Location, Location, Location. These Apartments Ar

Location, Location, Location. These apartments are an easy 5 min walk to the main strip and an extra 30 seconds to the beach. You've got 3 good supermarkets on your doorstep, all selling the basics at very reseanable prices. Apartments are basic and VERY clean.

For a two * establishment, you can't fault this place, it's on a quiet road away from the noisy strip, but close enough to walk there in 5 mins. The kitchen is pretty basic, but we eat out most days/nights, but on the couple of occasions we eat in, there is more than enough facilities to keep you going. We can't comment on the pool or the pool bar, because we went to the beach most days, there is a fab, (English owned), bar / cafe right on the beach. Bathroom is a little cramped and the balcony overlooks the road, but that is where the sun is during the day.

Highly reccomended.

Puerto Del Carmen's Oasis Apartments Are One Of Th

Puerto Del Carmen's Oasis Apartments are one of the best apartments we have ever stayed at. Family of five in a duplex apartment, couldn't ask for anything more. Spectacular views over the ocean. Close to all amenities but very quiet.

We Have Been Here Twice In The Past Two Years And

We have been here twice in the past two years and have booked to go again this August. We found the staff to be more than helpful, the bar even stayed open late on our first visit and they were still keeping the same hours the following year with the bar closing for a couple of hours at 6 to allow staff to go home and change.

The main strip is located about a five minute walk down a very slight hill, its far enough away that you don't hear any noise and close enough to wander down to at the drop of a hat. The weather is exceptionally warm and the slight breeze can be misleading. Lanzarote has loads to offer and the market is one of the better attractions. The restaurants located all along the strip offer different kind of food that will satisfy most people, even me who is incredibly fussy. The pool at the oasis is cold and quite deep but has a separate child's pool and plenty of loungers at all times of the day. No need to be up at 6am to grab a bed.

Overall theses apartments are clean well maintained and are up to 2* standard that they advertise. They are not the Ritz but are good value for money and we will continue to go back for as long as they stay this way.

We Stayed At The Oasis Apartments For A Week In Ju

We stayed at the Oasis Apartments for a week in June 06 and by the time we left we were glad that we had only booked it for a week and not longer!

The Oasis is situated approx a 15 minute drive from the airport, which was not entirely comfortable. The taxi drivers drive like maniacs!

We were disappointed when we pulled up, the street where it was located was quite dirty and run down looking, with huge, smelly bins blocking the pathways. It was also very dark with slippy, uneven pavements.

On arrival we found that no one was there to help us and the room had been left open with the key in the door. The apartment was OK, it had a small kitchen: kettle, sink, fridge, cutlery, dishes etc. However, no washing up liquid, dishcloths or anything like that. The apartments don't seem that safe either, you enter via a patio door and it is just the key to lock the door and the apartment we stayed in was right on the main street, so anyone could just walk in.

Two single beds in the bedroom, huge wardrobe but only four hangers between us. Bathroom nice, however every day we were there we had no hot water whatsoever. Shower was a trickle of cold water. TV in the lounge but no English channels unless you want to watch Eurosport or Spanish TV!

The Maid came every day at 8am which was annoying, she replaced the toilet rolls and that was about it. We had no clean towels or anything for the whole time we were there. Wouldn't take no for an answer, even if we were still in bed or getting dressed, taking a shower etc. In the end we locked the door from the inside and ignored her. We were on holiday after all and didn't really want to have to get up at 8am every day!

The the pool area was lovely, lots of sun loungers and very quiet, although there's no shade and it does get very hot.

There is a small bar/cafe in the resort but it closes early, about 5-6pm every day, which is obviously no good. We only ate there once, the food wasn't that nice and very unhygienically prepared. The closest shop is a short walk along slippy, uneven pavements. We went to the Spar on the main street but found this quite expensive, we didn't find anywhere cheaper.

The worst thing about this hotel is the noise, not coming from this hotel but the hotel at the back. I'm not sure what it was called. They had music blaring out really loud every night, kids screaming, people shouting. In the end we had to buy some earplugs to get a decent nights sleep. It was truly awful. The rooms also have quite thin walls and we had to listen to child next door screaming for the whole week while we were there, not to mention the scraping of chairs and tables by the people upstairs.

I would not recommend at all, on the last day we were actually glad we were leaving and couldn't wait to get back home. We also found Lanzarote very disappointing, we got pestered everywhere for day trips/bars, people even cross the busy main road to get to you! The local people seemed very rude too. It is also expensive, compared to other places we have been. I would not go back again.

If you want a cheap place to stay and only use the room as a base then this is ideal. However, we were disappointed with Lanzarote in general and ended up spending more time in the room than we had originally imagined. If its a decent nights sleep and a shower that you're after then don't bother, stay elsewhere!

On the good side, there is a lovely Chinese buffet restaurant on the main street, although I can't remember it's name, it is the one next to the jewellery shop quite close to the Spar, definitely a place to try!
