Overall it is ideal for the basic usage. If you want things done fast then this isn't one for you as far as I am concerned. For me the only good point is it is easy to use, but as far as I am concerned so are all laptops these days therefore I do not recommend HP Pavilion ZE5100.

I Bought This Hp Pavilion Ze5100 Laptop In Feb Of

I bought this HP Pavilion ZE5100 laptop in Feb of '03. It's worked pretty well for most of that time. The main complaints I have are the low battery life and the extremely loud fans. Oh, and about 6 weeks after my one year warranty expired, the lcd screen went out. HP Support charged me $40 to talk to someone who told me that they'd be happy to replace the screen for $700. I told them to bite me and now I'm happy with a Dell. I will never ever buy any other HP product after being dumped on by their shoddy support. It's really despicable that they treat customers who've purchased thousands of dollars of hardware like this.

What's Going On At Hp?!!! Their Products And Supp

What's going on at HP?!!! Their products and support are both sub-par. I bought a HP Pavilion ZE5100 notebook for one of my sons and it's been in for repairs for 4 months of the so called one year warranty. (two seperate repairs) Recently my son broke the AC plug receptacle out of frustration (another uncommanded system shutdown). I bought him a replacement computer and now I'm trying to get the broken one repaired. HP has scheduled three FedEx pick-up dates over the last month and the computer still sits in a box by the front door. Various calls to HP (several to persons in India) have yet to get the computer on its way to the repair shop. We actually had another HP desktop that lasted about 6 months before the motherboard died. After unsuccessful attempts to get it repaired I bought a replacement from another company that is working much better. I'm convinced that HP computers are built to be disposable after 6 months and will never purchase, or recommend them in the future.
