Bojangles Bar Diner, Westcliff on Sea

We as a family have eaten at this resaurant on a number of occasions, the food has been great, very good with children and service was second to none, whilst we were there the last time we were going to see David Essex all the fun of the fair, who walked in for his dinner (Yes David Essex) well if it is good enough for him then it is good enough for us.

I would like to thank all the staff for all their help as we have a few odd dietrey requirements but they in everyway possible.

I would recommend that you book as most afternoon/evenings prior to shows it can be busy

i first ate at bojangles when it was changed from the player retreat a couple of yers ago, it had changed alot but all for the good.

the staff was friendly and very helpful and honest, i had asked one of the waitresses for what they would recommend and they replied with the homemade steak pie she was absolutly right it was SESATIONAL!

i have been many times since and it improves everytime, i used to only go when i was going to see a show at the cliffs pavillion now i would gladly go just for a meal out one night with my husband.

Thought we would give it a try, had a drink there after a show. Went for the meal, Saturday, we were the only ones in the restaurant, food was okay nothing special, poor quality ingredients, requested an irish coffee, they said they did not do them, the place lacked atmosphere, the waitress was friendly, we wont be going back the place needs an injection of enthusiasm and re-look at the menu and quality of produce used.

Excellent Food, really friendly staff, Bojangles Bar Diner well help you with any queeries. Their food isnt overly priced and very friendly resturant.

to the person below i go to bojangles bar diner which is a restaurant and not a cafe the house wine is on tap so they don't run out and their cod is absolutely scrumptious better than any fish and chip shop

Overall the staff were a bit rushed but this is no excuse for poor service and had we not been on our way to a show I would have taken them to task for what was a bad enough experience to make us NOT go back again in a hurry! Sorry BoJangles you really need to improve your act!

The food at Bojangles is fabulous and I am surprised to see that it isn't busy every night, the cleanliness of Bojangles is very good as I have been there 3 times and they are the best gents toilets I have been to in a restaurant.

It isn't a very well known place as I called 118118 to get the number and they didn't recognise the that name, but I have heard recently that it has been changed.

We didn't receive the best service. Firstly, the sparkling wine we ordered came up as a bottle of expensive red, then we were told that the one we had ordered was out of stock and had to pay an extra 7 for the next one on the list. Then to the food, I ordered the stuffed mushrooms, (note the plural), I got two mushrooms with salad so approx £2 per mushroom. The home made steak pie was indeed home made but not cooked to my liking, I had three carot slices but lots of peas. My friend ordered the rack of ribs only to be told later that the ribs were not available. He then went for the steak. So, after the meal we asked for the bill, this had both the ribs AND the steak and had to request that the bill was updated accordingly.

I had eaten at the Players Retreat (as Bojangles Bar Diner in Westcliff on Sea was known) once before, and found the whole experience rather unsatisfactory, and therefore vowed to steer clear. However, I was persuaded by a work colleague to return, as it was now under new ownership, and had converted to Bojangles Bar Diner. The difference was noticeable straight away. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the menu had undergone a complete overhaul. When it arrived, our food looked sensational, and I have to say tasted quite simply out of this world. I have no hesitation in recommending Bojangles to anyone who wants good, quality freshly prepared and cooked food.
