Horrible Computer Stay Away!!

I'm a college student I take excently care of my computers, as a student your computer is everything. I bought a acer in June not even two months later the hard drive went out!! I called acer as it is still underwareenty they replace the hardrive and sent it back. There are still numerous issues: connecting to the internet when the router works perfectly fine, can't open documents (not a formatting issue), powers off and on, will freeze when on the net, it's slower than dirt (which I stay off Facebook, YouTube, and most know infected sites to avoid a viruse)

Mind you I have only had this computer less than four working months!!! I call acer yet again and say "the computer is still not functioning properly" I tell them " "I will more than happly send this back and have them exchange this "lemon" for another one or ask for a refund and they tell me they will "try" and fix it (Which means being without a computer during a current semester)!! "They say they will not doing anything else I'm basically stuck with this computer. This isn't my first acer my last one last 5 years. I thought it would be another great computer however, this is a horrible excuse of a computer.

My advice is to stay far far away from acer!! Go with something more reliable like dell or Mac and save yourself the headache

An Absolutely Terrible Computer

I purchased this computer to serve as a second home computer devoted to work. A complete and total waste of money. A truly terrible computer. Stunningly slow. Even now as I am typing this I am waiting for email and web pages to load. 5 minutes and counting. (Except for this page which loaded, ironically enough, rather quickly.) I have a six year old Toshiba laptop with less memory which blows this system, less the a few months old, out of the water. Do not purchase this. DO NOT.

I am having the same problem with the Internet. It will not work at all and even cuts off my Internet from my mobile phones.

My broadband connection is working fine until the laptop attempts to connect with the broadband.

What did you do???

Great School Computer

If you are looking for a great, reliable school computer, then this is the product for you! I purchased this computer as an accessory to my desktop, and mainly for portable school use (DOC or device of choice program) and perhaps internet surfing. However, once I got this great machine, it has become my main computer! Although you may not be able to play the most graphics intense games, this is great for anything you will need it for, whether that be video, music, or word processing. I can have my browser open with music playing and multiple documents with no lag. And did I mention the battery life? The specs on this computer are drastically underrated, with the battery life being closer to 5 or 6 hours. The hard drive is as big as you will ever need. Not to mention the price! Once I got this in the mail, my father ordered one for my sister and one for himself! If you are looking for a portable, reliable, CHEAP (though not in a negative sense) computer, then this is the BEST OPTION! Also, if you are interested, there are some beefed up models of the Aspire series, with slightly upgraded specs for a minimal price. The model numbers can be confusing, so make sure you check the Acer website before purchasing an Aspire series computer.

An Average Laptop

I received the acer laptop as a present from my dad. The laptop generally is an average laptop with simple and basic features. It has a lovely cinematic view and is great to watch films on. I had a couple of freezing problems but, on the whole the laptop has operated well. However, one huge aspect which is a big disappointment is the rubbish battery life. The laptop quickly runs out of battery and is required charging pretty often. There is a small battery icon on the bottom of the screen which alerts you of how much battery your laptop has left. At one stage, the icon would say " 100% (1 hour 15 mins) available. However, 10 mins later the icon would say " 30% (25 minutes) available. So,in the matter of 10 minutes the battery life has decreased by 70%. It is ridiculous, especially if you are someone busy who has a lot of work to complete. Maybe it is just my laptop, but i found this aspect very annoying. On the other hand, the laptop has a 15.6" HD LCD and has 3 GB of storage, which was ideal for me. I was happy with the purchase of the laptop as it does its job. There is nothing particularly special about the laptop but its suitable for me.

Waste Of Money

Bought an Acer Aspire about six years ago - yeah I know it's a long time to leave before reviewing a product but I was so traumatised by the experience that I'd wiped it from my memory until I just saw one advertised on a website.

The story goes: I paid £550 for a beautiful model (can't remember the number again due to erasing it from my mind) whose spec was very good indeed and a lovely wide screen perfect for viewing DVDs etc.

Well, I was happy for a while until it developed a BIOS issue, wouldn't boot up properly and basically became something only worth propping up an unstable table or used as a tray for carrying dishes to and from the kitchen. All of this in about 8 months. Shocking.

Luckily I managed to sell it as parts on ebay which is why I gave it the two stars.

Really bad laptop, bad service, an awful customer support. Laptop was less than 3 months old when it started to shutdown suddenly and without closing windows. Initially Acer even denied that it was under warranty. In next 3 months it has gone back 4 times and the problem is still not fixed. Lesson learnt? If you buy Acer, keep the box - you're going to need it!

Acer-- You Need A Time Out!!

ACER SERVICE IS EXTREMELY DECEPTIVE. THEY WILL LIE TO TRY TO GET THE CONSUMER TO PAY EXTRA MONEY FOR WARRENTY REPAIR. IN THIS CASE I PURCHASED A 3 YEAR TOTAL COVERAGE CONTRACT. IN CONVERSATION WITH ACER THE NICE PERSON SAID THEY DON'T SELL THESE CONTRACTS. THE SUM TOTAL OF MY EXPERIENCE IS ACER AMERICA WILL DO WHAT EVER IT TAKES TO GET THE CONSUMER TO PAY EXTRA MONEY FOR COVERED SERVICES. IF YOUR GOING TO MAKE A STATEMENT MAKE SURE YOU CAN BACK IT UP ACER. THE AMERICAN CONSUMERS ARE GETTING TIRED OF YOUR DECEPTIVE BUISNESS PRACTICES. MAYBE PRINTING WITH YOUR WARRENTY COVERAGE SOMETHING LIKE ACER IS GOING TO TRY THE BEST IT CAN TO GET YOU TO PAY EXTERA MONEY FOR COVERED SERVICES.

Purchased My Acer Aspire 5332 18 Months Ago, 2wee

Purchased my acer aspire 5332 18 months ago, 2weeks ago it would not work took it in to a computer shop for them to have look at it, and found that the mother board was broken .to get it replaced it cost me £97-00 Iam very disappionted that after only 18 months that it would cost me nearly £100 to get it repaired. Not very good value for the money I paid for the Laptop.

Same happened to me, I think its disgusting that after the warranty ran out the motherboard packed up. I was quoted £140 not best pleased and vowed never to buy Acer again.
