Few Snags But So Far So Good

We brought our 4 bedroom detached home in May 2015, on the Grovenser Park Attleborough Norfolk. I was not sure at first buying a new build after reading so so many poor reviews of them. However after looking at so many old houses the work that needed done we decided to go for the new build.

The house we are in now was built so that did help so we did fully inspect it before we committed to buy.

Yes we have had a few snags, patio doors not shutting probably, toilet kept flushing once pressed button, underlay missing on part of stairs, a email to customer services on a Monday and had those problems sorted that day. Also had a couple of other issues since but have been sorted.

We may be lucky as the site manager is really strict how he works.

Like people have said before people who are happy never write reviews, always one that have major problems do.

Few Snaggs But All Rectified And Very Happy Family Home

I have now been in my new 4 bed detached house for 2 years. Of course you get some snagging along the way and thats the whole point of buying a new house and getting 2 years cover. Put it this way how many people buy a used house and find things that the previous owner has hidden !!

Any issues I have had have been rectified quickly and within the timescales and we are very happy with our family home.

As with any large development with more than one builder you are reliant on other factors like the consortium to complete the roads but that is also part and parcel of moving to a new home.

Most people who are happy don't write reviews on the other hand people who have problems feel the need to vent. Put that into perspective when making your decision.

Very Poor Quality Build.

Taylor Wimpey should hang their heads in shame with all these negitive reviews but they simple dont care once you pay over your money.

We bought one of their properties just 14 months ago, never again they employ the worse cheapest brick layers they can find our house looks like it was a first attempt by a man sadly lacking the required basic skills of bricklaying required to do the job and the NHBC are a waste of time for not checking on poor standards they are getting away with.

Staff Are All So Rude And Intimidating!!! Bad Service

We was looking to buy a new home at one of the TW sites in Manchester and went in to look at the showrooms. When we walked in staff there just ignored us and was not at all welcoming. We went to see the houses and because we liked the area we wanted to make a reservation for a property. Before we could even ask anything one of the ladies who worked there shouted over 'we've not got anything' and was so rude and intimidating!

We then asked her when there will be properties available and her answer was 'I domt know' again said rudely to us. Staff who work there don't seem to know anything or want your business so I don't see the point of them being there at all.

We then asked her if we could go on a waiting list and she replies 'well yeah but there's about 50 people waiting so it prob won't get to you????

Anyway we left and made an appointment online to speak to them properly as they didn't seem to want to speak to customers who were just passing by. Got there at the arranged time to find that Someone else was put into our slot!!!

What kind of customer service is this for a property sales office?

SERIOUSLY BAD BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE AND RUDE STAFF... Never known a place like this, the staff do not know how to smile... I would just avoid and I am glad we read all these bad reviews. I would say take your ,only elsewhere where you know at least your being taken seriously.

High Price For Poorly Built House In Maidstone

After move in the snagging list grew and grew. The customer service became less and less. Poorly fitted doors, leaks, squeaky floors, broken locks, lose handles, gaps along walls, lose tiles, just too much to write here. The attention to detail of the build is shocking. Uneven plaster, paint flaking, skirting coming off. The walls are paper thin. The house itself feels like its gonna fall down on a windy day. Reporting the problem I was made to feel a burden and ignored. Its been an nightmare. If you value your money and sanity, STAY AWAY FROM TAYLOR WIMPEY HOMES!

Church Fields Boston Spa

I had to post my comments as most comments on here only show the negatives of Taylor wimpey and there staff .

Being almost 2 years in now on our new build home I have to say the site manager at boston spa and his team have been first class , nothing's been too much trouble and the customer care has been second to none this only highlights how good the site manger has been .

I was the third or fourth house built on a 153 house site and hardly knew they was there ! No noise or muck at all from the site ! Only minor snagging like all new homes , but all got done in good time .

People don't be put off by the very small minority of whinges who know little or nothing about house building and think its acceptable to moan over very trivial stuff but forget the big picture .

And by the way I got offerd a 100k more for my house than I paid for it in less than 2 yrs !

what's that tell you about wimpey houses !

Many thanks taylor wimpey for building my family a lovely home !

Avoid This Company At All Costs!!!!!

If I had only done my research before parting with my money. This must be the worst company I have ever had the misfortune of having to deal with. You might as well take out a mortgage, dump all the cash in a drum and set light to it. Their customer service and build quality is the worst I have ever come across. They treat you like an idiot and will just continue to fob you off until you either give up or consider murder! Three years on and we are still living on a building site. The houses have been built so badly that most of the houses are now having to have the roofs removed and re-fitted! How any of these houses ever passed the NHBC certification I will never know. My advice to any prospective client is the following. Ignore the pretty little brochures, ignore the empty promises by sales staff. Take your money and pay a little extra and buy a house from a reputable house builder. If you think they are going to use experienced labourers to build your property think again! They sub-contract everything and the cheaper they can get it for the better for them. Result you end up paying for a sub standard property. By all means ignore this and continue at your own risk.

Owning A Taylor Wimpey Home Is Like Having Hiv

We bought our Taylor Wimpey home in 2007 on the Parklands Estate. From day one it's been a living nightmare. The first massive snag was discovering that the family bathroom wasn't plumbed in. Resulting in flooding the entire house with a bath full of water. There after its been one thing after another. Every toilet cistern in the house x4 have had to be replaced as apart from being badly plumbed in and almost impossible for plumbers to access.

Virtually every AEG appliance has had to be replaced which does make one question if they purchase en masse factory rejects.

The roof leaked and had to be repaired after it was discovered that the gable was shorter than the trusses so the filled with lead flashing which not only is a fire hazard but caused extensive leaking.

The paint quality is so watered down it rubs off if wiped with a cloth.

The one bath and the shower tray were not supported correctly and collapsed.

Getting Taylor Wimpey to assist was like getting an audience with the Dali Lama and on more than one occasion I was treated as if I was a nuisance.

it has been suggested that Wimpey employ apprentices and no one checks their work which is mostly substandard.

I am not alone in my opinions as most of my neighbours have also had to do extensive work to get things up to standard.

A house should last a life time ..... I can't see this house lasting past 15 years.

One neighbours house had to be demolished and re-built as there was no waterproofing under the house!!
