Quick Review As Here In Lykia World Olu Deniz Righ
Quick review as here In lykia world olu deniz right now. This is our second visit. Realy enjoyed it first time round in June 2009 but a little hot for our 1.5 yo. So back this yr in October with our newest addition a six month old.
Finding the pools too cold for any serious fun this late in the season. Weather not too great either, but that's simply the time of year, will prob go back again slightly earlier.
However there is a horrible bug going around, the wife has been sick for last 2 days and am dreading the kids picking it up. Thank god for the kids clubs as it's taken the pressure off. They are great.
Lykia need to get this sickness under control. Lots of people are sick and it's going to affect the reputation if they let it continue.

Visited Resort For 1st And Only Time Sept/oct 2010
Visited resort for 1st and only time Sept/Oct 2010. Resort in need of refurbishment. There was a sickness bug when we arrived that has been going around for several weeks and the resort are not taking enough action to prevent spread. A few holidaymakers have been hospitalised so I would think very hard before taking children there.
On a positive note the resort doctor was fantastic as he saved our 5 year olds life after having a severe allergic reaction to a wasp sting. Beware of wasps and bees as they were a real pest.
We really wish we had been notified of the bug before our arrival as we would not have chosen to put our children in that position.

I Stayed In Lykia World Village With My Mum And Tw
I stayed in Lykia World Village with my mum and two teenage daughters and we all had a fabulous time. We had 2 adjoining family rooms, which were pretty standard, but it meant that we had two shower-rooms.
My daughters spent 90% of the time in the Teens Club where they met people of various nationalities and had a great time water skiing, fly-boating, para-sailing etc. (Kids pay a fraction of the cost if they participate as part of the club rather than doing it on their own). However be aware that sometimes the club organised for 2 or 3 activities a day so this can mount up quite quickly. Special mention must go to Alex and Anton who supervised the teens.
The whole resort is a true paradise - the grounds are beautiful and you are surrounded by mountains on one side and the sea on the other (the tide doesn't even seem to ever go out).
Unfortunately, it was also my personal hell - the place was full of wasps - especially Children's Paradise where I couldn't even bring myself to sit down. But then I do have a phobia of wasps so if they don't mind wasps then you will love this place.
TIPS:
It's not advised to drink the tap-water, but there are lots of drinking fountains around the resort that you can fill water-bottles up from free of charge (though there are signs saying not to but everyone was doing it!)
The resort charges any expenses to your room, and will accept Euros, Sterling or Turkish Lira. I would recommend you don't bother with Lira at all, because everywhere, including the markets, would rather have Sterling.
Take mosquito repellent and wasp repellent. There are lots of both!
The resort switches off the air-con in mid-September so if you have a portable fan, take it! The temperature when we were there was between 30-32 degrees during the day and it was very hot at night.
SUMMARY: This is a fab resort. I would highly recommend it.

This Was Our First Visit To Lykia World In Olu Den
This was our first visit to Lykia world in Olu Deniz. We have stayed in Turkey before so we know the area but previously we had stayed in self catering/small hotels. We were not disappointed at all.
We are a family of 4-adults and 2 children aged 3 and 9 and it suited us perfectly. We booked via Thomas Cook.
Plus points.
Great accomodation-we got a seaview(which we didnt request but just got lucky)-clean, modern.
There are 2 sections to Lykia World-the Resdidence and the Village. We stayed in the Village which I would recommend for families. the Residence is probably better suited to a couple without kids as not so much happening there but its only a 3 minute walk anyway.
Lovely food-lots of variety and good food for children too-mine are somewhat fussy and tend to eat plain foods without sauces -they had plain rice, chips, burgers, plain pasta, lots of choices of vegs and salads .
My hubbie and me ate differently every night from Turkish cuisine to Chinese to English. All very organised and not a scramble at all. You can also go to various speciality restaurants which we didnt do as we found the Marina and Village restaurant to be ample. (you pay a small surcharge for the speciality ones)
Fabulous setting-on a beach front-mostly sandy with some parts stoney-prob not suitable for toddlers as becomes deep quickly but for our 9 year old who can swim no problem. The pools are great-very suitable for babies and toddlers as the kids paradasise is geared up for them. There is an adult only pool too which we went to without the children-that was paradise for us! -the views from there were unbelievable.
Staff-always available and helpful-very kind to kids
Entertainment-Shows every night but not in your face-no one is forced to partake-there is a large theatre so always a space if you want to partake. we managed a few shows-the comedy show wasnt to our taste but a couple others were good.
other activities-there is paragliding, day trips, kids clubs etc... you wont be bored at all-but equally if you are going for a quiet break you can totally relax as the place accomodates that too.
Tips------when you get to Dalaman Airport dont buy the water! we got stung and paid equivalent of £3 for 100ml (small bottle) -if we had waited to get on the coach you can buy them with the tour operator. But we didnt know that and got water for the journey .
Also the transfer time to Olu Denis Lykia world is 2 hours (they say its an hour but thats inaccurate) so be prepared for that.
Also we felt that the holiday was generally good value for money as you dont really need to spend that much when you are there as food and drink is available from 9am til 9pm all day -they have breakfast, lunch, snack bars and dinner running back to back if you choose full board plus . After 9pm you have to pay for any food or drink.
Trips worth going on are Dalyan boat trip (a protected nature reserve with protected Turtles) and also we went into Olu Deniz itself(about 3 km ) for some souvenirs and cheap designer goods(football kits especially for boys!)
I would recommend this holiday to anyone who is looking for a summer holiday with their family. We went in first week of Sept and it was average temp of 34 degrees-if you dont like it too hot then I would suggest avoiding July and Aug as it can go up to 40's

I loved the water sports and all the pools. The Children's water park was great and the mini bus was handy. Entertainment was quite good and liked the weekly children's shows. The size of the place is massive, we stayed for 2 weeks and still didn't get around it!
Overall it was a enjoyable holiday but the only thing that let us down was some of the food. Very good children's facility's.

I Would Definitely Recommend To Anyone, Whether Fo
I would definitely recommend to anyone, whether for family holiday or singles, the best place to stay is the village rooms where there is so much tranquillity and the rooms are very nicely decorated. We stayed at suite K136 and was just GREAT. We had the best holiday ever, with good quality food and so much choice and excellent evening entertainment that will be unforgettable especially for my 6 year old son. Keep up the good job!

Glorified Butlins, Paradise For Kids Pretty Good B
Glorified Butlins, Paradise for kids pretty good but overall to expensive for what you got and just pretty much being stuck there for 2 weeks. Doing same thing day in day out. Taxis on hand but more expense on what you have already forked out. I'll stick to my beloved Greece thank you or I will go to Butlins.
