Shocking!
I booked six nights at Anantara Eastern Mangroves in Abu Dhabi via Asia Rooms. I received confirmation that my booking was confirmed, that payment had been taken and a voucher was issued. I received two telephone calls to check my debit card details. Two weeks later, Asia rooms sent me an email to say that the hotel had failed to honour my booking and that it had been cancelled. I expressed disappointment that this should happen having had payment taken from my account. They promised a refund. When the refund arrived it was over £60GBP short of the amount paid! Asia Rooms not only refused to make good the difference (explaining that this was due to "dynamic currency" and that my bank should sort it out) but also refused any compensation whatsoever. The moral of this story? Don't trust Asia Rooms.
Mr.and Mrs From U.s.a
AsiaRooms is not convenient to make some changes (e.g. unable to update the credit card information) and mislead detail information about the hotel. For example: On 11/04/14-11/06/14, We booked 2 nights at Rachan Residence Hotel in Chanthaburi. It stated Breakfast Included, we were so disappointed and we skipped the breakfast for both days because there was only fried egg with toast or a few frozen Thai dishes.
In addition: there was only one staff at each shift and they were not friendly, not helpful, they do not speak English and even we communicate Thai with them. They did not seem to care about customer services (e.g. They reluctant to provided more toilette tissue and more pillows.
We will not sevice AsiaRooms and will never return to Rachan Residence Hotel in Chanthaburi again.
Great Service, Great Holiday Destination!
We stayed for a week in August. We changed the hotel to The Laguna after having a problem with a neighbouring hotel and it was a great decision. They accomodated all our requirements at really short notice and made the transition very smooth.
The staff service was consistently impressive from the butler, conceirge, reception, restaurants and bars. We were very thankful for their help especially Artana, the Butler Manager, who always made sure that service was maintained at the highest level.
The property grounds is a highlight and very well maintained - the lagoon pools were extensive and our daughter enjoyed swimming in a different location every day. The atomosphere of the hotel was very relaxing and did not feel overcrowded despite being highly occupied throughout our stay.
We are already looking forward to our next holiday at The Laguna.
Didn't Book My Hotel Properly Even Though I Had A Booking
Don't use asia rooms in bali unless you are 100% sure the hotel confirms your booking, recommend contacting the hotel to confirm.
Recently used asia rooms had a booking reference however when arriving the hotel had no booking confirmed from asia rooms and unfortunately was fully booked. Luckily the hotel was nice enough to arrange better and alternative accomodation.
Please check with the hotel if they have your booking regardless what asia rooms emails you
same thing just happened to me and to three other people who arrived at the hotel at the same time as me... looks like this happens a lot. Our hotel wasn't so forthcoming and the first I heard from Asiarooms was an email three days after the event to say there was a problem with the booking ????????? Apparently this was all our fault???????
Do No Use.
If you do use AsiaRooms to book your holiday (and I strongly recommend that you don't) make sure you read every page of the booking process very carefully. In particular, look at the cancellation policy very carefully. You actually have to click on it to be able to see it.
The cancellation policy can change from one page of the booking process to the next page of the same booking. It can change from being refundable to non refundable. It can also change from being payable to the hotel during your stay to being payable straight away.
This is abhorant behaviour from such a large company. They lack any care in the information they present but it may well be deliberate in order to catch out the unwary. Be careful.
New Wave Hotel Shah Alam
Too bad to have cockroaches moving around the room! Window is so dusty.
Overcharged And No Customer Service
We booked online, based on a quote in USD. However, once at the hotel we were told we could not actually pay in USD, unless it was cash. We therefore had to pay in local currency per the hotel exchange rate and in addition had to pay Visa exchange fee and again took a haircut on Visa exchange rate. All in all, we ended up paying an extra $100 when converted into AUD. Definitely not the cheapest option - would strongly recommend going with someone else.
Run, Dont Walk Away, From This Company!
Their internet site clearly states that you can cancel a booking 21 days before start of stay either by Internet or phone. We booked over the Internet because they had the best price. Red flag #1.
This is not the case. We tried to cancel on Internet well before 21 days and were informed we had to call. Red flag #2. Well we called, and called and called. No representative ever answered the phone. Red flag #3. We never heard back from AsiaRooms until well after the 21 day period and then only to inform us they were charging us a penalty fee for cancelling. The company works this system to rack up fees. Save yourself our nightmare and book with someone else.
Riverside Paradise Hotel Melaka/malesia
After arriving and the request to pay immediately for the 4 nights, felt really disappointed about my room cause I've paid too much for the little space with an old tv (few local channels). No view of any garden or riverside. The price is 792 ringgit for 4 nights. This so called hotel is very dark, nothing on the walls to make you feel comfortably as a guest except more over 30 homeprinted signs; no smoking allowed, fine of 50 ringgit. as the only decoration on every peace of wall. The place offers you the very miminum, just a place to sleep. No kitchen to aware of, no breakfast, no tea/coffee maker, no fridge in the room. In the hall you'll find your shared shower/toilet, without soap/shampoo. Just give them the fix price in cash if you are willing to pay for this place, otherwise they keep your changemoney with the arguments; o, it's for the heritage house, o, it's government money. Without any permission of you, or a decent information befor. So they just took in my changemoney of 8 ringgit. That means I've paid 200 ringgit per night. At the back you can sit on some little hard chairs, without of course any drinks or food. The only what's good, the place is not dirty, actually all sleeping places are clean in the centre and last but not least you only pay between 50-75 ringgit per night in other guesthouses, or hotels.
Unreliable
we have been voted best homestay resort in Thailand for over 14yrs.
i have tried both Asia Rooms and Agoda Based in Thailand. neither was reliable.as Our Agents THEIR SERVICE WAS DEPLORABLE.mostly due to the language barrier and a complete form of apathy on their staffs side.if there was ever a problem ,NO ONE there could sort it.our own customer service is beyond approach,i could not trust either agent to handle our clients bookings.book at source if you want reliable genuine prices and care free stays.
