offsets the benefit of lower tariff. With RIC, you get to you utilise your entire credit on actual talk-time, even if you speak for less than a minute. There are absolutely no hidden call connection charges or admin charges etc.

On a negative note, lately I've witnessed difficulty in accessing the landline access numbers for using the service over the past few months during peak hours. This may be because of increased volume of calls as the service is becoming popular. I'm very disappointed that they haven't done much to increase the bandwidth as far as I am aware. However, if you're not particular about making your calls during peak hours (weekends and some evenings), and are flexible about the time when you have to make a call, this is an excellent service and provides good value for money.

Terminated my membership due to Reliance India Call's pathetic service I experienced in all areas. I must say their service was very good prior to the problem started during the initial 5 months of my membership after joining RIC.

Their UK local access number for prepaid calling service remains busy for the last 6/7 weeks and customer service employees I spoke to were very rude (offshore team) and has no clue at all when I queried about the fault and when this expected to be fixed. I had no option other than to cancel my membership.

This company is apparently from Indias millionaire magnet Ambani group ! What a joke if they cannot fix a local service access problem in 7 weeks time, this shows the high level of incompetence in the business and their service mindedness and I advice people considering to join their service to stay away from Reliance India call.
