Hotpoint Vtd20 Design Fault
I bought my first one 6 years ago, two years of use and the plastic around the door catch began cracking from pulling the door handle, then the door catch broke, had it repaired by Hotpoint £ 90 pounds and had to wait two weeks for a date to repair it. Only guaranteed 90 days and Lo! 8 months and it broke again. I bought another brand new one instead of a repair, I'm a bit tied as it matches my washing machine. This has worked for over 3 years but same thing has happened again. I rang for repair but I have to pay £105 up front with no guarantee it can be repaired and still get charged £50 if it can't. I repeatedly asked if parts are still available but was told she could only assume it could be repaired but was more concerned with trying to get me to pay almost the price of a new dryer to get a years guarantee. Don't buy !

I Have Had No Problems With My Dryer. Have Had It
I have had no problems with my dryer. Have had it 4 years and have had them before. I have never had a problem with any of them. I would recommend them to everyone. I can only comment on support as I have never had to use the service.

Only Worked Four Times. Heater Then Went. Repair W
Only worked four times. Heater then went. Repair will cost £135 according to manufacturer despite registering for 5 year parts cover as I had been abroad and not used it during the first year of ownership. It still has the original stickers in place. The worst appliance I HAVE EVER BOUGHT TO DATE. I will never buy a Hotpoint appliance again. I use it currently to tumble cold washing ... not what I expected.

Did The Designer Of This Machine Ever Use The Prot
Did the designer of this machine ever use the prototype before manufacturing the junk in my utility room? Anything small (socks, lingerie, you name it) wedges between the door and the lint catcher resulting in the clothes article being coated in lint while the dryer dangerously overheats. I just don't understand how stuff like this gets through. DO NOT BUY.

If It Wasn't For The Belt Problem I Could Recommen
If it wasn't for the belt problem I could recommend this Hotpoint VTD20. Drive belt has broken twice in 2 years, this must be a design fault. It adds £1/ month to running cost for parts only, if you have a fitter it is 3 pouns a month
Q&A
My machine is not spinning at all. Had it a few years only but I cannot find the booklet. Is it worth spending out to get it looked at or buy new one? Any ideas please?
