Abode Atlas Aquifier

We were sold this tap by our kitchen fitters as it was the only filter tap they would supply and fit as part of the kitchen.

The filter cartridges only last about 3 months in the hard water area we live in and they are hard to find and expensive. Changing the filter is a messy affair as the water runs back from the pipes when you remove it.

After about 2 years of use the tap started buzzing and vibrating, and constantly dripping and turning itself on. We managed to work around the issue intially by turning off the supply to the filter, but now even that has failed - in the off position the tap runs fully and even if you move the lever fully to the filter position it buzzes and drips. It also starts buzzing when you flush the toilet or anything changes the pressure in the cold water pipes.

I have ordered a new cartridge module from tap-spares but they didn't include it in the next day delivery so I assume it is coming in a separate royal mail delivery.

The Aquifer was easy to suit and creates no problem. The services were fast, if we're saying aquifer issues then the providers are providing quick solutions. It has a delivery which is free and fast. It is very effective in purifying salt water.

Thought it good to buy direct from Abode Shop but don't do it.

They use a 'delivery service' that gives no notice when it will deliver so very likely you will miss it.

You are then required to stay in to receive the package from 8am to 4pm, they will not tell you what their delivery schedule is.

You have to call them on the phone, no email communication, between certain working hours to get someone to tell you how they can't tell you what might happen. They couldn't even tell me how long they keep a parcel before returning it to the sender if it's not delivered.

They clearly haven't heard that it's possible to text someone to advise delivery beforehand. Frustrating and hopelessly inadequate.

The Abode Aquifier water Filter cartridge is great, easy to fit, I can write on the the date I fitted it on the cartridge, so I know when to replace it without having my details on some database somewhere (don't like companies who do that) It lasts ages (over a year for me) didn't cost the earth from the company I bought it from (www.brookwater.co.uk) and was delivered within 48 hrs.
