Brake Failure

I have had this pram just over 5 months now and I am shock to the core at what happened today. As I wheeled the pram to the car and APPLIED the brake I proceeded to open the car to put baby into the car seat. After I loosend the car seat straps I noticed out the rear window I seen a pram going down the hill, I tired an my baby was gone, I ran after the pram but it was too late the pram crashed into the path and tumbled, baby still inside. I am shocked to the core my sons face is seriously bruised and this could have beem fatial had the pram not turned towards the path.and we are very luck to say the least. I will NEVER purchase another mamas and papas product EVER again and this product must be recalled. I took the pram to show my partner an he was so annoyed that a product like this could be on the marketno hydro safety in place for the breaks. Very bad design

For Me...good Value For Money And Hard Wearing.

I have the 2008 model. Very sturdy. The only thing that didn't last was shopping basket and I agree it's a bad design because there is no support and it drags down easily.it dragged holes into itself. I put the pram away 2 years ago when my son was 3 and he used it as pushchair mode too. He loved it. Slept very soundly. I don't know many who haven't padded out their pram whatever the make to make it more comfy. I don't recall a problem with harness he seemed very secure. He was a 9lb baby and still on the 98 percentile and I didn't have space problems. The wheels have been very good. In fact the front two just wore down.. I walked everywhere with it , including a 25 minute hike up a bumpy dusty hill twice a day...and down again So I had to replaced them. I guess it got thrown about on about 20 Spain/uk flights without the special bag and still in one piece save for a few tiny tears . Being in Spain half the year it hasn't really been rain tested.. I

have resurrected it now and plan to use with second baby I had last week. Moving it around this week I think it needs a replacement set of back wheels but that's it. Wish they made these for taller people though.

Dangerous, Unsafe, Faulty

Do not buy the Pliko Pramette, it has a freedom harness, not a 5 point harness - this means that your baby will only be secured at the bottom of the harness, the shoulders will be not secured to the pram at all. There is nothing stopping the baby falling forward in the pram. I bought the Pliko Pramette in August and my baby was born Febuary, used the pram part for 4 months then changed it over into a pushchair. I used the pushchair twice and noticed that the bolt holding the harness in the right hand side had come loose and the harness was only secured on the left hand side. Coupled with the fact that the shoulder part of the harness is loose anyway there was NOTHING holding my baby in the pram and it was very lucky a serious accident didn't happen. The shop will not refund - they will only offer a repair. I have written emails to customer services and spoken on several occasions to the shop manager to no avail. I no longer have faith in this pram after paying £800 for a full system. Bottom line - DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM MAMAS AND PAPAS - customer service is shocking.

Love My Pliko Pramette

This is the best buy ever, i got a total steal at only £200, its nippy and lightweight, easy to stear and to fit in small shops because its narrow, i think this is the only pram that would have fitted in my car (fiat seicento)!! easy to fold down just 2 clicks and done, easy to carry too. had no problams fitting my little girl in it and shes 1, and still has plenty of room to move, would recommend to any one that wants a long lasting pram/buggy.

The Wheels Fall Off - More Than Once!

There is a friction washer that holds the front wheels to the axle. This breaks, regularly. Mamas and Papas don't like replacing faulty parts. You work it out...

Mamas And Papas Pliko Pramette. Do Not Waste Your Money!

Bought the Pliko pramette after reading a few great reviews. Had my baby in July and at first the pram seemed ok. Then after a rain shower I foun that the hood of the pram was not waterproof at all. The raincover supplied does not go over the hood. Went into store to complain and experienced the worst customer service. Eventually after being in the store for over an hour the assistant gave us a raincover that does cover the hood when she admitted that the hood wasn't waterproof! And that the design of the pram had recently been updated due to numerous customer complaints! Things only got worse from then on. Suspension is non existent, squeaky wheels, trouble getting up and down and the list goes on. Numerous complaints to store but no joy. Turned the pram into pushchair mode when my daughter was 6 months, she is tiny for her age yet is still very squashed. She cant fit into the pushchair comfortably if she has her snowsuit on and she only weighs 15lb. This is without a doubt the worst £650 I have ever spent. I am now looking for a pushchair that is going to last and that has good recent reviews.

We bought ours 6 months ago and the brake at the back has snapped and rubs on the wheel constantly making journeys a nightmare. The top has frayed where weve moved the hood up and down. The raincover had a massive slash in it. We took it. back and was given another temp pushchair from the shop we got it from. We asked for a raincover - another slash! we also asked for a parasol which was ripped at the seams. The replacement we were given was too big for our daughter as she is tiny - Only 4.5lbs. The assistants advice was to put her in a bigger coat! the temperature was 31 degrees. When the experienced assistant was putting the parasol on it cut her hand. that says it all. Stay away from this pram. save your money as the cheaper ones are much more reliable.

Totally Dissapointed With This Pram

i totally loved pram when i bought it although the lie down flat bit was a bit hard for my baby but i loved the look of it and bought it purely so it fitted in my small boot to discover it didnt. i had previously had the ultima with my first child which i loved was just too big. the real disapointment came when i turned it into the pushchair mode my babies shoulders looked squashed at just 6 months i phoned m and p but they said i would have to bring the pram and my baby in to let them see it which i couldnt do as the nearest store is 2 hours away so i gave up and bought a normal buggy i am now trying to sell my plikko and as i thought other babies do not fit in it comfortably dont understand how some reviews say that their 3 year old fit in it with ease. so gutted because it looks great and was a waste of money.

Mamas And Papas Pliko Pramette City Scape

I had a big gap between my first two children and my third and last child hence having to start again with baby equipment.

This time, I intended a pram/pushchair that would do me from birth to ante pre-school. I thought that I was buying "the sensible option". I paid £700 approximately for a package with car seat etc.

The pramette initially seemed okay although a little stiff to use however, it has fallen apart at the seems literally! The leg extender doesn't stay up and it is getting more difficult to put up/down. It looks awful and is more difficult to steer. It's also warped. It has not been roughly treated, although it has been used regularly.

I would NOT recommend this pram/buggy! It is too expensive, poor quality and the service from Mamas and Papas leaves a great deal to be desired. They wanted nothing to do with me when I e-mailed a complaint. I could NOT get through via the phone. I will NEVER buy Mamas and Papas again! I've not had to go out and buy yet another buggy!

Mamas And Papas Pliko Pramette

As a first time mum I was seduced by the attractive fabric (black with cream polka dots) and thought I was buying a good brand! Yes looks very nice but that's the only positive thing I can say about it. Baby was born Oct 2010 (just before the terrible winter) so pram was not used a great deal but found it very bumpy due to no suspension. As baby got longer (about 4 months old) realised the bottom half of the pram was very hard! Went into store and was told to put a blanket underneath! It is very awkward to push and like an old bone-shaker. Feels quite unsafe now baby is larger. I lost my house keys because I had not realised there was a hole in the shopping basket. It has no support under it so when even a little shopping is put in it it drops very low and catches curbs and steps. (I have 4 steps to get in and out my house) Again visited store only to be told I could buy a new one for £24!!! At this stage pram was only 10 months old. Also the problem of baby looking squashed, across the shoulders, when in footmuffs...complained in store again...total waste of time. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED The brakes have also popped off themselves, when on the bus, quite a few times, very scarey! Six months ago I bought a replacement buggy (for £49) It is 100 times better than the pliko! I paid £672 for the pliko system BIGGEST WASTE OF MONEY EVER. My cousin is now trying to sell hers on and her baby is only 7 weeks old!!! (Wish she had asked me before she bought it)! I could not advice you any more strongly NOT to buy this product.

Love It!

Just purchased for baby number two as old o-zon pram has been flood damaged between pregnancies and I can use the same car seat with the Pliko.

Pushes like a dream! Actually more enjoyable to push than our buggy, seems to glide better. Tested with our two year old, fits in no problem which is a relief as I has seen some reviews where people said they struggled with young babies. Don't know how!

Pram mode is lovely, can't feel the harness at all! Irrelevant really though as I will be lining with blankets anyway in case of sick!

Yes, the harness is free. Older babies love it and if you get a foot muff and liner you can modify it a little and it makes the straps a little more secure for a younger baby (o-zon had the same thing).

One and only gripe is if your partner is 6ft 3 handles may be a little short but I imagine this would be the same for most prams!
