Unethical
SAGA are an absolutely shambolic company when things go wrong, which they will if you make the mistake of insuring with them.
They send out vicious letters despite the fact you are insured.
They falsely advertise their products on cashback sites but then don’t honour the amount, or let you take out new policy on renewal.
You get idiots like j Carr who try to gaslight customers and minimise your complaint to avoid resolving it. Hideous woman needs firing. Vile nonentity
Equally dodgy team leader Allex. will just back up the shambolic handler and issue an irrational final response , palming you off on their equally bad FOS,
No surprises as they just go hand in hand to misrepresent customer .
The cs team are equally unprofessional, made series of mistakes but didn’t resolve do legal action will follow /

“leaving Reviews Wherever I Can To Share The Sheer
“Leaving reviews wherever I can to share the sheer gouging of existing customer with saga. I have been with SAGA for around 10 years and never ever with 'auto payment' because after about 4 years every time they increased premium on 2 cars, but by about 10% and each time I called and got it back down to almost last year's premium. But like others here, I just got renewals on the 2 cars: one up by 80% and the other 100%! No changes to anything- same address, no claims, no tickets etc etc. Before I called them, I went online and spent 3 hours on multiple sites and even managed to find quote from comparable insurers like RAC, AA etc. And, I saw 80% of the quotes in a long list from providers were all lower and similar to last years prices for me! So I called Saga with info ready, and spent 10 minutes laughing hysterically at the script of defences that I am familiar with as I get them every time I have called them: "prices went up", okay I get maybe 10% in current climate - not 80 and 100%, "more claims for the industry", really guys? the UK motor industry in 2023-2024 'exploded' in claims?, and my favourite of all time, "we use a panel of 10 underwriters and pick the cheapest"- really? So. I can go online on comparison websites and even selected individual insurers where 80% of insurance quotes are lower than last years making them 90-120% ish lower than the renewals that SAGA tried to double? Wow...so the same underwriters have 'suddenly' whacked up their costs and yet the majority of the insurance sector can even lower my premiums? What a joke. The 'best offer' from Saga? "We can reduce your premium as a loyal customer by £20"- wow…so generous. And this is why the legislation changes that came in to try and stop insurers gouging existing customers are an absolute farce! Search on this and you will find many money experts who outline exactly what I found- insurers use all sorts of 'technicalities' like “sorry you bought on a Tuesday evening..not Monday morning so we will gouge you” (you get the point). They still do what they want. So SAGA, this is a joke. The fact that I can find dozens and dozens of insurers that can insure the cars even lower than last year's premiums make a mockery of every scripted excuse provided and are clearly gouging to a disgusting extreme. And do we really wonder why inflation keeps getting driven up? I will never ever go back to SAGA. The 'justifications' for doubling premiums are embarrassing and dont stack up against the industry. Avoid avoid…

Diabolical Increase On Car Insurance
I have spent many years with Saga car insurance....currently in the process of renewing for this year. Last year my policy cost £350. Think we are all aware that car insurance was increasing this year...but Saga want £822 for their basic policy. More than a 50% increase!! Having looked at other sites comparable policies come in at £5 to £6 hundred. So their price is extortionate.....can not understand how they justify this. I think it may be linked to the number of policies they have sold with a guaranteed three year price.....guess someone has got to subsidise this in the light of what the increases would have cost without that guarantee. Will obviously not be using them again.
Shocking. Had similar. Had two cars with them and was happy until this year! Can’t get through to anyone however hard I try ????.

Saga Car Insurance Beware!
Saga Car Insurance
Saga Car Insurance. Having insured my car for a year and having paid upfront, I called them to discuss changing my vehicle on my policy. Far from being helpful the situation fast became a nightmare. I was quoted a ridiculous price increase even though the car I was changing to cost far less and should have been a lot less to insure. I have 4 months to run on my policy which I had paid for upfront last year. I decided to cancel the policy and was told I would have to pay a cancellation fee and that I would get a rebate for the remaining months left on my policy. The lady I spoke to cancelled the policy from the 1st Feb ( a week later) Within 40 minutes I called back to ask that this not be done as I had a change of heart. I was told a flat no and that it was not possible to re-instate the policy as I had cancelled it. This was a mere 40 mins later. Aren't consumers allowed to change their mind? Apparently not re Saga - very happy to charge me the cancellation fee and really had no care whatsoever for an existing customer. What made the whole situation worse was that I was promised that my complaint had been raised and that I would hear from someone - that someone never called! Another broken promise and a really don't care attitude - I would beware of insuring your car with this outfit!

Horrendous Company, Stat Well Clear
Unfortunately this system doesn't allow you to give no stars as Saga's customer service is absolutely shameful and useless. Having spent an hour on the phone and being told there is no Manager in, they admit they work from home. This folks is why they don't answer your calls as they are working on the cheap whilst rinsing the older generation on renewals. STAY AWAY
Despite being with them on a 3 year deal in the past they have raised the renewal 6 fold and having agreed to a new 1 year deal they still decided to renew on a more expensive 3 year deal.

50 Minutes To Answer A Call, Consistently!!!!!!
We have had several policies with saga over the years, they had a good reputation, what we really liked was that they answered the phone when you contacted them, and the staff were really helpful and nice. Unfortunately, this is no longer the case, we will not be using them again, I had a cracked windscreen, I had to wait 3 weeks before they were able to get someone out to fix it, took the day off work, and they didn’t turn up, not happy, but re-booked for the following week, guess what, no show again, they out source screen repairs, what was also so frustrating was the number of calls I had to make, with an average wait time of 50 minutes, the third day I had off work, they eventually turned up, by this time my screen was cracked from top to bottom, this could have resulted in points on my license (which the screen company said it couldn’t -wrongly). We have moved house and wouldn’t have been easy to change address on the my saga app, no such luck, not able to do it on the app, but can do it on a online chat, but they cut you off after 12 mins whilst waiting for a connection. So again 49 minute wait for the call to be answered. The staff are good to deal with, but saga are failing them miserably, once you have waited 50 mins for a call to be answered then they are going to be dealing with very frustrated customers. NO FUTURE BUSINESS FROM US

Abysmal Customer Service - Stay Away From This Company.
If I could award minus stars I would. Absolutely atrocious customer service. Attempting to contact yet again by phone to resolve a claim concerning a cracked windscreen repair following a third party fault car accident. Telephone answered after half an hour but the Saga responder (Chantelle) wasn’t able to resolve so suggested she put me through to the ‘claims department’. Not happy that again I would be placed in a further call queue I asked that before she transferred me she first check that the claims department were answering calls. She suggested they may not answer!!? I specifically asked that she comes back to me to inform me if the claims department were answering calls before she transferred me. “No problem I’ll get back to you”. I then stupidly trusted her to get back to me but was left hanging on for a further 35 minutes before the battery on my phone died. Yet again unable to resolve my problem following a claim going back to May this year. Many phone calls ago I complained to the SAGA telephone responder that typically I have to wait 30 -40 minutes to obtain a response. I was informed that this was normal and customers may wait beyond one hour to receive a response. I am obviously extremely frustrated at the length of time it takes to obtain a meaningful response and service and wonder why, in view of the many complaints the CEO is either oblivious or doesn’t appear to care about the extremely poor service offered.
No Customer Service
2 phone calls over 25 minutes each. Both hung up by Saga. Chat service didn't solve my problem with my account. Not possible to get into my online account. Have wasted over two hours now. Tried write a review on Trust Pilot and my account was suspended. I guess this is why their reviews are highly rated.
55 Minutes
I had a question about my policy renewal. Chatbot couldn't answer it.
I needed to speak to a human. Waited 55 minutes to speak to someone.
WAKE UP, MR CEO.

Car Insurance Renewal
went to saga from LV last year. Have driven since 1965 with clean licence and now have 57 years no-claims (yes 57). Drive a 1.6 litre Zafira - as dangerous as a sofa. Renewal date this year wanted 40% increase. Now back to LV.
Be warned!!
Q&A
Saga provide unlimited European use on their car insurance which is the main reason I use them. Has anyone any experience of them being difficult about cars parked at secure airport car parks abroad? I am in France and flying back to UK for a couple of weeks to see the kids, leaving the car at Toulouse airport. Have read the policy and it looks OK but the circumstances are unusual perhaps. Grateful for views.
