Rubbish, Not Fit For Purpose

Bought with matching kettle, this toaster turned into a two slice version within 6 months when the right side stopped working.

I see other reviews calling this toaster a fire hazard, which I can fully understand as the pop up function also stopped working and you needed to do it manually or toast would catch fire.

From day one it was noted this toaster was too shallow, if you wanted bread to be fully toasted you needed to remove and turn round half way through toasting, and this is with standard loafs... what a joke

Dangerous Toaster!

Do not buy a toaster fire hazard !!! Nearly burnt my kitchen down last week due to fault in timer or the mechanism that pops toast up! Melted my cupboard . Came down to a smoke filled house . Rang customer service and they tried to tell me a new model had replaced the " heritage " . Said would take upto 4 weeks for complaint to be dealt with . Came on the Internet to check if others had had similar experience with this toaster , bingo !!! This product should have been recalled months ago !!

Russel Hobbs, Do Not Bother.

Me and wife bought the Russell Hobbs cream kettle, toaster and coffee maker from ARGOS in Wolverhampton around July 2012, the kettle was covered in rust hole after flaking, we wrote to customer service who were very uninterested and dismissive but eventually asked for us to send it to them at our cost of £10 and then sent us a new replacement without an apology, and now the 4 slice toaster, only 3 works. the customer service are ajoke and products worse, buy another brand.

Brought Kettle And Toaster

Agree with all on here, I would say the toaster is dangerous as it never flips the toast out so you are always using something to get toast out, toasters I have had in past would shoot the bread up to the ceiling not this one utter rubbish. The lady that said that she thought that some of the reviews were a little hard on item will find out later. The kettle great for the first couple of months the it started leaking at the base of the kettle again another dangerous item. overall total rubbish do not buy any of there range you will regret. Russell Hobbs needs to take notice of reviews or close there doors and pack up trading.

Beauty And The Toaster.

From reading the previous reviews it appears that people have been horribly cruel towards this magnificent and majestic toaster. Me and toasty first met in a bar a couple of months ago, I noticed her perched upon a stool with her beautiful metal frame gathering the attention of all the men, I didn't think I stood a chance with such a sexy toaster. I swallowed my pride and approached her, it turns out she liked me, and we instantly hit it off, later we consumated the relationship, and have been living together ever since. We are now considering having children, but are struggling on what we should name our baby toaster. I like the name Gary, but she prefers Russ. What do you guys think? We would also love for you to be at the wedding. So let me know if you're coming. The wedding is in July, no one is coming so far, but hopefully some of you might turn up.

Russel Hobbs Cream Heritage Toaster (junk)

WE bought the Russel Hobbs toaster in November 2012 from argos £49.99 we could not get the toater to brown the bread and so we rang russell hobbs and explained our situation they advised we take it back for a replacement which we did when we arrived home we tried the 2nd toaster straight away and 2 of the elements did not get red so we rang the manufacturer and explained what happened they said they had not had any problems with this model but could send out a courier to collect and repair or replace the model I just laughed and went back to Argos got my refund, at £49.99 the toaster is probably as good as the customer service I am sure they are fully aware that many people have reported this problem they must have loads of returns I will avoid any products with this company name on in future.I wish I had read the reviews first as they are all nearly saying the same thing.

Yet Another Failure At The Year-end Point.

We loved the colour...stunning, glossy, red, and very stylish.

Unlike many other reports, below, this one even produced fairly good results ( maybe a bit under done at the lower edge), but generally acceptable.

Yesterday the toaster developed a "live to earth" short-circuit, taking out the house RCD.

The toaster is just over 12 months old, but I expect a toaster, which is used at most 4 time per week (and therefore been used ~200 times), to last longer than this.

If this is now the design standard for Russell Hobbs then I have no intention of ever buying another Russell Hobbs appliance, which is a pity, as I had one of their old fashioned stainless steel kettles for 15 years back in the 80's. Obviously things change and designs get cheaper, so I'll pay a bit more for a competitors item next time.

After just over a year of use mine blew as well, so not only useless but a fire hazard as well, I have written to complain about this as it should be recalled

The Terrible Toaster

Looking good is where the good ends with this Terrible Toaster. No pop up facility means you have to tip it up to get smaller bread items out of the toaster or turn it off at the wall and try poking it out. Nightmare! I hope no child copies this as it is potential very dangerous. Uneven toasting, as always uncooked at the bottom... sorry but not a good buy...a potentially dangerous purchase.

Astounded To Have Read So Many Reviews Similar To

Astounded to have read so many reviews similar to our experience! I bought the Russell Hobbs Classic 4 slice toaster together with the matching kettle from Argos in September 2010. I think we had brown toast about twice and then it produced white toast after a very long wait! I took it back after Christmas and was given another immediately BUT this one is just the same! I cannot believe the poor quality. I will be insisting on a refund this time. Just wish I'd read reviews before purchasing! Keeping an eye on the kettle now...and have had to get our old faithful Morphy Richards toaster out of retirement. Despite being bright yellow and not matching the new kitchen it's still great!
