AA Driving

I had a fantastic experience learning to drive with my instructor. From the very first lesson, he was patient, clear, and incredibly supportive. He explained everything in a way that made sense, helped me build confidence behind the wheel, and always stayed calm—even when I made mistakes. Thanks to his guidance, I passed my driving test on the first try! I highly recommend him to anyone looking for a skilled and encouraging driving instructor.

really calm and laid back instructor

I recently passed my driving test, and I couldn't have done it without my driving instructor. He explained everything clearly and helped me build and improve on my skills. What I appreciated most was their calm and encouraging approach. He was really laid back, even when I made mistakes and helped me to correct them.

From Struggles to Success – A Grateful Student’s Review

I passed my driving test, who was very patient and supportive throughout the process. As someone with a learning disability, I found it challenging to understand reversing and navigating roundabouts. However, he used clear visual explanations and taught me with consistency, which helped me build confidence and eventually pass.

Of course! Here’s a warm and positive review you could use:

I had a great experience learning to drive. He was patient, friendly, and always made me feel at ease, even when I was nervous. His teaching style was clear and easy to follow, and he explained everything in a way that really made sense. He gave me the confidence and skills I needed to pass my test and to feel safe on the road. I always looked forward to my lessons, and I’d definitely recommend him to anyone looking for a reliable and supportive driving instructor.

Passed with zero faults!

I booked my test in Horsforth as there was no availability near where I live and he introduced me to the area and helped me build confidence on the roads. He calmly and clearly identified my mistakes and helped me improve steadily until my test date. I really appreciated his practical and straightforward approach as he never overcomplicated things. His professionalism also stood out to me, especially after previous experiences with instructors who were often late or cancelled lessons last minute. I highly recommend him to anyone looking for a trustworthy instructor.

Wonderful experience.

I moved from an independent instructor to my new instructor (Horsforth area) after several months of driving with very little improvements with my precious instructor. Within weeks he had greatly improved my confidence and driving through his calm friendly manner and clear and helpful instruction. I am now a confident driver and use my car daily for work as well as visiting family in the Lake District using little country roads and friends in Manchester using the motorway. I am so Grateful and would 100% recommend him. The AA was also cheaper than my original instructor and the app was easy to use to book, cancel and pay for lessons.

Excellent experience

I left a previous instructor as my driving was not progressing. I moved. He is a wonderful driving instructor. He is friendly and patient . Calm and reassuring. He put me at ease. His clear instructions and explanations meant my confidence and therefore driving improved quickly helping me to pass. I am now a confident driver and have been around the country on both tiny single track roads and on motorways. I can't thank him enough for the amazing lessons he game me.

Horsforth

This week I passed my driving test all thanks to my driving instructor. He was very patient when teaching me and was able to simplify the lessons so that I was able to understand them.

Q&A

I am not happy with my instructor and would like to change it. Do you know a good AA instructor in South Ealing/Brentford?

If you check the website or phone them they will tell you who your nearest instructors are. You can book lessons online too and you will be offered a choice of time slots.

I'm considering taking up a franchise as an AA driving instructor. Reading through this thread there are a multitude of similar bad experiences, primarily relating to the conduct of the instructors'

I've also noticed that on a majority of these posts the AA have replied with comments which indicates to me a desire from them to improve and listen.

My question as a prospective 'Franchisee' is this:

Would you as a parent or student choose the AA Driving School as a preferred provider based on their reputation and how much would the ratings in this thread influence your decision to use them?

There are several companies out there that offer a franchise solution; RED being another popular one. I'd be interested to get some feedback on this so I could at least feel that I would be choosing the right organisation to train with.

At this point in time I'm inclined to choose the AA purely based on its long standing reputation and that any other schools (including RED) are likely to have both good and bad instructors too.

I would choose AA over Red. AA are far superior but Red are the most complained about and worst for customer service and quality. This is my personal experience of both.
